btw, a book you may enjoy: A Man in Full by Tom Wolfe. It has a stoic theme although tbh, I liked your interpretations better than the book's. Nevertheless, Wolfe is imo the most insightful author of our time.

Just to ramble a bit more, i have to believe a good number of the master race brilliant rationals who profess liberal, progressive values are simply acting under intellectual pragmatism guidelines such as you stated earlier. They understand reality better than the rest of us and, for purposes of maintaining social cohesion and retaining their elite status within society, they understand the need to perpetuate the emotion guided, leftist, not rational cultural psyche for the masses. After all, we…

Pragmatism. You will one day get old like me, nice to have a good partner around. Meaning of life depends on the person. For some it is honestly simply to have fun. Others it is to be good stewards and accumulators. Others to change the world. Mine was i measured if i felt I contributed my fair share and I believe I did. Having children and guiding them to be good and prosper, i batted two out of three. Valuing how one acts and treats other humankind in the joint struggle through life has meanin…

Purposeful collapse would bring about permanent destruction to institutions, years of accumulated knowledge, take decades to restore to previous levels if not more, death to many, hardship to all. And the political outcome may not be what anyone on the front end imagines. Even with the inevitable feminisation of values, leftist direction of society, I would not want to experience the alternative. But, I have concluded that feminist thinking and progressive liberalism most likely will rule for th…

I cannot offer that there are any trends, political movements, moral outrages, the like on the horizon that would rebalance the empire's decline, so perhaps it is inevitable. But it does not need to be. People would be having this same discussion if there were an internet back in the 30s, and public actions were taken that extended the empire's lifespan to the present. I was involved in public policy for 30 years in varying capacities and sincerely believe there is a way to continue on an upward…

Good points and we agree on the stage. To reconcile our comments, yes, the ruthless selfish pragmatism is absolutely necessary, in fact paramount to the growth, development, advancement of a civilization, so long as it is coupled with laws, rules, and mores that keep it focused on a productive rather than destructive path. Today we have anti-pragmatism in the form of liberalism and social justice coupled with destructive pathways in the form of cronyism and corruption. I think we are doing this …

SSRIs are anti-depressants. For me they worked by suppressing the "you are an asshole" inner voice. Just thought this same effect might assist you. Paxil, Cymbalta are effective at this. You should be protected under health care confidentiality laws (HIPPA) regarding child custody battles. For that matter i don't see how counseling can be used against you in court. it shows you are concerned and taking positive steps.

Your philosophy is one way for a society to function. In fact it is how certain cultures in our society function. It is also how, in my opinion, societies ultimately crash and burn. The financial crisis, the Great Recession, can be traced almost entirely to the philosophy that you ascribe to. Alan Greenspan believed wrongly that the Investment Banking community would never be so selfish as to bring about their own destruction. Afterwards he admitted he was wrong, that the collective actions of se…

And this is my main disagreement with the red pill philosophy I suppose. The part about being rational, knowledgeable and objective i can fully get behind. The in my opinion rationalization that amoral behavior is acceptable is just that, a rationalization. Sure you may succeed, but you do so at the expense of someone else. And that amoral approach is immoral. You can act like a prick, rationalize that it is the laws of nature to be a prick, say that in order to be alpha you must behave like a pr…

If you don't mind being despised by many. Now,I understand fully what you are saying. it is how the game is played in may places such as NYC. Personally I was successful not being that way. Was fully aware that it was a trait that existed, covered my back and did have to play hardball on a few occasions when others were playing that game, but all in all I did right without being dishonest.

It is difficult especially when the rage feedback loops get built into our thought processes. Suspected my first wasn't mine. Years of rage until DNA tests came out. You got insurance? Talk to a professional about it. As rational as we consciously are, we still developed/evolved from emotional beings first, fight, flight, fear, rage, etc. Your Amygdala is on overdrive right now. Some SSRIs are helpful in calming it down. Talk openly to a doctor about it and see if there is something that will he…

Understand, just do not agree. IMO, values such as honesty and integrity should be and need to be integral to all of us. At the end of the day, we are still social animals and unless we are OK living in a "I fuck you, you fuck me" setting, then it is bad. The Golden Rule is found in nearly every religion and culture for a reason. Not to mention, you get caught being dishonest and the consequences to your reputation, career, relationships, etc. can suck.

I can understand your anger and bitterness. I am really not one to give advise though as I don't have those skill sets and would probably tell you wrong. Do know though, easier said than done, that anger only hurts you. I suppose the most rational approach is to learn from this and apply what you have learned towards your next relationships without malice, but with awareness. Women may have certain similar traits but all women are not total bitches. I know in retrospect my wife married me probab…

There are rationals and then their are prick rationals. You can play the games of politics and power, aka manipulation and rise to the top without regard to the consequences to others who are less capable or less rational...and you will be both successful and a prick. The ultimate rational would not care that this is so and it is why we have evolved not all to be ultimate rationals and most not to be ultimately rational. It is a civilization after all.

It is the final and healthiest stage after understanding the fallacy of social constructs. Acceptance. Enter a LTR, just accept it for what it is and enjoy it for what it is; no anger, resentment, depression, it just is what it is.

If you think through evolutionary processes, this has always been the case. Man dies in battle? No big deal. Woman dies? No children to carry on the genes.

No, we have countless social science studies that Clearly show human nature is a false construct, same with common sense, individual personality preferences and claims of differences in athletic abilities of boys and girls... Edit: This post explains something i had never considered before but is so obvious. Of course, boys/men have evolved to be competitive. When schools take away the competitive drive, they are taking away a basic motivation for boys to excell.

She is pandering to her base. Women who want to have a woman in the whitehouse. It is a very strong emotional force in the upcoming election. That said, the quote should particularly anger the men in the military who have suffered. I have seen far too many "broken" vets to think that the suffering of women back home is even close to comparable.

The marketplace will determine if her approach is the correct one. My guess is that she will not hire the best talent that she potentially could because she is placing restrictions on the hiring process. As a result, she will over time lose some competive advantage and some other company will develop a better Reddit-like forum as a result. The marketplace does not discriminate since is driven by the score card of bottom line success and competition. These are realities that SJWs refuse to acknow…

There is a major culture war going on in America today between those who believe in personal responsibility (libertarians/conservatives) and those who believe in victimization (progressives). The progressives are in control of most cultural institutions and certainly higher education. Perhaps this dynamic will change in the future, but I doubt it. Most likely it will become more pronounced.

Think of liberals as the moral compass for a society. Think of liberal solutions as distorted and ideologically driven, resulting often in greater harm than good to those they are intended to help and to society at large. Of course we should have social safety nets, assist the poor. And we should have a vibrant economy and society. So we find ways to best accomplish both rather than destroy one in the process of fixing the other.
