I think women are going to ask for female roommates because they are afraid of the creeps. If you show you're a normal guy, they would most likely not mind. Then again, it's better to just room with a girl you're already friends with.

Even a poor conversationalist will try and engage you consistently if they are interested. So is she asking you questions/saying something if you get quiet? If she is then she's interested. If she's not interested then she will try and make the conversation lull so she can disengage.

Thank you, this is perfect. Just was with a ginger freckled girl tonight. I think I'm going to see a lot of her soon so "freckles" is perfect. Well, it's not all girls that want to be every night for obvious reasons. That's a big part of the challenge is finding girls that are open to it that night, but then again a lot of people say every girl could potentially be willing in the right scenario. And I think it is a really big deal for girls not to come off as sluts.
