Do you really think, in 2024, a draft would result in anything other than the president being lynched in the street? The government lost that ability the second Vietnam ended and it has only deceased since then. I don't know a single person of any political stripe who would respond to a draft and have been told explicitly not too by every combat veteran friend that I have.
