I forget where I read it but another good thing to keep in mind is this: Women get approach anxiety too. It is a natural reaction to a stranger (attractive or otherwise) coming up to talk to them. When you have confidence and a friendly demenor they have a life raft to latch onto. Often they will want the interaction to just "go away" so that they don't feel that anxiety anymore but if you stay solid in your approach their walls will crumble and fall away like leaves in the wind.

I don't see anything wrong with showing some emotion to a woman you are pursuing for a ltr. It shows her you are willing to open up to her a little and connect with her on more than a physical level. The key is how much emotion you show her. Keep holding your masculine frame and don't allow her to become your therapist and you should be fine.

I'm 34, recently divorced, and also have had some nostalgia for past times. My advice to you would be to focus on yourself. Do things that improve your life and make you happy. Focus on a hobby. Tbh I think you came across as needy. You need to let her chase after you not the other way around. After you ask her out once and no answer, sever communication until she notices you dgaf about seeing her again.
