The idea that social skills aren't learnable completely removes the "social" aspect of them. Is it really your position that babies are born knowing how to conduct themselves in whatever culture they're born into?

The Washington Post article makes marriage sound pretty dreadful honestly. 400 extra working hours per year? Seeing your friends less often? Replacing time spent at the bar with time spent at church?* Why would anyone sign up for that? *Admittedly, I'm not the bar going type, but if I had to pick one or the other...

I'd say it's only worth it if you intend to have children, and in that case you should be absolutely certain about wanting to do it. Edit: one thing I think men should keep in mind is the effect a potential divorce would have on their mental health. While it's true that married men are happier than single men, divorced men are worse off emotionally than men who have never married at all.

You have conversations with grocery store clerks? Why do people do this? Usually when I'm out shopping my only thought is that the faster I get this done the faster I can go home! I try to keep unnecessary interactions to a minimum.
