People are naturally drawn to the righteousness of their own gender - I agree that it is less driven by scholarly dispassion and more by self-interest. It's reasonable to hypothesize that many - perhaps even most - of the men who are drawn into this subculture are naturally beta, and are striving to pull themselves into alpha status.

It seems like attraction based on a person's success is less shallow than attraction based on a person's body. So I'm inclined to think this is a good thing. I'm also a bit weird in that as a man, as long as a woman meets the minimum attractiveness mark, I'm focused on personality and particularly ambition and success (not necessarily financial, but that helps) over looks.

The defensiveness here is not very 'alpha'. It seems a bit pathetic. I've read The Game and I sometimes browse through some of the blogs (Roissy and Roosh V, for example). These are not good, respectable people. They seem immature; these are archetypal cads. I'm thinking that many of the guys you see on the internet did not have responsible fathers.
