If evolutionary psychology can account for something as subjective and as distributed as aesthetic preference accurately, then evolutionary psychology can reliably make narrative claims. It is important to note that they don't make normative claims, but narrative claims are far less "subjective" than aesthetics. Once again, it depends on what sort of (or what exact) claim you contend, I'm not saying all of them are plausible, and I outlined which ones I think are.

Didn't say trust all ECs, just said that the quality of their content is on average much better. You're free to pick and choose. I personally think a lot of the ECs are absurd pricks.

why sex became a thing Also, once again, it is important to remember that teleology is absent in biology, entirely. Things become "relevant" after they already pop into existence by random chance, mutation. Evolutionary biology can't really answer why we have qualia at all. Qualia doesn't improve function in any way (computers have no qualia yet experience constant exponential increase in functional capacity). Qualia just happened, and adaptations happened that help us survive despite qualia. Th…

That's part of the "anger phase" a lot of people in this sub talk about, but it's healthy that it's self-directed in your case, instead of on the other (a vast majority of this sub, unfortunately). The degree to which we agree on Evo psych varies, we don't all think the same thing. I am a Biologist, so my understanding is (hopefully) not simplistic or too overarching. The fact remains though, that men and women are differently motivated and harmonizing this is what we explore in this sub. It sou…

The underlying unifier is evolutionary psychology, and the inability of people to ever have an honest appraisal of their motivations. Phenomenal experience of motivation is a by product of already determined action (not hardcore determinism, but some behavior patterns emerge across time as a near constant because those behavior patterns increase the odds of survival. I understand my language is teleological, but my understanding isn't. Limits of language and such) and therefore you cannot trust …

Most of this post is simple paraphrasing of my original post. I don't understand why I'm getting downvoted for calling someone out on misunderstanding his own source material...?

I should have clarified, I was pointing that as a rather impossible (and morally bankrupt) scenario that you couldn't possibly do under any circumstance, but that that absurd possibility was the only scenario that you could extend the particular piece of research to, as in, that is what it guarantees to work. I don't recommend gaslighting lol

There are a fair bit of dangerous conclusions and leaps that you made that wasn't supported by the particular study you showed. There's a lot to biology that we don't understand (we don't even fully understand the function of oxytocin and dopamine-- they seem to do a lot of things). As a responsible red piller, we shouldn't try to tailor scientific conclusions to fit our narrative. I was pointing out that you were speculating outside of the reasonable bounds the author has laid out. The author h…

He made the erreneous dichotomy of "fight or flight" vs "tend and befriend", when infact the study doesn't negate "fight" or "flight" responses in women, and doesn't determine that "tend and befriend" responses are directed toward thr agressor itself. Which is why she isn't tending the movie screen, but is directing her wetness toward you. Read: Woman also display classic fight vs flight responses, in addition to tend and befriend. This study also talks about how the "tending" response is almost…

The study is far less conclusive than you make it out to be, and doesn't preclude women from being aggressive at all--and only talks about tending in terms of tending to their kids. Further, befriending happens not with the aggressor, but in general. It is never directed unilaterally. Befriending and bonding in general helps them cope with stress. You can exploit this by making sure she has no friends (and so only has to befriend you and depend on you). However, the article also talks about how …

Lack of use because of being a 'default state'. I gave you a psychoanalytic explanation of why the 'default state' exists. None of your challenges takes anything away from me claiming that you can use your mother to further yourself.

Women aren't incapable of logic, it is that they actively resist it because it is counterproductive to their own hypergamous goals. Hamstering is a defense mechanism to protect their egos. Of course, due to lack of use, logic circuits in a women's brain (when it comes to critical self analysis) might be shot, but should you have a good first mate dynamic with your mother, her desire to look out for you will overpower her desire to validate and sustain her egos association to being viewed as a go…

Women are entirely different when it comes to their children, and approach true levels of unconditionality with their children.Mothers rarely, if ever, branch swing to better babies. Intro TRP material. AWALT does not apply to mothers.

A captain/first mate dynamic with your own mother is easily attainable, and provides ground for exploration and testing of your own behavior around woman, and offers insights on sustaining such relationships. Your mother would much rather comply and submit to you than your BB father, if you have a single mother you're doing her a cathartic favor. Ofcourse, don't disrupt dominance chains if your father is present and is alpha. Your mother will also be much more honest to you, and you can eke out …

Your own need for "unbridled loyalty, unending companionship" is as selfish as her need to branch swing. Women aren't making the contracts that you think they're making with you--TRP is about reading the actual contract and not living in fantasy land. You are in no way morally superior to her, and her actions arguably help increase the quality of our species more than your want for unwavering companionship ever will. The key to TRP is to understand the nuances of what drives us, and our own egos…

The hardest problem with opening up to women is not that it is always disastrous, but that it spells disaster if you have deep seated emotional issues and your veneer of "cool alpha" that she's grown to like is a facade. Most of us are in the veneer stage, we haven't really transitioned deeply. So, when you open up, women realize they've been conned and move on. Transitioning deeply only comes after a lot of internal work and experience--for now the sidebar is just a rule list. It gets us playin…

I've found that it is quite counterproductive to think about motivating oneself--like how it is counterproductive to think about achieving happiness. A state of motivation is a by product of doing things you like, tweaking your goal path to have both a losely defined long term and well defined short term goals, and doing these diligently. The more thought you put into this process, the more you're going to be caught up in abstraction and the less you'd actually get something done.

You did a lot of the right things and you've absorbed the material well. There's nothing more to be had from reading TRP. As banal as it sounds, what you now have to work on is you. "Strategy" is simply a set of basic ettiquettes to follow, that is all. Once you've imbibed it to the point it becomes second nature (and from reading your FR, it seems to me that all of it came naturally to you once you got calm and aroused), the usefulness of TRP really does take a nose dive. It helps to read inter…

I'm truly sorry about your situation man. The red pill isn't really equipped to tackle old age, infirmity, and disease, even if some of the traits you pick up along the way (absolute honesty, acceptance of truth without hamstering etc) might help you mitigate adverse situations such as yours. Right now, you don't need to lift, you need to pull yourself to a better mental space from where you can begin tackling your situation. Bank on family, a psychiatrist, medication, anything to help you have …

Don't problem solve for her, she knows exactly what she wants and doesn't want in the long term. (Even if it's disastrous planning) Women are very emotionally pragmatic. She can take care of herself, just focus on having a good time.

The convergence point lies in "something stupid" aka "not worth Investing effort into" (regardless of what the effort may be), not in what the effort is. Amused you made a comment about someone else's reading comprehension.

And SamuraiPizzaCatz says pointing out the alleged "hypocrisy of some redpillers" in this particular manner and context, is functionally equivalent to getting into a fight over something stupid. You either ask him to back his claim up with relevant dissection, or back up your assertions with explanation of how these two things aren't equivalent. You don't just restate and slightly reframe the exact same position, and pat yourself on the back.

I agreed with your initial post about knowing when to fight and picking your battles--i didn't feel compelled to voice my support because it was nothing remotely new, there was no original spin on it etc. However, I understand even this might help some rando on the internet, so I didn't comment on it in any disparaging manner. Ofcourse, we get thousands of such threads (if only they'll read the fuckin sidebar!), mostly I just skim and get on with my day. You however, don't pick your fights caref…

Virtue signaling of the highest order. Some might even say concern trolling. There is a problem with reddit, in that we (some people, you) tend to view the ontology of the group not as a collection of individuals, but as a mythical creature that possesses traits that is the average of the combined virtues individual members in the group possess. Ofcourse, whenever you see individual members then deviate too far to either end of this virtue-normative, the product is an instant desire to "correct …

Need stats for that. 80% when factoring in what metric? Volume of goods purchased? Magnitude? Even if yes on both of those metrics, Given that this is a restaurant, I doubt it really matters. I don't think out of every 10 people at a restaurant, 8 are women.

Men control more wealth than women do. Even if we split money 50/50, why would everyone adopt a principle that alienates 50% of their customer base? Nice slippery slope.

No matter the volume of real life stories people will post, nothing can ever topple the validity of real life experience. If I haven't met George I would have no clue as to what people around here describe as a red pill man and natural alpha is like, and would attribute everything I read as fantasy. This is why you actually go out there, game and lift, without playing armchair philosopher on Reddit. While I won't act like I haven't been mortified by social media (I largely compete in the academic realm, and I get pretty pissed when my 22 year old Harvard graduate friend just got a Rhodes scholarship to Oxford), over time you largely need to cultivate a mindset of "I'll compete only when I have fun competing, and only on terms that please me"-- that is not to use the mindset as an excuse to not compete at all, no, but competition needs to come from a well-grounded center, and a place of amus…

It felt to me like a low-key marketing campaign--not that marketing is intrinsically wrong insofar as the contents of what is being marketed is open for public debate. (Besides, TRP swears by certain guide materials as being incontrovertibly useful anyway. Mark Manson, Rollo Tomassi etc, maybe GC will also achieve cult status) But idk how the mods in particular might feel, so was just pointing it out. I didn't say I knew a 5'7 paki that was doing better than everyone else there, good job slowly changing the terms of the argument. Of course statistics also doesn't discount anamolies and outliers, so your "argument from statistics" is pretty BS when dealing with one guy, but that wasn't my original point of contention at all. Boring debate tactics-- if you want to understand more ways to be dishonest and deceitful, read schopenhauers manifesto.

I was refuting (what I presumed to be) an incels absurd claim that intelligence was always a detriment. I only have to name exceptions to disprove what is a weak theory. You said it yourself, intelligence isn't a direct cause of lack of sex. Intelligence might result in shift in priority, and therefore lack of focus in and awareness of social skills during formative years (the way the sky lights up is interesting, I don't care about breasts) which might contribute toward lack of interest resulti…

Feynman was notoriously good with women and wrote about PUA. Einstein had an extramarital affair. Camus was a serial womanizer (but he also had movie star good looks) Sartre was also a serial womanizer and had one of the best FWB relationships in history, which was widely publicized. (He also had a lazy, droopy eye and was a solid 5. He was also quite envious of Camus) This should be trivial.
