The divorce subreddit is sickening!!!!I fucking hate Esther Perel so much. Had her bullshit suggested to me a few years back when I first discovered my ex-wife's affair and it made me want to vomit. Stick with Chump Lady. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/01/25 04:45 AM
I choose the bear. As a man myself I know what men are capable of. Debate meThe option of a quick death is always on the table. If it wasn't chosen, it wasn't preferred. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 26/11/24 01:38 AM
| – | The Best Way To Meet Women Based On Your Personal Attributes.I got that too. Never tried any of them, but maybe it's time | /r/PurplePillDebate | 30/01/24 09:29 AM |
How'd work go for you?Similar to OP - showed up at work, but was next to useless for months. Eventually explained the situation to the boss out of guilt for getting fuck all done. Boss was super understanding - couldn't have asked for better, for which I'll always be grateful. That was nearly 2 years ago now - I've since gotten back on track and managed multiple promotions. Hang in there mate! As trite as it sounds, there's a reason everyone says it gets better with time. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/11/23 04:09 AM

Custody... All or nothing?I think 50/50 should always be the preferred outcome, unless there is abuse involved. I'm pretty sure most studies show it to be beneficial for kids to have both parents in their lives. As much as I detest my kids' mother, it's important/healthy for them to have a relationship with her so I would never go for more than 50% custody. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/11/23 10:56 PM
I can't be the only one...They still are married/engaged, but they used to be too. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/10/23 07:10 AM
Why did you pick the wrong woman?Immaturity and insecurity. I overlooked many obvious red flags because I didn't have the balls to end it when it was obvious I should have. She was good looking and fun to be around (except when she wasn't - and in those moments she was fucking horrible), so being young and dumb I stuck around until, surprise surprise, she cheated. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/10/23 11:04 PM
Does Everyone Hate Their Ex?Yeah, that's it. A couple years on my thoughts are the same - he did me a favour taking out the trash for me. I tried to contact him immediately after discovering the affair (in hindsight, not the best move) but he blocked me on everything straight away. Cowardly fuck. Haven't spoken since. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/07/23 04:23 AM

CrushedCouldn't agree more with the recommended reading. Those 3 books were hugely beneficial to me in the first few months after discovering my ex's affair. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/07/23 01:59 AM
Does Everyone Hate Their Ex?Yep. I think I have generally handled myself pretty well throughout the separation/divorce process (we did mediation without issue - mediator even said she wanted to put a picture of the ex and I on her wall because it was the most amicable mediation she'd ever done). But yes, I hate the ex because of her 2 year affair with a "friend" of mine (among other shitty things related to the affair). If she'd come to me and said she no longer loved me and wanted divorce it still would have hurt, but I t… | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/07/23 01:52 AM
When women have bad relationships they are told to “pick better” but when men are, we assign blame to womenGuilty! | /r/PurplePillDebate | 08/06/23 12:27 AM
I get a job interview and it's in the office with STBX's BFFAgree - definitely fuck the friend. | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/04/23 02:23 AM
Advice so the soon to be ex wife birthday is Saturday. I keep on going back and forth of getting her something or not getting her something. What do you guys think?I think it's good to get something from the kids, depending on their age. Mine are 3 and 6, so I generally just walk around KMart or similar for a while with the kids and get them to pick a present each, which I veto depending on the cost/appropriateness. Regardless of what I think of the ex, I still think it's important to instill gratitude in the kids. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/03/23 09:43 PM
How do you tell your child?Very well put - thanks for posting that. I've saved this post because I am going to need it in the coming weeks/months. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/02/23 04:13 AM
Gentlemen; For those you you who are divorced, did your wife ever give you the "I love you, but I'm not in love with you" speech? If yes, did she end up initiating divorce or did you?Yeah, it's crazy. I read through forums like this one, survivinginfidelity etc and just can't get over how similar the stories are to mine. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/11/22 12:43 AM
Gentlemen; For those you you who are divorced, did your wife ever give you the "I love you, but I'm not in love with you" speech? If yes, did she end up initiating divorce or did you?Yep, I got the ILYBINILY treatment after discovering her affair. I'd already done a lot of reading online by that point so expected it - almost burst out laughing when she actually said it. It's just so ridiculous how it all plays out as if from a script. Anyway, I've initiated a divorce since then - I made it abundantly clear throughout our relationship/marriage that cheating is an instant deal breaker for me. Good riddance. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/11/22 10:43 PM
Welp. She just reached outAbsolutely 100% ignore. Nothing to be gained from any response, but very possible to undo some of the progress you have made by falling back into her emotional orbit. Keep ignoring; keep healing. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/11/22 12:17 AM
Financial Obligations and boundariesThanks for the input guys - much appreciated. And yeah, the plan is for the bulk of the swap overs to occur at school/kinder i.e. one parent drops them off and the other picks them up, to minimize contact with the STBXW, which I think is to everyone's benefit. Thanks again! | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/11/22 11:26 PM
Financial Obligations and boundariesWhat age would you say 2/2/3 is appropriate for? And what age should the switch to 7/7 happen? I'm currently going through the divorce process with a 3 and 6 year old and leaning toward 2/2/3 to begin with, then transition to 7/7 at some point in the future. But keen to get opinions on that. Cheers. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/11/22 12:53 AM
Never give up and never let anyone determine your self worth!Awesome stuff! Congrats mate. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/08/22 05:47 AM
