I once really liked a guy that was making way more money than me. He was able to travel and work from any country for a week every month. He almost flew to see me but broke his leg right before so we took it as a sign. Meeting him pushed me to become way better. I started exercising a lot, eating better, became more commited at school etc. Nothing ended up happening, but he left my life better than he found it

It’s going to seem strange, but I almost want to feel honored. Like « wow she is a pretty girl, I’ll make my life better so we can be together »

I know it sounds stupid to be this upset about it. But it feels like all your efforts are not worth anything, if someone else who’s not making any effort thinks they’re worth all your sacrifices

Thank you for letting me know

I’m aware of this. My only hope is to make it far enough into studying that I start being around really open minded people. For some reason, the people that have accepted me the most were really curious people/already had a base knowledge on many subjects so they knew enough not to think I was crazy My field is weird because no matter how much money I’m making or recognized I become, it can never be validated by people who have not experienced it. I’m going back to college because I realized it …

Why is everyone asking me this? I feel like I’ve under valued myself by going to the wrong guys, because I didn’t see myself positively enough On what criteria too? Worked in the modeling industry internationally for 3 years, trained in a lot of different things and now going back to college. Working hard to be in alignment with the things I value and I have a lot of friends (maybe not the most marketable ones but I love them) This is my experience, it may be false but currently, I’m not meeting…

I’m stuck with people who are about 3 years younger, because I’m still in college and they are the only person i know here, is it really a reflection of my potential. I’m also going to community college. I get attention from different guys, based on where I go I’m not here to defend my worth or beauty. I thought other attractive girls who are working on themselves and bettering themselves would be answering and it feels like it’s only been men

Thank you for sharing not being able to have children and being so career focused will be amazing for someone who also cares about their career and wouldn’t want to have children

And thank you for keeping me in check. I enjoyed reading your perspective on things and being able to clarify my own perspective

Also what you said about friends is… too accurate.

I appreciate your answer so much🙏🏻 I was also surprised by people’s response, I didn’t expect this from this subreddit. I’m not only making efforts when it comes to my physical appearance. My health is very important to me (I want my children to be healthy), as well as the career I end up in etc. It feels like I’m making every choice considering my desire to settle down with someone and build this whole life. Making sure I become someone I wouldn’t mind watching my children become more alike

If I’ve understood anything from this post is that 1# I’m not spending time in the right places (for example, I still go to college parties as I am a college student) 2# I’m too nice/sending too many signals to guys I don’t want anything with 3# I’m not actually putting myself in the right situations to meet guys I’d fall in love with I’m hoping that when I go further in my studies, I get more lucky

I’m European, living in America. I’m also still in my early 20’s and since I was working, I’m only starting college now (which means I’m meeting really young people who haven’t had the chance to get their shirt together yet) Thank you so much for taking the time to give me actual advice, I appreciate you I worked as a fashion model for a few years so I know I’m cute. Other than this, I also work in the spiritual field and have strong interest in ésotérisme. I know this is a big turn off for some…

Where do I meet the right men? The only places I’ve been exposed to men where I felt like were at my level were while I was traveling/meeting other people from Europe. And I did get attention from them, the most commitment etc The guy took every single one of my friends home. We’ve been friends for a while and had a lot of conversations (besides the ones where I was explaining to him how I felt). I felt responsible for making him feel better about the whole situation, as everyone knows he is ups…

My current attitude comes from me being really tired from being too kind to certain men I responded to you this way because in the way you wrote your answer, you made it look like you were too good to ever have these feelings towards any men. You also made the assumption that I violently reject everyone while my current state is due to me giving chances to people I didn’t want to give chances to It feels like a compliment to have someone attracted to me, not that they do not respect my boundarie…

My image is not necessarily sexy, but im pretty and very friendly. Im also in America and come from a country that tends to be fetishized by people here. I’m aware that I need to get better at setting boundaries. And what you said makes complete sense (how it’s a normal reaction not to want the guys I’m actually seeking out to see me with the wrong men) Also I am not with a man. I am being approached by boys within our friend group/the boys we end up hanging out with when I spend time with my fr…

Thank you so much for understanding. I worked as a model for a while and had to agree to so much just to keep working. Being an attractive woman offers you a very different experience of life, both good and bad but most people have no idea how vulnerable it can feel

I had originally given him a chance, so I felt like I at least owed him friendship. I can see his qualities as a person But his behavior and him coming to me, assuming “there are things I’m not telling him” and how he thinks I do like him is just… it’s really tiring I can tell he’s kinda lost in the fantasy of us and maybe I wasn’t clear enough/still acting caring

Have you ever been sexually assaulted? Have you ever been expected to act very kind, no matter how someone made you feel? I personally have struggled with setting boundaries. I believe some men do not take no for an answer, cannot accept you do not want anything more I’m very extroverted/loving in general. I do feel that a lot of people assume I’m flirting with them, this is why it’s gotten to this extreme for me where it feels this way

I understand that it looks like women having unattainable expectations of men and setting them up to almost become their “servants” I genuinely think I’m not hanging around the right crowd. They’re not valuable to me, according to my own belief system… but I’ve seen other girls speak highly of these guys. We all value different things

I enjoy the smiles and I enjoy feeling attractive I am not from America and where I am from, people tend to look at each other a lot more in the streets. Of course I enjoy the attention and feeling valued, I just really dislike people feeling like they’re entitled to me, my time and energy

I know. I saw things differently before and have given so many chances to boys I didn’t really like

A boy I hung out with once took me home last night (he was taking the entire friend group home). We’ve had 2 conversations already where I explained him why I didn’t see us being together. I was very kind at first but he asked to use my restroom (it was 3am) I ended up being forced to have yet another conversation with him until 4:30, him acting like he was shocked I didn’t want anything with him. I had to explain myself over and over again. I feel like I was too friendly with him and wish I had…

This is the opposite. I do not want anything from them. I believe they have something of value to offer elsewhere but they act as if I should be this person for them I have been trying to date people I thought weren’t really attractive but that I still felt good around. They get insecure when they see the attention I receive and act worse than people who actually believe they’re on my level. The best treatment I receive was always when I dated people of the same or almost above league

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
