Should I worry about it? No. You are right. But it is a financial reality for me. I get the mindset, but I guess I am not at the point where I can ignore that. My goal is to be the shark that just swims gracefully and doesn't

I agree with the part about humans being animals. But I am an example of what money gets you with women. I earn close to the top 1% but still found my wife losing attraction for me. Not because I couldn't provide resources, but because I couldn't provide tingles. I have a friend that might make 50k a year and he does better than any guy I know. He has an exciting lifestyle, has supreme confidence, and does more with his time than anybody. He is like a shark that just keeps swimming. He doesn't w…

Very worthwhile post about doing meaningful things. This is an area I am working on and I think you give some good examples of the types of things I should be looking at. Being able to save a person's life is as valuable skill as there is.

I agree with the last part. For me, it is just about bringing value. If you have a higher value, your chances of being cheated on are reduced. But you are never immune to it. Also, there is always the human aspect. Humans make mistakes and also do bad things. You might have 1% that are saints and another 1% at the other end that are evil. But everybody else falls somewhere in-between. I am not saying you are wrong about Alpha females but I never really look at women that way. When I was younger …

Back in the hood growing up, we always knew that the hotter the girl, the more crazy the are. So this is nothing new. If she isn't mental in some way, her behavior is just feeding off of what you are giving her. Until your value is higher, she will control you with her emotions. They clearly have tremendous power over you. If you are responding to her like you explained above, you are in her frame, and feeding the beast. If you raise your value above hers, you would get a lot less of this. You w…

There is an old song by Chunky A called Ho is Lazy - Give it a listen for fun. She might not be lazy, as so much as she might just be scared of the world. Like you said, you can't do things for her. Does she have untreated anxiety? If not, she doesn't sound like somebody that add a lot to your life.

This makes sense. It stands to reason that Alpha females have more sex. And there are studies that women that have had more sexual partners are less happy in a LTR. Never being satisfied falls in line with that.

It definitely seems like a social reaction to the void of attractive men. Society needs Alphas to move forward and if guys don't step up, apparently the women will. When a queen bee dies, the worker bees will create a new queen bee by overloading larvae with royal jelly. Voids in nature are always filled. As for the cheating, I have heard of studies that say men and women cheat the same, 50/50. That never really seemed accurate to me. As far as I can tell, cheating is more common when there is o…

This entire post is great advice. Knowing your legal options is going to help you figure out what you want to do. She was the one with the EA, so you are the one that decides what happens moving forward, not her. I hope you follow up with an attorney just so you can make an informed decision.

Thanks for the update. Please continue posting these. I think seeing how another guys navigates situations like this will help others. It is possible confronting her only pushed their communication underground. However, if she is angry and depressed, that might just be a symptom of missing her drug. One thing seems very clear, she has no remorse. That is a bad sign. If you were the one that decided to move on, do you think you would be able to do better? Could you get a younger hotter girl that …

I am not going to fight this, but I was hoping to understand it. I asked her the other day why she did it and she said that she goes into a Hurry-up Offense mode and doesn't think. So I guess there's noting else to it so I won't worry about it. It is cool that she would use football terminology for that though. That's how she tries to relate things to me.

I'm just kidding about involving the kids. They are too little to get involved or understand anything, not that I would do that. That would not be something a leader of the family should do. I am not really angry as much as I am just trying to understand it. It seems weird to me more than anything. Other than a few comments, I haven't said anything about it. But I also haven't had fun with her about it though.

It may take more time and you might just need to work harder. Where are your sticking points? If it seems like your wife responds well to preselection, you should look to up that. If I get flirted with by an attractive girl in front of my wife, she almost always initiates in the next day or two. For her, it is a big factor. So I make sure I am encouraging other females to interact with me in front of her. It seems like a lot of guys experience this after a dead bedroom. The go hard for 8-12 mont…

Another bathroom wouldn't really be an option. We only have one bathroom with a big tub that can accommodate to kids splashing around and not bother the tile. So if anybody should go somewhere else, it should be her. If I showed up with a gasmask, that would be pretty funny. Might be a good way to amplify the situation.

Thanks for the comment. I was thinking about getting my son to make some funny comments and see if that might be a reminder for her to use another room or part of the house. I plan out my business so that other people won't be the wing of the house I go to. You bring up a good point about her just having an immediate urge and going into a mode. She is pretty regular so that's why I think a little courtesy would be nice. Not a major problem, I know. If it comes to STFU as the Captain, I will do t…

That's the thing, she is otherwise pretty laid back and goes along with everything. I have been getting myself right for a while and am at the point where she sees it just how I am. As far as comments, I do get her asking about whether or not I think certain girls are hot. She has a few very attractive friends and has asked me if I thought they were hot. My responses would be things like, "not hot enough to get with me." So I am okay with directing the little things. I did wonder if this was som…

I get that compared to a lot of the posts, this isn't a big problem. Would I like to stop the behavior? Yes. I am really more concerned with it being some kind of passive-aggressive thing. Our house is about 4,500 square feet and there are plenty of places for her to do her thing.

I don't know what proper MRP advice would be but I do know that if two women don't like each other, it isn't going to change. Also, there is a built-in competition dynamic at play here. How often do they see each other? Getting rid of the LTR (which you don't want to do) or hoping that your daughter mellows out a little might be the only real options. I don't think niceness can be negotiated here. I would love to hear from the veterans on this.

I was around 285 before I hit the weights hard got my nutrition in line. I played at about 285 in college but I get soft over the years. I have lost a lot of body fat in the last year. My goal weight is about 250, which should give me a pretty chiseled physique. I wouldn't be at 10% but I would go from a 4-pack to a 6-pack. I have about 10-15 pounds around my lower abs right now.

Your post kind of makes me sad. At your age, you should be hitting your stride, not worrying about a dead bedroom marriage. The fact that you don't have kids at only two years into this is a blessing that a lot of guys would love to have. If you really are serious about raising your status, you need to think long and hard about what you want out of your life. And how you are treated by other people. You will be a lot more valuable later. At least you seem to recognize what you are dealing with. …

This is solid advice. I have built up a big nest egg and make a lot of money. I still found myself here... I got soft, lost my masculine edge, and bored my wife. I have a big house in an expensive part of town and we have 3 high-end cars. But I had no life outside of making money and could feel my wife becoming unattracted. I think most guys are good in one or two areas but fall short everywhere else. I have been working on my weaknesses and the difference for me and my marriage have been huge. …

I just read the previous posts. Given your age and your growing value, you need to seriously think about what she is adding to your life. It doesn't seem like much. If you blew up her EA, she might have anger about that. Her dopamine hits are gone and she might be depressed. She sounds like a very unhappy person and if she had a mom like that, she might need a lot of therapy. Read about Borderline Personality Disorder and see if that might fit. How old are you two? How long have you been married? I am wondering if 5 months is long enough. Also, you didn't go into how she degrades you. Is she verbally abusive? At the least, you are in a marriage with a very difficult personality. You very well could be dealing with an angry person that might need a lot of therapy. Thanks for the post. I have thought about the frequency. A friend that does in alternates between injection sites once a week and has been doing it for years (his wife does it for him). I have read about subcutaneous injections rather than inter-muscular and there doesn't seem to be any good literature about the effectiveness. A roller coaster of energy doesn't sound great though.

I think one of the markers of where you are as a man is what you care about. If you think about this, you aren't where you need to be. I have a friend that is in his late 70's and he always has great one-liners and old school advice. One time he told me, "Only small people care about small things." He is an old military man and has killed enemy fighters in a war, got tattoos when only bad asses had them, raised kids, had a bunch of grandchildren, lost loved ones, restored vintage motorcycles, an…

You are totally right about not being able to control a persons behavior through talking. But I think that it is an immediate problem that has to be dealt with while OP gets his stuff together. I remember Athol Kay had a good chapter on busting up affairs and they definitely needed to be stopped right away. The problem is it is always from a position of weakness, so it is kind of a no-win situation. If kids aren't involved and I were him, I would sit her down and at least try to have an honest c…

How long have you been on injections? Everybody I have talked to said to not go longer than a week in between injections because the half-life of cypionate is around 7 days. I got my second blood draw the other day so I should have a better idea of what I am looking at next week. I guess the good news is I feel fine physically so hopefully I have options.

Good point. I agree about him not being able to un-know this. Once he is awesome, this situation will obviously be remembered and may cause his wife to lose value in his eyes. Without knowing the details of what exactly he heard, it does sound like good fortune that Chad wasn't playing ball with her. I do wonder why. Is he not attracted to her? Does he have integrity? If she made some sort of move on him, that is a big step for a female. I would worry that the line has been crossed and like you …

Just curious, did she deny having the guy over? Or did you leave out all specifics on what you knew? I am sure she has it rationalized but was curious if she has lied to you about anything. Good news is it sounds like you might have caught it in time.

Well it sounds like you heard enough to understand what is going on. I don't really know what else you could have done given the immediacy of the situation. Because she has rationalized it, this will be an uphill battle.

Well if she was getting a dopamine hit from this guy, there is going to be withdrawal symptoms, just like with a drug. At first they fight to somehow keep that relationship by accusing you of being controlling, telling them who they can be friends with, and running their life for them. The second stage for her will be depression because the dopamine hits are gone. Athol Kay talks about that and it is on point. The risk of confronting her is that it could just drive their communication undergroun…

I can't argue with that. I do wonder about our wiring as men. Are we wired to become unattractive once we get comfortable, or has that been a societal change? As women have got what they want in life, one of the unintended consequences seems to be that it creates a generation of unattractive males. I wasn't alive during WWII but it seems like those guys wouldn't have let it happen to them. They were interesting men that fought, loved, had integrity, and didn't put up with BS. And it seems like w…

I would leave the recording to yourself (for legal, trust, and attraction reasons). And not to make light of your situation, but this reminds me of a Seinfeld episode where George put an audio recorder in his briefcase and left it in a meeting to see what people were saying about him. Because he only got part of the recording, he didn't know what the context was and ended up confronting people when he shouldn't have. Before I started working on myself, I tried to negotiate desire (which of course didn't work, and even made me look worse). I would tell her how long it has been since we have had sex or tell her that a healthy life is important to a good marriage. The responses were things like: "All you care about is sex" "There is more to a relationship than sex" After I started researching my problem and found out there was a whole community of guys that were dealing with the same thing, I was amazed at how …

I like the question because he is looking to understand and learn from it, not to deconstruct the comment to play verbal combat. That is what I am trying to do as well. I am working on being a little more unpredictable. For a long time I only focused on wealth-building and totally neglected being interesting. Only when my wife started to become un-attracted to me, did I realize that money could get you part of the way there. I am in pretty good physical shape but I am still boring. When I am see…

Until you become interesting, nobody will give a shit where you go. I really like this sentence. It hits at something that I have been looking to improve. I have been pretty boring and conservative (probably my #1 issue) since getting married. I have made some strides in this area but still have a ways to go. Between getting into shape and going out and having more fun, my wife has sort of left the "I don't wonder where you are" place. Right know, she shows mild curiosity but she definitely isn'…

I was fasting when I had the test and they are going to have me fast for the re-test as well. I was in my car driving to a meeting when their office called so I couldn't take down notes. But I do remember the assistant mentioning LH and FSH so I think they are on point there. I am worried about the treatment though. Haha you did, thanks. I hope this puts me over the edge. I workout every day of the week and have managed to be good there. I don't expect T shots to replace counting the calories but if I do get treated for this, maybe it will help to drop this final bit of weight. I appreciate the advice!

I have read up on all of that and I think this will be the issue with getting treated at my regular doctor's office. After talking to a few friends, they said this was the big challenge. One of them ended up having to go to a clinic to get the AI and the HCG. I don't have the time to go in once or twice a week for shots. Apparently they don't allow self-injection at those kinds of places. Hopefully I can find somebody that is progressive in this. I was also told by both of them to stay away from…

This response is impressive. With this kind of bad behavior, it is counter-intuitive to think she is predictable, but I agree that she is actually predictable. I had a friend that was dealing with a wife that was similar, although I don't think it was this severe. She had narcissistic wounds from her upbringing which caused her to completely focus on herself and her wants/needs. A while back, I was looking at my wife and I realized that she rarely smiles or laughs when we interacted. After that, I made it a point to just be playful and see if she would come along for the ride. I have to say that we are both a lot happier. She was sitting on the couch and I got my son and told him that we were going to tickle mom. She screamed for us to stop but loved it at the same time. I agree with both of these points. If she thanks you while doing the dishes, take your wet soapy had and give her butt a hard smack and laugh. I used to think about how I should respond to her if she says X, Y, or Z. But I realized that I was doing verbal combat with a ninja. There was really no winning when engaging like this, unless it is serious and needs to be dealt with. But keeping it fun and playful has worked well for me. We all smile a lot more. That is great. I think this is more of a mental hurdle for me. Because the initial weight came off pretty easy, I didn't have to do much other than cut out a few things and just have a better overall diet. As a big guy myself, I can second this one. The guys that were smaller than me definitely had an advantage in the coordination department. A smaller guy can make a movement faster than a bigger guy, all other things being equal. I played football my entire life and the smaller guys were almost always much better athletes. It is just an agility thing. With a hand-to-hand combat sport, it will just take some time to learn how to utilize what you have. Also, I couldn't agree more about the importan…

Thanks. My thighs have always been defined and muscular. It is weird though. The area around my abs (mainly lower abs) is the only area I want to lose fat. My chest and shoulders are well-defined and vascular. My lower abs are like a small little muffin top. I think I have probably built it up a little in my mind. I have been decent with food. Not great, but pretty good. I am interested in fruit though. I actually cut that out after a trainer friend explained that it is filled with sugar and your body responds to it the same as it would with soda, because it doesn't matter if it is from a "natural" source or not. Just to add to this. I did a few martial different arts for about 20 years and used to do some sparring with boxers. The boxers were in by far the best physical condition. And they were very good at reacting in the moment, where the martial artists would often get thrown off because an opponents attack was different than what they were expecting. The boxers never really expected anything, they just reacted. They were good fighters

Thanks. I have a drink at night as part of my unwinding process but if it's possibly holding me back, I don't want it. Since that is the easiest change to make, I am going to start tonight and see where I am in a few weeks.

90 minutes a week in the gym isn't bad at all. I am so busy with work, kids, and social commitments that the time this is taking is the hard part.

I definitely want people to think it's genetics. I am just a big guy. My body is great at gaining and maintaining muscle. But the downside is it also holds on to fat, apparently. Especially now that I am older. A friend of mine has something like 6% bodyfat. His abs have veins in them and he is just shredded. He actually never even works out other that playing basketball once a week. All he does is eat fried food and drink massive amounts of calories and nobody knows how he isn't 300 lbs. I play…

I was really hoping to avoid going to an extreme to get this done. But I am thinking that's what I will need to do. By the end of the summer, I want to get me back waxed and unveil my muscles at a pool party. And when people ask about my workout, I want to act like I barely do anything. People ask my wife about her muscles and after she explains that she doesn't even work out, they are more amazed

I watch the scale like a hawk. I really need to stop doing that. It has turned into a thing for me. I am getting close, but it seems so far lol

Thanks for the advice. Since I have been hitting the weights, I have been focused on eating throughout the day and keeping my muscles fueled. I lost a lot of fat at first but now that things have slowed down, I have wondered if I should dial back on this. Reducing the calories makes perfect sense. I wish I could get that exercise in by playing basketball or some other sport. I don't really have pain in my knee most of the time but I want to keep it that way. Maybe I need to get out there and tes…

First think I did was cut out beer and that was big. I still like one drink most nights so I switched to liquor. A trainer friend of mine said it is fine if it is distilled, but I am wondering if there are some other schools of thought on that.

This is actually kind of interesting to me. Since kids are mentioned, it doesn't sound like divorce is on the table. But without context of the entire relationship, it is hard to say how big of a problem it is. I wouldn't bring up what I knew to my wife because there isn't an upside, but I would start to look at other things more closely. Also, how many women would admit that they cheated on their ex? My guess is half of us on here have wives that cheated on somebody. And it is almost expected f…

This is a tough one. For kids, the big hurdle is psychological. Even if your kids is a well-trained fighter, he may not be wired to fight back yet. That might even be a good thing. It means he is a good kids and is being socialized correctly. He might need to navigate this one himself and learn from it. Plus, if your son fights back, it sounds like this bully's mom will paint your son as the aggressor. This kid needs a lot of help or he will grow up to be an angry anti-social adult, with real ad…

That is a great point. Standing out for simply not being terrible isn't acceptable in terms of being the best version of myself. I acknowledge that I let myself slip over the years. Fortunately I don't think I let myself get too bad where I can't recover. I probably lost focus a little and concentrating only on my financial standing and didn't take care of my body like I should have. I have had two knee reconstructions and should know the importance of taking care of one's body. I didn't get thi…

I really agree with this. There are times when my mindset is solid, but other times the lack of confidence creeps back in.

I have really started to get into shape and get chatted up by women more. I think the friendliness from other women see to have the biggest impact on my wife though. I just wish I got my act together a lot sooner than I did.

Good point. I would much rather have a woman with a gym body than one of those wives that just let themselves go. I guess it will push me to look better.

That is pretty good for a woman. I want my wife to feel good and I know I should encourage her following me on this one.

Wow, that is a lot of weight. Good job! I know you are right. I would rather have a hot woman in great shape and feel like I need to keep getting better than the alternative.

I wouldn't really say I am intimidated by her gains, since she doesn't work out, but I see what you mean. I do admit that I don't push myself as hard in the gym as I probably need to. I have always been what most people would think is pretty muscular, so I guess I have a little bit of a genetic advantage there and that might be giving me a false sense of accomplishment in a way. I played football in college and stayed in somewhat decent shape afterwards. But having a young family, graduate schoo…

Got it. I have been thinking about BJJ lately. It would be really different than what I'm used to, and fill in some holes in my previous training. The idea of getting a great workout is appealing. I boxed for a short time and came away with the opinion that those guys were the best conditioned athletes there were. I played basketball at a high level and the bowers take the cake on stamina, hand-eye coordination, and power. It wasn't the sport for me but I have a lot of respect for them.

You are right about not going too far in one direction. I try to keep a few comments chambered for when she does get one over at me. I got a sunburn a while back after we were outside all day (she is biracial so her skin isn't sensitive to that), she teased me for getting red. I just told her it was because I was hot. Unfortunately I can't compete with caramel skin.

Good point. If she was a 3-4 NFL linebacker and came off the edge and tried to sack me, she would probably bounce right off. So I guess the bottom line power is what matters in the end. You are right on about the skinny guys and fat girls. Abs on a big imposing guy is a lot more impressive.

Well, sounds like you know my wife. I am twice her size and I think physical dominance has a big impact on her. She is highly competitive, as am I. She will even compete with me when I don't even know there is a competition. Just as an example of what she does - We were leaving a restaurant and walking to the car, when she started running and gets in, then proclaims she beat me. Usually it is silly stuff but maybe she is getting the best of me in her mind. I have been wondering if the testing wi…

It is hard for most people to start and keep a good workout routine. I couldn't imagine how hard it would be to have my wife sabotaging me. That would take a lot of willpower so kudos to you. I just started waking up at 5am and do my thing before anybody woke up, so I didn't have that issue. But she now wants to get in the mix. Can I ask about your MMA training? I boxed and did other martial arts over the years and always wanted to try MMA. I don't have very good ground skills and would like to …

I think this is very true. Most of the time, I feel like my mindset is very good. But I do slip. I am hoping that as I look better, make more money, and be more interesting, that it will be something I never even think about. I really felt like a loser for a while. And that's what I let myself become.

Thanks. I hang weights on my back when I do my pull-up/chin-ups. You are right on with 10-20 pounds making a huge difference. When I lose that last bit of weight hopefully it has a big impact. The weight came off easily at first, but getting lean has been getting difficult. I am over 40 so I think my metabolism is slower and I probably need more cardio and a strict diet.

Oh, she loves when people ask her how much she works out. She plays it off but you can actually see her perk up from it. I do worry about Chad because my wife looks good and I kind of became a loser. A lot of the advice newbies get on here is to start lifting. That is totally correct. It is very difficult to keep a wife interested if you are weak or sloppy. As my body has changed, I have become more confident, my posture is better, and I get interest from other women (that has really helped with…

I couldn't believe she could do that many. I know women aren't really supposed to have that kind of body strength. She looks like she lifts weights but the reality is she doesn't get any exercise other than walking around or playing with the kids. It seems like she is always having to explain to people that she doesn't work out. I guess it's just genetics. My wife has been showing me a lot of attention to my body lately. So I wonder if maybe she really is upping her game. I definitely don't want…

I really like this post. I think like anything, people can take things way too far (though, in some cases extreme measures must be taken). I think about the "I don't like muscles" comment from your wife. They all SAY that but actually respond to guys that have that muscular v-shape and veins bulging out of the shoulders and arms. It's a prefect example of saying one thing, and responding to the opposite. As for the martial arts, that is great. I have been in some form of fighting most of my life…

Thanks for the response. We have a baby and she does a lot after work so I cut her slack because of the situation. The year and a half with nothing, is a different story. I have come a long way but still have a long way to go. I think part of it is confidence. It is hard to feel good about yourself when your wife doesn't want you. That was a big hurdle to get over. I feel like the better I make myself, the more open and willing she has been. I guess I know I need to mix it up. I have become comp…
