We don’t know what’s fair and reasonable because we don’t know their assets and liabilities. Please move on with the BS.

Prioritize the kids and you’ll never regret it.

I bet you’ll be a lot more attracted when you come across the immaturity of the younger ones. There’s women in their 30s with the maturity of 19 year olds. It’s fuckin horrible. Yeah you really like the physical for a while, but the rest gets unbearable after that. I have gone the opposite direction. My woman is 12 years older and I could not be happier. She is also not American and hates the evolution of the American woman. It’s actually really impressive to see someone so balanced. Boss bitch …

Texas doesn’t have it. Establish residency there if you can.

Just make sure you take time to heal, see a therapist, workout, hang with friends, etc. Do everything you gotta do to get right and then let your life start flowing again.

In that situation a man would never be able to still get 50/50. Fuxk the system

Damn I’d think we were the same person if it wasn’t like a year too early.

She has a great job (a job she can only get because I married her to help her finish her college degree). Makes almost 2x more than me. Technically she was the breadwinner. But because Texas, she was assumed to be the more fit parent, even though I had documentation that she wasn’t. So because she was custodial parent, she was entitled to CS, that I had to negotiate out of.

Still not ideal. My mom and sisters family had a house a couple blocks away from my marriage house. Sister and family moved a couple hours away. Mom has health issues with a prognosis, so I moved in to be with her. My kids enjoy it because they’ve always known this house as their house too with their cousins (who are more like siblings) living here with auntie, uncle and grandma. Sometimes I go crazy not having my own space, but my mom needs me and my kids are comfortable.

You can also “pre-pay” child support. A friend’s sister in California who got hers prepaid because the guy was cheating on his fiancé. She didn’t know he was engaged. The guy’s mom wanted to keep the kid away from his fiancé, so he signed away parental rights and gave the mom $500k upfront (they had it like that). Giving up the equity was essentially a prepay my ex accepted.

I’ll take the confirmation of my 25 year lawyer who guided everything, and the judge who signed the decree, that what was negotiated was legal.

You should know better than that. Unless you’re lucky with your location, men play from behind on divorce proceedings. I’m in Texas. My starting line for negotiation was 25% child support and see my kids 3 out of every 14 days. I’m damn near 50/50 with no child support. Fuck outta here.

It’s a combo of mathematical options and my kids. She owed me about 40k to buy me out of the house. But I would have paid her back 120k in child support until my youngest was 18. After deductions and child support I would be living on about 2200 per month + whatever negligible raises for the next ten years. I got child support erased to let the 40k go, but now I at least keep my full check after deductions every month. You could argue that I get a second job if I took the child support route. Bu…

So many women are confused by this concept. I told mine if we didn’t have kids I’d never talk to her again and she couldn’t fathom why I’d feel that way.

Stay patient man. Keep your standards. You’ve had the married (maybe with kids?) life already. You’re not in a rush to create that fantasy anymore. I have found some really, really good women by being patient. I’m talking about way out of my league. The first one my ex wife was hating and did her best to kill it. She won. I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to find another good one like the first. I found 2 more really good ones after that, even if not as good of a match as the first so far. Poin…

My guidelines for my interactions with her are simple. Do I need to do this to positively impact the kids. If the answer is yes I suck it up and do it. If the answer is no, fuck her.

I’m mid/late 30s. I’m not gonna lie, hinge has been very good to me. I met my last gf on there. By far the greatest woman I have ever been in a relationship with.

Document any way she has told you to cut your kid out. Lawyer up and show him. Put all your energy into your kid and you. My motivation is simple: my kids won’t be in therapy for daddy issues.

Still get them and take them to and from school. Just text/email/ofw communicate every single time and screenshot it for documentation.

I’m just gonna say she actively worked against it. It’s too raw right now. She is literally responsible for killing my last 2 relationships. The marriage, and this one. Im going back to therapy over my anger.

I’m just here to say good luck man. I just lost my first post-divorce relationship. I’m in some pain. Similar start. Similar click. She had been single for 7 years to focus on her kid. She’s a 10/10 in multiple areas. My ex wife fucked it up. Yes, you read that right. Just be careful. You never know what curveballs will come your way.

My rebound girl was so similar to my ex it was crazy. A little better grasp on reality but many of the same philosophies and beliefs and mannerisms. My gf that I just lost because my ex wife did amazingly to kill the relationship (for real don’t get me started I’m pissed) was completely different from my ex in every way and I was the opposite of her ex. We were an incredible fit. Not being able to see that one through hurts. Idk if marriage was the end of it, but I would like to have failed on o…

Same bro. Worst part at the end was that she had convinced herself I didn’t love, like, desire, or want to be with her. She put that in her own head. Her own people told her she was making a mistake. Didn’t matter. Nothing I could have done once she convinced herself.

Been there man. The exact same thing down to taking stock of the last photos and videos. Feel terrible for my kids. They did nothing to deserve this but their mom made her choice. All I’ve done from that day on is be there for them. At this point, if my kids end up in therapy, I’ll be damned if it’s for daddy issues.

You have to be careful. Get a good lawyer. With the help of her family she has more resources to throw at a lawyer than you do. Meet with your lawyer about what you have in mind. Be smart and be quick in the process. The more it drags out, the more she can turn the screws to you with her resources.

Tell her you’re considering divorce for reasons x, y, and z. Use the word. Leave nothing up for interpretation. Ask her what her issues are in the marriage. LISTEN TO HER. If she agrees with you it’s easy enough. If she’s blindsided talk about going to therapy and what your goals from it would be.

I don’t like to do it this way, but since she opened the can, maybe use the trip to check in with them to see how they feel or if they have any questions about what mommy said.

I’m around 18k rn. Waiting for the judge to sign the decree. We went to mediation. This woman gave me everything I asked for in mediation. Which I’m happy about. But why did we have to spend $3000 for that one day then if you were just gonna give me what I asked for anyway.

He’s (at least legally at this point) not a perv. He’s has been background checked for his position if he works as a TA in an elementary school. Of course, it’s possible he hasn’t been caught yet, but on the surface, he’s fine. THE MUCH BIGGER PROBLEM HERE ATM, is the stbxw’s complete lack of judgement. Not even the fact that he’s 23, just the fact that she’s bringing EVEN MORE, instability into the kids lives. She’s a complete idiot for that. SHE IS ALSO NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO GETS A SAY IN WHAT …

I locked in on my kids in this process while she went out 4-5 nights a week. We were separated but stayed living together so the kids could end their school year with some consistency. As much hell as it was on me to be there due to her, I have absolutely no regrets on being there for my kids. I took the king sized bed with me when I moved out, and despite having a myriad of options to sleep in at the new place, they choose to be in my bed with me. Is it because dad was the one who was there for…

I’m about a year out on my divorce. I had been with her half my life. Our companionship is all I knew. I met a girl on bumble who I actually learned how to be single from. She was divorced about 3 years, also from a half her life plus more relationship. She would just do so much stuff by herself without thinking. She seemed so free. I decided I needed to learn how to be like that. I’m about 2 weeks past that decision and so far I’m loving it. Basketball, karaoke, watching YouTube, lifting, bbqin…

Just document and see if there are any negative outcomes for your children because of how she is spending the money (not much on them). If you can connect her irresponsibility to negative outcomes for the kids, get back with your lawyer.

Is it worth it? Yes, at the right time. I met somebody 3 weeks after my separation date. We were crazy good together. Like awkwardly better than my ex wife and I in every way. It was so fast I couldn’t figure out how to handle it. Why/how the F is this perfect person here so fast? We just recently cut it off because my divorce finally finalized. The changes in custody took a toll on my kids I had to put them first. I moved out. Too much happening at once. I also had to delay this persons intro t…

Same thing happened to me man. When she finally let it all out, I asked her to work on it but she was already completely done. We were together 18, married 15. High school sweethearts with 2 young boys. It’s been about a year since “separation” but I just moved out of the house because I wanted to be there for the kids full time through the school year to make it as easy as possible on them. I struggled hard for that whole year. But I did it for the kids. Do it for the kids, and even in your mos…
