I feel like this technique is geared more to specific things rather than a whole personality, unless you want to carry around a stack of cards everywhere. However I still it's an effective way to change habits and reactions one by one, seeing the card reminds you of how you want to behave and over time you will remember without the card and "reprogram" your automatic response. I think it depends on the remark. If it isn't something serious I think your method is fine as long as you are being humorous and not acting insecure about whatever the remark was. It shows that you can take it in stride and that it doesn't really bother you. If you were to instead say something like "Actually my height is average" you might come off as uptight and unable to take a joke. I don't feel like a response like this really shows any confidence.
