I somewhat disagree, women are hyped up when they are breadwinners, despite that not really being promoted(the SAHM situation was more of a television ideal than an actual reality for most families in the 1950s and earlier) back in the day where as men are both devalued when they are breadwinner and when they stay at home.

It's not really possible to switch since people only become SAH because another person has a much better career and has to work more to keep up/ grow in their field of work, but it is interesting how being a SAH parent is only more stressful when it's the mother. When it's father, "he probably isn't doing as much as a SAHM would do" and "he's just lazy", a lot of people like to just put down and devalue men whenever they can. Them working to feed, clothe, house and give their family a good life …

Not going to lie, my mom was SAH, it is a lot of responsibility, especially when other people in the communities put a lot of their work on you because "you have the time". It is in of itself a job, you take care of the homefront so that partner can fully focus on their career. Both roles are hard, but very important to do well.

This shouldn't be getting downvotes. It's the same reason why we say being a single parent is hard. Being the one who is mostly responsible for taking care of both the kids and the homefront *and* the working parent is very taxing. You're literally filling in much of the responsibility you would have split with your partner if they had a lesser paying career, even in some financial matters as well like managing the household budget. Both things are true, being a breadwinner is hard and filling i…

I wouldn't say the alt-right is winning, there position amongst young men is weaker than ever. The red pill is a joke now, Andrew Tate, Fresh and Fit, Ben Shapiro and Donald Trump are either irrelevant now or they're almost exclusively seen as floundering idiots. Progressives don't teach "all men bad", misandrists do. The thing is as a former right winger, your point is more true for 2016 and even then there's nuance. There are a lot of left wing male creators that call out misandry alongside ri…

It also whitewashes the historical role women played in hierarchical societies. That's why I hate the exclusive "women are history's victim" narrative. No they weren't, they were absolutely both oppressed and oppressor. A perfect example of this is the Lost Cause Myth which White Southern women organizations like the 'Daughters of the Confederacy' largely helped to spread. Women rulers like Catherine the Great built on existing oppressive structures and made them worse. The Pale settlement in Ru…

Yeah, it's insane how so many supposed "feminists fighting for equality" became just as bigoted towards LGBTQ+ folk as your average misogynist when the target in question were biological men transitioning into women/transwomen. The popularity of TERFs/ anti-transwomen feminists in the wider community is insane. It pretty much has taken over UK feminist media, really goes to show how these people never cared about oppression. After all, transwomen have been demonized as "crossdressers" for hundre…

Nah, 3rd wave feminism is modern BS made up by some women as a cover to hate on men and get away with. Feminists in the 70s weren't dreaming about taking down "manspreading" or labelling guys saying anything as "mansplaining", they were focused on addressing women's issues. What women's issues are these modern supposed "feminists" even concerned about? They're only concerned about hating on men because they hate men. They're misandrists sugar coating their ideas to make them more accepted by wid…

I disagree. Patriarchy isn't the idea that men and women are fighting each other. It's a society that is male dominated which past society certainly were(although many women today exaggerate the lack of agency women aristocrats had and specifically, the role they played in oppressing men of a lower class or of ethnic minorities, Catherine the great of Russia for example set up the pill settlement and was highly influential in erasure of the rights and dignity of Eastern European Jews, whether ma…

Misandry is. 1st and 2nd wave feminism, actual feminism in the 20th century, didn't focus on hating men, it just focused on women's issues. 3rd/4th wave feminists(they keep changing their name because they don't actually have an actual new feminist ideology) don't even talk about women, it's just how much they hate men. That's because they're not feminists fighting for any sort of injustice against women, they men-haters who know that they'll get called out if they openly identify as that so the…

Not really, think about the early second half of the 20th century and second wave feminism. It wasn't about male bashing, it was about getting equal pay and fair working conditions. These modern 3rd and 4th wave feminists don't care about any women's issue, nor do they care about men oppressing women. They care about oppressing and attacking men, that's why they at every opportunity attack areas where men and women are equal. They're not radicals who just believe that every place oppresses women…

Yeah, but now the danger of this is radicalism. Because male spaces are now being wiped out of the norm, it's the Mavericks and those extreme men who often rebuild those spaces in their own Maverick image. Look at how the red pill got taken over by the Manosphere, Andrew Tate, Fresh and Fit, Jordan Peterson, Sneako(when he was on his MGTOW arc)etc. We need to push back against male spaces being outlawed in normal society so we don't deal with every men's issues speakers being a radical who might…

There were mixed programs, but core scouts only started admitting women in 2019. Your point about global scout programs is mute because the US isn't special, those places also had their Boy Scouts get called sexist for not letting women in and so eventually became Scouts. Your point on Social Clubs is weird. Your conflating the concepts of clubs and spaces in general with social clubs. Social clubs are spaces for aristocratic people only. Clubs are spaces that tailor to a specific groups likes a…

So if that's the case, should Girl Scouts let boys in. Wouldn't its girl-only environment create problems later on? Why is it only called "harmful segregation" when it's men who want their own space? Yes, there should be a unified space, but it needs to be separate from the male space. If you want a unified Scouts, make one. Don't try to use "unity" as a cover to target and destroy male spaces. You're not arguing about merging the male and female spaces which would at least make you consistent. …

Seriously, if you see the revealing things women will say about their boyfriends or close male friends, no wonder they're scared of what men might say. They need to keep themselves in check rather than focus on the nothing burger than us. I had gym class for an entire semester and not once was a girl mentioned. Even when guys do talk about girls they like, it's a couple of seconds at most, we don't have time to go on and on about women like that.

It's such a stupid argument too. First off, much of that violence is committed by gangs, groups that traditionally excluded women. Of course you'll make up less of the violence when most violent groups exclude women(not to mention women were often kept at home while men had more freedom). Then there's the fact that much violence is committed with knives and women criminals are much more likely to not be as physically proficient in a hand to hand scenario, then the fact that violence and crimes c…

Because they're not actually feminists. Just misandrists using feminists as a shield against being called out as men-hater.

That's the thing though. It's not actually feminism. Hating on men does nothing to build up women, it's just misandry. The greatest trick men-haters ever pulled was rebranding misandry as "feminism". Notice how supposed 3rd and 4th wave feminists are always more concerned with hating men than actually fighting for women. They won't call out places with historic abuse of women workers, but they will sure call men for... sitting with their legs slightly open on the subway. Then when you call them …

I know, right! Like with Boy Scouts. Yes, they opened up to improve membership numbers, but a lot of women like to act like they don't put a gigatonne of pressure on the organization to fully let women in. There were a ton of civil law suits targeted towards and blogs calling them sexist by standing strong and not doing so. That's the thing, they actively target any male space than say "well you can make your spaces" and it's like "Yeah, we do and then you guys call it sexist and try to shut the…

To be fair, I feel the one with racism is exaggerated. Like 5 people on Twitter said their clear obvious racism towards White people wasn't because racism is power+ prejudice(no, it's not. At most one could talk about countries with racist power structures/influential parts of society that disadvantage one race over the other like the American justice system and the long history of discrimination there , discriminatory hiring practices and voter suppression, but racism as a concept doesn't matte…

That's not a good analogy since people don't date people they're not attracted to in general so it depends entirely on what the specific person likes. Moreover, personality also matters in attraction and for people with serious moral convictions, dating someone with a different sense of what's acceptable promiscuity wise is as much of a no-go as dating someone who commits crime or whatnot. That also plays into attractiveness as well as looks.

You're talking about two different things. If you're a woman that always has insanely attractive boyfriends, everyone will notice as well. That's completely different from being "available" to everyone. No one respects guys that are always going around chasing women. They call them creepy, two-timers, man-whore, "can't keep it in his pants" etc. It's only when it comes to women doing those exact same behaviours in reverse that we now consider it not acceptable to call out that behaviour as toxic…

It really isn't though. It's like saying slut is a compliment because some men will sleep with them. It's still an insult to the person's character and people don't necessarily always sleep with people they respect.

This right here. Degenerates exist, but making out a gender to be largely made of degenerates is just plain sexist. Imagine if people started talking about women's mental health and someone said, "if you were killed today, they'd searched up the killer face and talk about how gorgeous he is", everyone would call that person out as a women-hating man. It speaks volumes that her first reaction to hearing about men's mental health issues was to demonize men.

I somewhat get their criticism though because it is a 17 year old that she's portraying. They're trying to make a 17 year old look like a bombshell and it's kind of creepy when you realize adults are also watching that movie. I thought there are other ways that they could have conveyed that he was attracted to her instead of having scenes that are basically "wow look at how hot this 17 year old is". My only gripe is how hypocritical the people the supposed feminists who criticize this who are. J…

Yeah, because casual sex isn't really good. Most people against prostitution are also against casual sex. Casual sex is just not really a healthy habit and it just teaches you that sex isn't really an intimate thing but just a casual nonchalant thing that you can just have with a lot of people and that non-committal lifestyle harms you when actually want to settle down. You don't go from party animal to stable husband/wife in a day. Those are skills you have to build over your lifespan.

The reason why I'd say straight men's advice on dating straight women is way more trustworthy than a straight women's advice on dating straight women is simply straight women are talking about a field they have no experience in even though they're women. You can live in a house and know what you'd like to have in a house, but that doesn't make you an expert contractor. That's stuff you have to learn and get better at and it makes a lot more sense to ask someone with experience than someone witho…

It's also a flagrant excuse made some women when they want to deflect any blame on their terrible choices of men off themselves onto society when they know full well everyone thought and told them that their ex-partners were trash, they just to date them anyway. Like no Jessica, the bar isn't on the floor, everyone warned you about him and you saw all of his red flags, but you chose to turn a blind eye to them because he's 6 foot and facially attractive. I swear, the difference between an Intel …
