Yes. I read the results of a recent study where they asked women and men who they preferred to do the approaching. I think it was something like 44% of men said they would prefer women to do it (reasons weren't stated) and I think it was something like 72% of women preferred the guy to ask.

No offense, but that's just one thing, and how exactly are they helping there?

Feminism often points out that there are male victims. They don't deny the statistics but male victims are usually victims of men. It seems to be quite common for feminists to point that out, but they suddenly go silent when it comes to the issue of a female perpetrator and a male victim, some even stating that a woman raping a man is impossible. It's funny that they blame the patriarchy for marginalizing men when it comes to victims of rape and domestic violence, but find the idea quite humorou…

I'm sorry, didn't he just finish telling us that the fringe group of women who honestly hate men can't be taken as representative of feminism, only to turn right around and claim the few idiots who make death threats are somehow so much a representative of the MRM that the entire movement should be abandoned? This is the thing that really irritates me. It's parroted everywhere, and I even had a conversation with a friend the other day who said this, right after giving me a NAFALT when I mentione…

Of course. I've had these ninnies hold up a certain Feminist as "good" then when I point out some horrible shit they did, they said "not a True Feminist." And you know, I could totally accept that as an answer if it weren't for the fact that anyone who says something horrible isn't a real feminist, but if they find an MRA site that says something they find offensive, "They're ALL like that!"

That's part of patriarchy theory, nothing can ever be the fault of women if the patriarchy or men can be blamed.

But at the same time I think it's fair to ask why they support a group who has so many visible and vocal people who spout such insane theories and concepts. I think the answer is similar to 1930s Germany (Godwin, I know), crazy people get things done, at least for a while. Furthermore, the belief in the patriarchy is a little more than being unfair on top of being intellectually dishonest. I've seen people compare it to a religion, but my favorite analogy is the comparison with a conspiracy theo…

According to the people I've spoken to, it seems to be a bit of both. Someone has a horrible experience with a man, or multiple horrible experiences, finds out that feminism in it's original form is trying to correct that, and is told about other things that men are doing that hurts women. Men aren't supposed to be pitied for being forced to die in wars, it's the women who lose their male family members that deserve it. No one should be shocked that men don't live as long as women, instead we sh…

That's how this always seems to work. Hear the news, find out the mother was responsible, and then spin the mental illness wheel to figure out how she couldn't REALLY be responsible for it.

It's not just a situation of who 'should' be the aggressor. Last I heard, in some areas the arrest of the male is required.

It's clearly how the misogynistic patriarchy works.

No, my fault, not yours. I'm just wading into this now. Thanks!

I was thinking that if it's the patriarchy, we'll never have to hear any of those accusations from feminists, right?

It helps if you view it like claims made by conspiracy theorists. Even if there's no proof at all, rather than meaning that it's not true, it just means there's denial, cover ups, and ignorance on your part. Basically, a lack of evidence is viewed as even better proof than an imagined slight, because you can point to the grand conspiracy.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
