What about sperm? Should we count sperm as a legal human, too because it has potential to become a baby if it meets the egg? Should we call bloody murder every time you use a sock? Why sperm and not the egg??? Sperm is produced constantly and dies after few days but a woman is born with all her eggs...so the egg is there since the woman is born. And sperm is basically a delivery truck carrying half of DNA to the egg then dissolves, it NEVER develops into a baby, the EGG is the actual living cell…

The EGG of woman is what grows into a baby when fertilized thus all cell organelles and mtDNA come from the egg only. And a woman is born with all her eggs. Technically women carry the the babies in their ovaries since they are born. Read a book dude

Can men make babies without OVUM from woman? BTW it is possible to make babies without sperm via cloning, but a sperm will NEVER produce anything without an ovum cuz it lacks in cytoplasm and other cell machineries and is NOT capable of growing. So yes the CAN do it without sperm.

A sperm cell is also “alive” in a biological sense and is also a component of development, but we don’t treat them as a persons. An ovum is alive too, it's not dead and it's the actual living cell that divides and grows into a baby when fertilized, we don't treat them as a person either. While I am a man myself, I disagree. Men contribute a sperm which gives half of the baby’s DNA, women contribute the egg which is the other half plus all cell organelles and mitochondrial DNA, so even in cellular level, women contribute more. And it’s the women who carry the fetus and give birth so no it’s not really an equal contribution.

Sperm quality declines with age as well. the quality of sperm is very important for a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. As eggs are dormant they don’t get old, recent studies shows because women in older age have partners older than them, the poor sperm quality of older men is causing most of the problems. Actually a 40 years old woman having a baby with a younger partner is way more likely.

First of all women in their 30s are not old to have babies. Also eggs are dormant so they don’t really get that old. Since sperm is produced constantly, more mutations occur there. And old sperm cause more problems like gestational diabetes and autism in babies
