His point stands. Your original question was not very meaningful. One does not need to swap genders of fictional characters, or give kids toys they probably wouldn't choose if left to them, in order to teach them the basic tenets of empathy, or compassion. Edit: And of course, positive attributes like strength of character, or courage, or compassion, or empathy, all within reasonable boundaries, are not 'gay'.
