Ever read Brave New World? In my opinion, this is where civilization is headed. People who would "rather not know" are just cowards in my opinion. If that means that most people are cowards, then unfortunately I would have to agree. The truth often hurts, but it is still preferable to lies in almost every case. I view knowledge as an end to itself, because it allows you to act in a more informed manner.
