I completely understand the point of doing it. I think it’s a bad idea because of what it would mean, to her, if she knew you were doing it. And she can know, because of these apps. Again, as a fellow beginner, I’d love to see an MRP pro opinion on this subject. I think our opposite opinions on this move are both pretty clear.

To add more detail... I agree completely that it would be a game changer, and my next moves would be to accept it and accelerate through to the highest dread levels, to the point where I’m going out and dating/fucking other women. I would no longer be patient about my plan to bring my wife along for the ride, a plan that may require me to get to this dread level anyway. My original point is about looking through the phone, an action that I think has connotations of distrust or jealousy. Because …

How I see it, I’m starting from the point that I want my marriage to survive, and I take responsibility for fixing it, by stepping up my looks and game. If my wife is emotionally or physically cheating on me, as long as she doesn’t get pregnant, I can accept the fact that she got some dick elsewhere while I was getting started on self improvement. “Hypergamy doesn’t care” that I’m just getting started on this. I see looking through her phone as a break from my frame. I’ll either never find out, …

Noob here, but one thing I have learned so far is to never retaliate with a search through her phone. Nothing going on in her phone matters, and being caught looking worried about this, or jealous of something that likely doesn’t exist, would be a major setback.

On dread, yes, I understand that this is essentially female competition anxiety that drives women to action. I’ve read the 12 levels and already have some aspects of levels 1-5 in place, while other aspects I don’t. So I intend to start at level 1 and read the Athol Kay and NMMNG books next, deliberately fulfilling each level before moving on. Right now, I’m not even good at identifying a shit test, and need to understand how my constant availability, even though I travel a lot, is affecting the…

Thank you. I’ll keep this in mind as I put in the work.

Just getting started here. Almost finished with The Rational Male to start out. Getting unplugged. Age 38, quit drinking for over 2 years, been lifting irregularly during those 2 years and making slow progress. I travel for work a ton, as does my wife, and we’re raising 2 kids under age 5. These are excuses for not lifting more and progressing, and I need to put them aside. I lost 25 lbs shortly after quitting drinking, and muscle tone is starting to return. The problem that led me here is that …

I’ll give them a try if the ZMA doesn’t work first. Thanks!

Lifting heavy, yes, but not always to failure. Doing this 2x per week. I’m using a modified 5x5 from an old Bill Pearl article, and making progress. This was disrupted for a little while by work travel, but now I’m back at it. I also signed up with a trainer a few weeks ago, just to do an hour of boxing mitt work with me 1-2x per week. This has been excellent so far. My diet is still a major issue. My home diet is weak and I don’t keep track of it, and my travel diet needs to improve. Going to w…

First post here. My insomnia has returned, possibly due to anxiety about changing jobs, which I am doing this week. Also, my 3 year old daughter keeps waking me up at random times. I have beaten insomnia before, mainly by quitting drinking a little over 2 years ago, and by working out regularly. This time I’m going to try a couple of new things. 1. Cut off my coffee intake after noon 2. Keep a firm 10pm bedtime My main problem here is getting back to sleep after I wake up. A few things I’ll do f…
