Once I started paying attention, I noticed that the only time I really crave sex is when I’m ovulating or just before. Also low quality men appear more attractive when I’m ovulating. So with that now identified I really stay away from men and trying to date during that time, and I’ve noticed the other 2-3 weeks I don’t even think about them at all 😂

He sounds like a massive douche. All that’s going through his head, with all his intellectual blah, blah, blah…is wondering if you’ll sleep with him. Sorry, not sorry. Give this guy the cold shoulder and watch how fast he turns from social justice warrior to woman hater.

Look, men will behave what what is tolerated. I’m more concerned here about both your parents being financially dependent upon you, and you being in the middle of their relationship. That’s not healthy for anyone. I’m not sure your age but barring a severe mental or physical disability, I don’t think grown adults should be relying on their children that way. Same goes for boundaries, sounds like dad is using your computer-again, no. Brother involved in stabilizing their marriage-nope. Best to ge…

Yeah…. Tried to ‘try’ the OLD scene again, I’m in a rural area, work from home and literally zero social life here since Covid unless you’re into hanging around a pub with coke heads. There’s such little night life around here and I am working a lot so I’m not into many hobby groups or anything right now. Anyway, the OLD scene is even WORSE than I recall pre-Covid. It’s beyond dumpster fire. Dozens of messages and not a single one I would even be tempted to respond to. I really can’t recommend O…

Well bless her for the brutal honesty. I would love to be able to be that honest in a helpful way. Seriously. If more men had this message and understood it, there might be some worth dating!

I actually didn’t mention her, other than to stay I think they have an unhealthy relationship. I don’t have an opinion on her at all really, and not blaming her at all. I don’t think any of the 3 are victims here tbh

Yup that’s a BIG no for me, even ‘social’ drugs. Please, drug use is not social. It’s cuts one off from others, oneself and from the spirit. I head for the hills if I hear of drugs use, frankly even regular alcohol use. Nope nope nope. And that is why I’m still single today 😂

I grew up with a girlfriend that acts so much like him. It’s like their souls were cloned, so I feel I can read him like a book. She’s a compulsive liar, sees others as tools or useless and has no real depth of feeling for anyone but herself. Not wanting to slag another woman but I’ve seen this type of character and how toxic it is. Whatever dynamics going on in that marriage it’s really unhealthy, no shock to anyone who has witnessed their media releases over the past decade or so. He’s so swee…

Immature men care about a women’s weight because they want to project to other men an attitude of having superior tastes and ability to obtain women that are seen as attractive by dominant male culture. This is male toxicity being projected onto women and please don’t take it personally. High quality men see women as a person and do not criticize their appearance or berate them. Let’s face it, behind closed doors most if not all men will take any opportunity to have sex with any women, overweigh…

I had a third date with a guy who insisted on cooking for me. He was just ‘learning’ new recipes (learning to cook-as a mid 40s man, abandoned by his last girlfriend mommy). He sat me down at the table and I painfully watched him pull ziploc baggies out of the fridge with everything pre measured and cut for the stir fry recipe down to the last sad little carrot. I was so horrified by the neurosis behind this I could barely eat. Lastly he added a fried egg, which I am intolerant to, but he had to…

Yes indeed. Go to a public place, have an end time and your own transportation, use it like a job interview. Is he someone you consider worthy of your time? Is he polite, respectful, attractive and well intentioned. That can all be determined pretty quick with one date. And then you leave, alone. See how he follows up.

Too much pre-meeting contact allows the emotional ties to become fixed. Next time meet him within a few days and scope it out in person. This guy just has stolen almost a month of your free time, your emotional energy and all the false hope that builds with it. And that is without even meeting him. It’s crazy making. I guarantee if you met with him, within the first hour your douche alarm would have gone off and you would have not given him another thought 🚨

Sometimes the non-example is helpful in this situation. Single mom here with not a valuable man in sight. I want my daughter to also see appropriate male behaviour and be treated well in the future, but I don’t think there is a lot of great examples to point out around us. I often do make a point to comment when I see LVM behaviour being normalized on tv. Poor Marge Simpson, I often comment how that is not how a husband should behave, nor should it be tolerated. My daughter is savvy enough now s…

This is really hard, and I share your pain. I’ve been there many, many times and it’s so painful. Hugs to you. That being said, I want to give you the feedback of this. The past couple of men I’ve dated, I have kept emotionally uninvested. This has been a game changer for me in terms of protecting my emotional well-being in a dating atmosphere. I don’t think it’s going to work and here’s why. It’s not all about getting off and having the connection. If a man can’t stay erect for a whole session, something is up either mentally or physically (bad pun intended lol). Is it pre diabetes? ED? Blood pressure? Can only hump when he’s drunk/ high on coke? He has intimacy issues? He’s thinking about his grandmother shaming him for masturbation as a teen? Personally, I stay away from guys with a history of recovered addiction/alcoholism (even if years clean) now. I also am very cautious if someone has children, not that I won’t date a single Dad but I clearly ask why he is no longer with the mother of his children, does he pay child support, does he make an effort to spend time with his children? Does he have more than one baby mama? That’s a deal breaker. Is he gainfully employed? If a man has dependence on his mother still, that’s concerning. L…

Wow. Very interesting. I was given a little buddy’, I was in grade 5 or 6 and he was a few years younger. Looking back now I would say, he was a classic ADHD kid from a neglectful home. I honestly think men have done to to women forever, long before internet and pick up tip books and 98% of the time it is completely unconscious on their part. They tear down the woman they are with because they have their own self esteem issues and have learned toxic, sexist bad behaviour from their own dysfunctional families. Still so important to be aware of. And call them on it and shame them for it before you walk away.

Absolutely. I used to tell off my ex and think I had won. But he always came back for round 2. Once I blocked and deleted my ex, I felt the most amazing sense of relief. I stopped doing the dance, and initially he escalated…badly. Like banging on my door and trying to break in badly. So I called the police. And every time he again tried those games, showing up where I worked etc. I would not respond, other than call the police. Bad behaviour has consequences. Now if he sees me, he runs the other…

Oh I hear ya, that is the raw deal. But at the end of the day, when your kids are older, they will be smart enough to know you truly have their back and were there for them 100%. Women have been bearing the brunt of child raising for eons, the crappy part is now we also have to bear the financial burden at least in part, due to economic and social changes in western society. It really chaps me that men can simply walk away from their familial responsibilities these days and they are not held acc…

Just wanted to add, nothing worse than a cheap man. Ugh. Gross. Please never go in on shared debt with a man. Go to court first and have his share of the debt court ordered to be paid. I’m 8/10 years through paying off the loan I ‘shared’ with my kids Dad. He never put a dime towards it. $30,000 and 8 years of child support never paid. Imagine how that $60,000 could have helped our child in the past decade. Never share assets with a LVM.

Seriously I can ring off about 12 women I know in the same boat as you just off the top of my head, all of them still WITH their loser husbands. TBH I wouldn’t be shouldering all the blame on poor partner selection. Many men present as offering more than they really do, and parenting isn’t for the weak so a lot of them truly show what they are made of (or what they are not made of) when they become fathers. My NVX left me high and dry when our daughter was 5 weeks old because it wasn’t ‘what he …

I disagree on the cooks/chefs note- have not met one single man from the restaurant industry that is not full blown addict/ alcoholic. The lifestyle of working late, drinking on closing. Sleeping til the afternoon lends well to it. But your points on the others are well noted. Edit for terrible grammar.

Oh I meant to add the BC registry database here Sorry, I’m not familiar with the sites for other provinces though. Hope that helps.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/09/21 02:14 AM

Yeah you cannot search for sex offender status, but if they have been charged for any crime in BC, sexual offence or traffic violations it’s searchable by first and last name. I assume it the same for most provinces. This information is absolutely public as long as the offender is charged as an adult and there is no current publication ban to protect a victim. Yes I understand the criminal background check system, this is different. Any past or present charges will show but if you get no results…

If it’s a criminal offence it’s is listed in the province court lists or search the name on the court website.

Interesting post, especially like the ties to codependency. I sort of see it though as a byproduct of poor attachment. It’s almost as if a poly relationship is the result of needing to have another person to limit the closeness of a pair bond, and diffuse some of the intimacy that actually may occur from a monogamous pairing. I see a lot of men say, ‘oh I can barely handle one woman’ but I don’t think it’s really about that. I think these poly set ups with one man and multiple women are actually…

Same, with my ex. He was just shut down emotionally. LOL I like the term constipated. Completely unable to express any emotions, or feelings or affection. Would be large value gifts instead of expressing love. He had no problem expressing dissatisfaction and dishing out put downs though. Any communicated need by me would be dismissed as immature or unimportant. Living with someone like that is totally demoralizing.

Thanks, it’s very interesting, the perspective shift. I use to chase guys and thought that was taking control of my future. But alas, my history speaks for itself. I met a cute guy at the park today, it seemed perfect we talked and got along well while our kids played -but I did not say anything to connect with him. It’s impossible to turn off years of female training to please a man, get male attention, be what he wants me to be, stuff down what I’m thinking, ignore uncomfortable feelings etc. I find I have so much cognitive dissonance trying to date now, it’s definitely a process to see things differently and know how to respond in a way that’s safe and appropriate for myself. LOL good reminder. Last one I did it was coffee, then a big walk, then a sit down dinner. I was a sweaty mess by the time we arrived for dinner, we ‘bumped into’ his Mom on the walk, and the date ran over 5 hours. It was like a 3 in 1 date with someone I just met and got a family intro. My head was spinning and I accepted a second date with a man I was not attracted to at the end, dodged a kiss attempt and I suddenly felt invested or obligated perhaps . Hmmm tricky.
