I think his essay may be true for a very specific case : the very pretty rich and young women. You know, the Olivia Jade type who seems to be vapid and to just... happily exist ? But i dont think it's a stage that can lasts forever, life happens, you get children, you face sickness and death, your beauty lessens...

I think he is a mysoginin the true sense of the word : he doesn't value femininty and doesn't really understand the female experience. Most women say that since having a child they never have a day without a worry. Men are not caring in that way and therefore don't experience that mental stress. The nuturer role is not easy, it is hard, ungrateful and can get quite physical. I also don't really agree with the mental work bit either. There are more male geniuses but female iq average is slightly h…

My parents had a traditional marriage. It made me critical of the tradcon lifestyle. My mom is overly dependant on my dad and he makes all of the major decisions. Overtime it fustrated her a great deal and I pitied her and kinda saw my dad a s the bad guy. Now, I have a more nuanced view of it. I think that as much she liked to complain about having no agency in her life, she didn't actually want it. When you're dependant you don't have to deal with responsability. It was great to have my mom at…

He spent one day alone in a subpar location. And yes he is more upset about that and for good reasons. Basically things added up but this was the starting point of the issue. That’s why I’m trying for ways to make up for it.

He looked and booked the plane tickets, help me get a visa to visit him and planned a trip to visit me too.

He said that though he would have liked me to tell it earlier and in a more appropriate time. He doesn’t care that much about it. Mostly because I had tried to bring it up earlier at some point but he cut off because he wanted to stay in a good mood and he remembers. He said he is mostly mad because of the organization thing

I had planned trips before. It went well. This one didn’t go well though but I didn’t do it to impress him and I didn’t volunteer. He suggested the trip, the country and then I chose the area in Italy and the place. You’re probably right about the whole focusing on myself thing. It was the initial plan. We studied together for 6 months he was an exchange student and I first rejected his advances as I wanted to work on me. We kept contact he then came for a one year internship here. And we starte…

Thank you for your answers. We just talked. It probably was not good timing but he kept asking what was wrong with me so I brought it up. He doesn’t want to break up with he just said he is pissed. He admitted he overeacted because it reminded him stuff that some people did in his childhood. We both have emotional bagage and we are considering to have a break until September. But none of us really want to as we enjoy eachother’s company. I don’t think he is pretending to be into it because he do…

All of this a bit historically innacurate though. The whole « women had no rights until feminism happened » is what feminists want us to think. The women’s status varied greatly accross history. You were better off as a woman during Louis XIV era than during the Napoleon’s era for example. And feminism was born in Anglos country because I think protestantism has a tougher purity culture than catholicism or othodoxy. There are also testimonials of young women being devastated to be forced into ma…

I feel like it really depends on what kind of man you are looking for. As soemeone who grew up in a upper class, international envoronnment i can say that uneducated women are given the side eye. Our moms don't work but they all have masters degree because being a housekeeper in that lind of environnment is different : are you well traveled enough to be able to talk to our different interna tional acquaintances without being offensive ? Preferably in your guests mother tongue ? Will you be able …

I'm very competitive but I've always seen the competition as a competition with myself. Am i doing my best ? Am I pushing my limits? Or to put it another way : would you be proud of yourself if you won a race when everyone else has only one leg ? I know I wouldn't that's why i don't retain info. Also if sometimes i am not number one I tell myself that even if'm not the best at everything I'm among the best. It's the difference between being a big fish in a slow river and a small fish in a tumult…

Thank you for your answer it was really interesting. I'll do like you said I think. What you said about still being attracted to your husband is really interesting. It shows that things aren't as black and white. I'd like to take care of my kids but i'm not good at cooking and stuff. The main sub makes it sound like I'm doomed to be attracted to super manly men with whom I'd always be in a power struggle.

I like that you stressed that RPW and TRP are different because i find the latter subreddit simply off-putting. I would never want to date or even be acquainted with one of them

Yes I think it's good to be femnine. I also don't like the "girly girls are worth less" mentality. I've realized that I struggled with my own feminity because of two things : being really book smart and a lot like my dad that I look upto a lot.So my dad understood me and was more able to help me in lot of ways (being the weird one in a group, accepting my introverted nature etc) so I equated being like my dad with being like a man. Also, african people have really different standards of beauty. …
