7	My English teacher believes in the .77 on the dollar myth, what can I do to enlighten him? Should I even pursue this or just let it go? Antagonizing your teacher is not a good idea. You're not going to change his mind, only make an enemy of a person in a good position to punish you for disagreeing with them. Waving around a gun does not defuse situations, by drawing you're escalating the situation and if you're not ready and justified in shooting you're going to make things worse. Breast cancer is one of the cancers that can be screened for at home, and early detection has a major effect on the prognosis. There's not a lot of other problems in the world which can be helped simply by reminding people that they exist. So it's taken overboard because it is so simple to contribute to.
