The virus is not an imminent threat, someone coughing on you has not generally been held as a reason to use force against someone, if you are aware of case law that saws otherwise, I'm happy to change my opinion. (missing element 2) Second, while she was the aggressive one she did not attack (missing element 1) Third, he clearly was not in fear of being injured, and given the situation, I find it unlikely a jury would decide any fear he claimed was reasonable (missing element 4) Fourth, even if …

That is not how self-defense works. There are four elements required for self-defense: (1) an unprovoked attack, (2) which threatens imminent injury or death, and (3) an objectively reasonable degree of force, used in response to (4) an objectively reasonable fear of injury or death. Many of those elements are missing here. This is also before we get to the numerous state laws that require a person to retreat and only allow self defense in cases where they can no longer retreat.

I'll join you in the downvotes, because you are 100% correct. This isn't self-defense. This isn't a pass. He would have been arrested no matter who he punched.

Which is itself a stupid statement. "I support X, but I don't think Y is the right way" But does not contradict the beginning section. There are many more examples where but is used to state agreement and support while still providing additional information.

Men would have to be taken seriously the majority of a time to even get a meaningful number of false male accusers.

Here is Jezebel and Lena Dunham sporting the view. As I am sure you know, Lena is a prominent feminist and Jezebel is a organization that promotes feminism.

you should have 3-6 months of income in a liquid account specifically for these kind of events. You are assuming adults start with that 3-6 months. getting that 3-6 months of savings requires... saving.

There are many obvious and non-obvious expenses from having kids. Medical expenses (additional doctor visits) before, during, and after gestation. Time off work (it's a rare woman that can go straight back to work after having a kid and a rare family that can afford to only have one parent working) clothes for an additional child Diapers Formula if breastfeeding is not an option Babysitting (parents need a break sometimes, and family can't always help) I could list others, and go into the additi…

Citation? Debt really isn't a great measure regardless. I'm over 200K in debt, but that's called a 20 year mortgage that I'll have paid off in 13 if all goes well.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that is correct too.

America bleeps Gordon Ramsey to make it seem like he swears a lot more than he does and make his commentary come across worse than it really it. I watched the British version of Kitchen Nightmares and there are a bunch of phrases he uses regularly that don't have any swearing, then I watched the US version and they bleep those line to make it sound way worse.

Just the standard overly broad questions and definitions. I find it funny they have 10 sexes including nonconforming and not listed, but they collapsed everyone into male or female.

Trump's bad, Hillary's bad. People just flip a coin as to which they see as less bad. Some support Trump specifically because he isn't the average political candidate, but mostly it's just a case of everyone sucks.

True, though this is where state law becomes interesting. Depending on your state, if it is your property, you don't have to announce you are video taping someone. Even then, just a sticky on an outside window serves as notice and many won't think of it. For example in my state as long as you don't record audio, you don't have to announce you are video recording someone in most cases. Without going into details, if I had that kind of recording, I would have been saved a massive fucking headache …

But that person could afford all that. You don't have to be rich to get a surveillance set up in your home. Cameras can cost as low as $10-20 each brand new (and used will often get you by) then you just either set up a few VHS players (also cheap to get) or spend a little more to build a cheap computer that just dumps video to your hard drive. Depending on the size of your area you can build a security system for ~$50 (single room) to a few hundred (full house) If you have $50 expendable income…

And yet they are still required by the government to obtain certain positions and clearances, are used by the police at times, and are required by some colleges and universities if someone is brought before the tribunals.
