Annoyed. They're empty gestures, and I'd prefer if someone wants to gift something then they should put effort into finding out what the recipient wants/likes

Was never a justice system, was always a legal system. Important distinction that one aims to uphold justice (complete fantasy) the other aims to determine the flavour of law that best benefits those in positions of power or privilege.

Both hatred and stupidity. Custody battles are expensive in the form of thousands at the bare minimum. To the idiots they think Father's that don't (can't) fight for custody they're deadbeats that don't want their kids. Add onto that the high likelihood of parental alienation, withholding parental rights (more legal costs), financial abuse (claiming no support when really they're demanding more than courts ordered) and eventually some guys have no choice but to throw in the towel. My old man had…

'It's outrageous, and I have nothing but negative feelings towards the draft-dodgers,' she says. 'If people hadn't been running away from mobilisation perhaps we would be making more progress with the de-occupation of Ukraine." Pick up a weapon yourself then. So many women are capable of doing what they're forcing the men to do but crying that they shouldn't have to. …

One is a gender. The other is a political hate group with no redeemable qualities. Saying not all men is valid since people can choose not to be affiliated with said hate group.

It does since, in both cases, crimes are being ignored. Rape is still rape unless the government changes it that only a certain group with a particular set of genitals can commit that act. Domestic violence is always determined to be the man's fault unless an outside third party attests to the woman being the aggressor (sometimes not even then). Gasp shock and horror how surprising there are no female rapists when they can't force insertion, only force to insert which is outside that legal class…

Only since females can't be charged for rape unless they're stupid enough to use something to force insertion. Otherwise, it's at best a charge of sexual assault. Domestic violence that was initiated by only one party is significantly more keyed in female offenders (over 70%), and due to the Duluth model, it will still result in men being the ones arrested. We constantly argue over victim complexes by people like you who make baseless claims and excuses for why women can do shit like this and wh…

Nope, kinda goes against the basic principles of being a feminist.

False allegations account for nearly half of all accusations. If you're trying the 5% bullshit that's only the ones that actually make it to court, similar to how idiots try and claim only 1% of rapists are charged (only 1% of accusations are proven true to allow charges) If an accusation is genuine, victims have no reason to believe they'll be charged with a false accusation. If they're horrible enough to make a false accusation, then they deserve this outcome.

If you bothered to read the next 4 words in that sentence, you'd have your answer
/r/MensRights02/09/24 11:18 AM

That's exactly what the feminists do. Only they make up bullshit stories or alter stories to make women the victims instead of the perpetrators. Until feminists are a dead and gone extremist faction, I'll ignore any request saying it's on men to keep the peace. Also, before you jump in to call me a woman hater, I don't hate women, I hate feminists.

So you'll face prison, fines, and loss of government benefits. Or have to restart life elsewhere purely for being male. All whilst women don't have to even consider that hell, hence the problem that needs to make it equally fucked for both genders or removed. Since the government needs the option of a meat grinder in potential cases of war that leaves making it equal. Round and round, this argument goes.
/r/MensRights07/06/24 10:40 PM

Selective service is just a fancy draft, I'm not American but pretty sure every male (and only males) need to sign an agreement when they turn 18 saying they'll accept the possibility of being thrown to the meat grinder in order to get basic government benefits
/r/MensRights07/06/24 10:33 PM
22

But they won't, so make it equal. Once women start dying, then it's a possibility the draft will end since it's affecting women. Right now, it's not, so there's no political incentive to remove it

You ignored the main point of the rebuttal. A woman can walk into the ER after taking a slightly larger than prescribed dose of any medication and claim it was an attempted suicide, no possibility of it resulting in death but the statistics based off her words will result in her claim being taken seriously. Most self-harm incidents are marked as suicide if they reflect certain area of the body (wrists), meaning women's numbers are artificially inflated by a significant margin. Most men don't go …

It was a choice made to mutilate my body with legal approval. I ended up with a severe infection that has caused deformation and susceptibility to UTIs. There is no benefit to the procedure being done other than "it'll look weird otherwise," which is a horrendous take on mutilating your child's body. If you can convince them as adults, go for it, but keep this shit away from kids.

And you're asking for something impossible. Where in any court records anywhere on the planet will a judge state, "I wouldn't have made this decision if the victim was a girl." We can infer data from results, like lower standard sentencing for women in general, family court bias for mothers, false accusations, etc. A three second Google search gave me a result showing a mother getting no sentence for murdering her son (4th result), switching words to daughter does not provide anything as easily …

Well, with that logic, women would benefit from having their teeth kicked in when they start shit. "They have a lot of pain, but it is not a pain that I would necessarily have spared them. I understand that perspective. I spent 3 months in holding conditions after being charged by a group of three. I don't have to. Plenty of women are more than happy to scream about how little they supposedly need men. You might want to work on convincing them of these benefits instead. Most men want their partner to be happy, which inevitably leads to being dependent since men have always been seen as disposable labour providers.

Bullshit. Marriage is so far in favour of women the fact that it still has guys willing to enter into a contract the other party benefits failing baffles me. Women are not forced to leave the workplace. They choose to do so, and men can not force them to leave their jobs. The consequences of that choice are on them, most stay at home mom's only need to be out of the workforce 3-4 years before the kid enters school, and free time opens back up to re-enter the workforce. Both take different responsibilities. In your scenario, the man is working to support an entire household financially (which in general for middle class results in higher hours and low time off). The woman stays home giving her financial responsibilities to the man in favour of caring for the home. Once the relationship ends, she no longer cares for his home. Women are not forced to pay alimony and child support to the extent and degree men are. Women are also not sent to prison for failing to make these payments in the rare circumstances they have too, unlike men who are jailed regularly.

Claims like that aren't helpful. Neither men nor women are inherently bad and there are good and bad on both sides, trying to claim the entire gender as culpable for a major issue just invites more problems, as those that could originally be willing to listen will end up shutting off interest with comments like yours.

It's funny that when 'only 2%' of false accusations are proven or charged as such then it means that in the eyes of feminists 2% is the justifiable figure, yet if 'only 1%' of rape charges go through it means that the real number is much higher. The big thing is that for the concrete proven cases on both sides you have 95% of cases falling into the area of unproven where they could be on either side. It also doesn't distinguish between self harm and actual suicide attempts. If an individual comes in after making cuts along their wrist area that is still counted as an attempt even if it's obvious that there was no intention outside of self harm. Don't disagree with that matter in the slightest, bodily autonomy should be up there with every other base right. I can agree that people are talking about it in a moderately respectful manner, past that there is still more of a majority talking down the needs for Men's Rights at all. The rights for abortion will only help women as they would have the total deciding factor of when the kids come into existence, men would still be stuck playing ATM if they decide not to abort like they have for as long as I've been alive, we've never had the right to sign ourselves off of child support payments (even when the…

As much as I want to agree, I also push buttons to force them to see their own hypocrisy. I've reached the point where I'll just make a snarky comment saying "well as a man I've never had those rights and since feminism has made a massive point to keep men out of this discussion good luck fixing it yourselves now" If they get their rights back it's a good thing, if they don't it has absolutely no impact on me so I don't really see any reason to give a shit. It's not a feminist excuse it's human nature, any large enough grouping of people will eventually attract unstable or extreme individuals, every religion/political ideology/fanbase/sports club etc have crazy people attached doing shit that makes others cringe and the people opposed to that group highlight them as the majority. Don't try to make me out as attacking anyone for saying there are bad eggs but that doesn't reflect as the Men's Rights community being bad or extreme.

Every movement has it's extremists and it's darker side, saying there aren't MRA's who hate women or are outright misogynist would be a bald faced lie. /r/MensRights16/03/22 10:12 AM

There's a reason for the fear though, you mentioned them yourself. Being afraid by itself isn't sexist, it's a reaction to a rational or irrational situation that you want to avoid. When that fear becomes 'I refuse to deal with them' or 'They are bad because I'm afraid' you encroach on hate and then become sexist.
/r/MensRights16/03/22 09:58 AM
19

I think there should be a difference between fear and hate. Fear can be irrational and irrational behaviour you aren't in control of isn't sexist. Hate on the other hand is a decision you make and can be sexist, I admit I hate feminists but I don't hate women. This is the same with any factor that is a difference between broad categories that people can't control to decisions in life they made that focus them into a group (political choices, religion, fandoms etc)

If the response requires changes for genders (no idea how that could be relevant honestly) then that's up to policy makers and legal experts. However coming up with 'we're going to fix violence only for these people by blaming these other people' then you have a major problem in how you're representing people and causing unnecessary division. Anyone can be subjected to any type of crime or violent act, there is no gender in potential victims who need support.
/r/MensRights14/03/22 12:35 PM
