Blaming the victim, protecting “their own“, minimizing the offense... Rape is the most underreported crime because the trauma already lived is compounded in a trial. We lend credibility to purported rape victims because it is a heinous crime and because over 90% of them turn out to be true. Also, why wouldn’t you believe it about a man who went on record to say he grabbed random women by the pussy? Not only that but has a history of paying them off to shut them up.
