| 1 | “We need more male mental health professionals” is something I’ve been told and “men should be more willing to go to therapy”. Is something else. This is an excerpt from an introduction textbook in my grad program. I wonder why men aren’t going to therapyActually, the reason why men kill themselves more often is because they are more successful at it. Men choose a more violent way to kill themselves, like shooting themselves, while women choose a way like swallowing a bunch of pills. Attempted suicides are actually higher in women than in men. Also, therapy is not easy for anyone. Almost all people who actually stick with therapy had to go through multiple therapist before they found the one that suits them. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 11/09/21 11:46 PM |
| 1 | The “creepy ugly guy”If you see eachother on a regular basis, most women by then know whether you actually are a creep or not, they don't just assume based on looks, they see you on a regular basis and have a picture on how you behave. If they still spread the word that you're a creep, you are probably either truly a creep and don't see it or she is just attention seeking. Most women won't spread the word that you're a creep, unless you behave like a creep because most women are not attention seeking. But some are, … | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 11/09/21 06:32 PM |
| 0 | The “creepy ugly guy”It's unfair but I don't see how it can be dangerous. At least not to the extent it is for women. Most of the time, the consequence is that women don't want to talk to you. Sure, it's unfair, but it's not really dangerous. Now, if you keep pushing it when the girl clearly doesn't want to talk to you, that's on you, and that definitely classifies you as a creep. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 11/09/21 06:26 PM |
| 1 | The “creepy ugly guy”To be fair, that type of advertisement is dangerous for women. We are made to believe that the attractive guy can do no harm, when in all actually, hot guys are just as much jerks, just as much abusers, just as much rapists. It paints a certain picture and makes women ignore red flags. Doesn't mean that those ugly guys aren't creeps, it means that hot guys get away with being creeps far more often and women suffer the consequences. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 11/09/21 06:19 PM |
