Their reasoning is mostly due to their idea of masculinity.If she feels like by him doing this makes him less masculine in her eyes, therefore she loses attraction to him. This is a preference and isn’t homophobic. Homophobia, if you cared to look it up in the dictionary is someone who dislikes homosexuals, shows irrational fear or shows hostility to them.
