It’s an un-winnable battle unfortunately. I’m just hoping in time she realizes it just hurts our daughter in the long run but being 4 yr old now she hates doing the after care and loves on the days I have she gets to home like everyone else. Eventually she will despise her mother and I’ll fight for sole custody in a few years. The courts just look at age and automatically state Mom should have more time

It’s a grey area and each state has its own rules. I have a similar situation where on my Ex time she has to put our daughter in after care but I’m able to watch her she refuses to allow me so I refused to pay but she’s demanding I pay 60% of it. It’s a 100% retarded way to think if I can spend time with our daughter and not have her spend hours in after care on her days I should be allowed to but NJ is fucked up

That sucks man sorry to hear. It’s going to be a rocky road moving forward. Get yourself a good lawyer and follow his advice. Don’t do anything that will jeopardize your custody with your kid. Well in the end it comes down to can you afford to do an endless fight. Also are you a blue or red state (yes it matters) If you don't mind blowing the money to fight go for it your kids are worth it and who knows your EX may just give up. If you can't afford it then you have a tough decision. Oh I agree my divorce shouldn’t have needed lawyers or trial or anything but my ex hired the scummiest of lawyers that dragged it on for 2 years. In the beginning I just wanted to be done with her and eventually my lawyer talked me out of it and go for what is legally fair so I get it.

Please don’t take this personal but why. Is this what your lawyer suggested? My divorce was in NJ and from what I know through friends and family Alimony is Texas isn’t very common (could be wrong) but seems like your giving her the moon when she wants the stars. Hopefully the mediator brings her down to reality but also sounds like if you go to trial the judge is gonna be in your favor since you’re offering a lot.

Well that seems pretty much cut and dry. Typically women ask for the moon and stars and the mediator brings them down to reality so you may be in a good position if that’s the only things your stuck at. For me it was everything so I wish you best of luck.

Pending on your state if mediation fails they may have you do an intensive settlement conference and you don’t really wanna do that. Atleast for me it was sitting at the court house from 9-5 paying your lawyer to be there all day trying to come to a settlement if not you head to trial. But not sure if all states operate like that but I would imagine there is some variation of it

They don’t typically look at statements or evidence for that matter. They would look at the CIS which should list all financials and go off of that.

Well first question is what type of mediation there’s custody, finance etc. Most cases each side comes up with there mediation memo to inform the mediator of the current issues at hand that both sides can’t agree on. They will separate both parties. They will listen to one side and give there opinions then go to the other side and go back and forth. Pending how many issues at hand are still unresolved they will try and tackle one at a time. All my mediators were useless and just a money sunk but…

2-2-5-5 works when the kids are little. Mine is currently 4yr old. I would imagine doing the one week on one week off is rough at that age but when they are older that would be my preferred choice

I wouldn’t recommend because eventually you’ll come to your senses and realize that was not the smartest move and it’ll cost you more to go back and try and change the mistake. Mediation more times then not is a waste of time unless you simply just don’t care about then why do mediation just sign whatever they want but again you’ll eventually regret that. Fight the long fight it’ll be worth it in the end

Most mediation is a waste if one party is refusing to change there stance. I went through several rounds of mediation and all we accomplished was pissing off the mediator and getting thrown out. Good luck to you

That's typical one side uses the law the other uses outrageous demands. Just don't sign anything you not 100% happy with. You will fail in mediation several times before you can come to some sort of agreement but don't be afraid to go to trial and fight for what it right

Yeah it sucks but it's how the system is set up. TBH i never really understood why so many men walk out on kids or kill there ex wives but having gone through the process it's pretty crystal clear why. It's a system that benefits men and pretty much only that. Women want to be equal when it benefits them other cases just play the victim and get everything handed to you

Yup I went down that path. I'm divorcing in NJ so of course states matter but basically the judge didn't really take anything my ex said without any evidence and not He said she said. Mediation was a huge flop because my ex wife refused to partake and delayed for months which only pissed off the judge. Just find yourself a good lawyer and you hopefully are OK. My ex wife threw everything at me and we won in the end. Keep your head up it'll be a roller coaster ride

First off depends what state your in If divorce is in your future be the one who files you will control the narrative. More than likely she will turn into someone you never knew existed. Isn't a straight forward answer. Kids ages, state you live in, who's got the better lawyer and how does litigation go way to many variables In my case it's now going on 2 years that I'm fighting for 50/50 we have a temp order in NJ for 60/40 but my child is only 4 i refuse to sign that so I'll fight until all options are exhausted.

Ok so I’m currently in the middle of a divorce in NJ and my STBXW put in the court order for FaceTime calls daily.
