You grew up in a time when that seemed good. It doesn't seem so good anymore. Higher risk, lower reward, and steeper curve.

No expert, but I like words. Here's my take: The best illustration for you may be a mental image. Picture a 16th century man in need of a job. He signs up to work on a shipping crew for a voyage to the New World. The moment he steps on that boat, he is socially committed. To step back off would make his peers see him as a coward. The moment the boat undocks, he is physically committed. The only way out would be to jump and swim away, probably to his own death. So, commitment is voluntarily stepp…

You're going cold turkey on your soon to be former addictions, which is excellent. But take heed: find yourself something else to do. Something interesting. Maybe something you've never done before. I know you wish to take up writing, but your brain might not be interested in doing anything else than what it's been doing--so maybe throw a curve-ball at it. Take up hiking. Or cycling. Or birding. Something outside if possible, away from where you spent your obsessed days. Something with increment…

Somebody please parody this, swapping Ms. Queen out for Joe Indian Guy From Down the Street. Might actually be funny, and it would ironically trigger the ever living hell out of the people who enjoy this BuzzFeed trash.

Have you ever seen one of those movie trailers generated by artificial intelligence attempting to emulate human creative work? This video has a little bit of that same feel to it. Through the whole thing I kept thinking, "how did actual human beings create this?" Because nothing about it felt human.

I think calling a relationship "successful" in a summary fashion makes no sense. Relationships are not static, they are dynamic. They might be successful one moment, and failing the next, but still be maintained. The end of the relationship is not its failing, but its destruction.

Keep it inside, never show it to a woman. The only person you can trust with your insecurities are very close family members, maybe a good friend, who might at least relate in some way. But never a woman, not for a single moment. She will feel little or no empathy, and quickly lose respect for you.

Quite frankly I think it is not overrated, but under-valued. People treat it like currency, or eating a sandwich. Willy-nilly, anyone you find attractive and have known for five glorious minutes. Or something to be traded for emotions, or used as a tool of manipulation.

I think women more or less spawn with a decent level of potential for those qualities, but the post-feminist meta usually prevents substantial development of those qualities, often in early game. I've also heard that their respective anti-qualities are often buffed in some players during the early-mid game transition period, particularly in University career trees. Ever since finishing the American high school career branch, I tend to play hermit style outside of my temporal profession, so I can…

Couldn't care less. More to do with two factors in my best estimation: 1. Is she financially responsible and smart. 2. Class differences can be a barrier to entry for any kind of relationship. I say this as someone who grew up middle class but is po.

Not sure if "incel" but I may as well be as my social standing outside of work is basically zero, so I'll answer. Minecraft, cycling; would do more hiking if I was living back home, but I'm currently in Alabama where the woods are death by insects and heat in the summer, and death by standing water and cold wetness in the winter. My hobbies, unfortunately, do not include spending copious amounts of time awkwardly socializing with strangers, hoping I'll be lucky enough for a friendship to develop…

Girl power. My God. Every third ad on TV, some big budget movies and TV shows that can't write a female protagonist without casting in-your-face pseudo-masculine traits on to her. "Because you're worth it." Unrefined empowerment for the sake of empowerment. An endless litany of catchy songs with vapid, ego-fondling lyrics and a bad attitude. I am a WOMAN, hear me roar!

Day three: they still think I am a transhuman time traveling monk. No one suspects my masterful ruse. I am like an invisible ninja who is invisible, but not really because I am not invisible, for I am merely in disguise.

You may not be a Christian, but I think the Bible happens to contain something of an answer to this conundrum: Jesus said not to divorce your spouse except for "marital unfaithfulness." "I hate divorce!" God said in the Old Testament book of Malachi. But He never forbade it. Summarily, divorce is evil but allowable, maybe necessary, under some circumstances. Of course this requires us to define what exactly is "marital unfaithfulness." And before we do that we have to define "marriage." Given th…
