I think you are right with regards to anything regarding my bro / SIL. There is always going to be bitterness there and I don't think that relationship is going to work at all. Everything blew up last night after the topic was revived. I've definitely got my work cut out with keeping my marriage alive.

Yer, as soon as she said "are you doing the standing up to me thing" I just went silent and carried on with what I was doing, it was silent for a good minute or so until either of us said anything.

This is where building my own confidence and standing firm to my frame is something I need to seriously work on. Imaging doing this is getting my heart-rate up...

Yes, I'm aware that she is hyper-sensitive to anything my brother does and sees most things as a personal snub directed at her. She will in no doubt see something she doesn't like. In the end, it will be her decision not to come to the party if I decide that he hasn't done anything to warrant being uninvited.

Thanks for the tip on "Why would I need to stand up to you?". Actually staying firm on my stance is more than I've been able to do in the past so will save this for a future exchange between us.

I realise the red flag, we had a big confrontation at our wedding about my brother, where his little kids would sit (we [read she] wanted them at the back, in case they cried during the service), brother, mother and sister-in-law, didn't want kids and sister-in-law at the back, so kicked up a fuss and ended up sitting at the front. Whole thing was handled badly and now SO believes brother and sister-in-law is out to get us, control anything they are invited to. "She's choosing her over him". Thi…

That's a good thought. Intensity hasn't been my primary focus at the moment, my 25 hours included just over 13,000 ft of climbing, that slowed me down a bit. I'm currently focusing on distance with an aim of 1200km in Aug. With the events I do, it can sometimes it can be difficult finding these foods at 2am in the middle of the countryside. Next event is 600km so will focus more on fruit and rice and see what difference it makes.

I'm interested in the whole endurance side of things as well. Experience has shown that carbs and fats are the best for me to keep up endurance. I wouldn't say I am 100% lean, but have pretty much 0 body fat on my legs, eat "normally" i.e. I don't watch what I eat too much, but try to avoid too much sugar. Can happily ride 250 miles in about 24 hours on a diet of full English Breakfasts - Fats, carbs and protein all on one big plate...
