Why the fuck would anyone do this? Marriage is a broken institution where all powers a man could use to check hypergamy have been stricken from the law. It seems to me the ideas are complimentary. Band of brigands raid and plunder their enemies, and then reinvest those into their own children/property to keep hold of the plundered resources. Maybe the family served as the home interest, whereas the mannerbund served as the political, business, and military interest. Like, the family is "where do i put my money?" I'm wondering if this proves the idea that once the female group has institutionalized their hypergamy in the social and legal code, decay becomes inevitable and eminent.
