Wouldn’t the same logic imply that a heterosexual person not wanting a romantic relationship with someone of the same sex is a bigot? I think the vast majority of us would agree that is a silly statement. You’re attempting to redefine bigotry to fit your argument. But that doesn’t fit with what the rest of the world agrees on what is considered bigotry. You don’t get to redefine terms to make your arguments work - this is the definist fallacy.

I’m going to have to disagree with you. If you’re not super attractive, you do have to work at setting up a good profile, if you’re a guy (I had to figure out setting up a good profile). Once you figure that out, it’s not bad.

It’s worked for me (talk for several minutes and then ask them out). However, I do admit I’ve only done it a few times. When I was single, I got most of my dates from apps.

Maybe we just have different styles? The women I got dates from this said they liked my confidence. And I was just summarizing what I do. It’s not actually that abrupt in the real world. And, apparently, your style works for you. My point really was that when people say ‘read the room’, they’re not giving useless advice. There’s a lot of guys who just blindly ask someone out regardless of the circumstances. Apparently, you’re not one of them.

Ok, I think I’m confused. Why would you have a the number of women you just met? Unless you already asked for it for a date?

Maybe my small talk style works better for it than your style? It comes off naturally when I do it. Or do I actually need to explain a full scenario?

It’s cringe but it’s gotten me dates? How’s your approach working?

It’s really not. It’s a basic social skill. Start up a conversation and observe how the woman with you’re interacting with is acting. Are they smiling, laughing or seem engaged in some way? Are they actively participating in the conversation with you? If so, then that’s when (assuming the conversation’s gone for at least a couple minutes) you say something like “I really enjoyed this conversation. Would you be interested in learning more about each other over dinner sometime? Here’s my number if…

That’s mostly true but there is a small subset of women who thinks guys that dress very well are attractive just because of that. I’ve dated a couple women that had friends who dated some unattractive guys that dressed really well but the friend thought the guy was very attractive because he dressed well.

I do talk to a therapist. It’s not something bad. It’s something most should utilize. It’s definitely something someone should take advantage of if they have social awkwardness. Talking to anyone isn’t necessarily going to lead to anything. Just talk to people to be sociable and nice. It will sometimes also present you with the opportunity to ask a woman for a date. Most people don’t meet from cold approaches, period. But you can - I have. And there are definitely wrong ways to do it. Perhaps yo…

Normal people have no issues talking to strangers when you do it appropriately. Talking to your server, to the cashier, to the person sitting next to you on a bus or plane, to people next to you in a line at the grocery store or concert? Perfectly fine. If the person doesn’t seem to want talking then end the conversation. Approaching someone randomly and having nothing to talk about in the context of the situation is going to be awkward. You should probably avoid that. If you can’t talk to peopl…

I actually have some advice. Talk to random people, both male and female, and have a friendly conversation. If you do this regularly, you’ll be more natural talking to a woman you’re interested in because you’re just doing what you would typically be doing anyway. If one of those time happens to be with someone you’re interested in, then ask them out at the end, assuming the conversation is going well. Something like, ‘I really enjoyed our conversation and would like to learn more about you. Her…

You’re drawing false parallels. Comparing finding an attractive, low body count man to a becoming a CEO is specious at best. You’re also draw conclusions from single or small dating sampling, in your example. Actual preferences instead of perceived preferences can be measured. It’s just not feasible in all situations.

In the link, it states ‘…conducted to determine the impact of target individual's sexual history, mate value, and gender on evaluations and relationship interest.. ‘ It’s measuring what people say their preference is and not their actual preference. People could be dishonest. Or sometimes how people act in the real world is different from how they think would act (even when you account for other factors affecting attractiveness of individuals) If you had actual, detailed dating histories you cou…

This study uses bad methodology. This study just indicates what people say they would do, not what they would actually do. To get the actual the actual effect of body count, you would need some detailed accounts of people’s dating histories, which would probably be unreliable, or do some unethical dating experiments.

Having a decent personality is achievable for most men, though. Combined with average looks, good hygiene, an okay job, and confidence and that is sufficient to be successful in relationships. These basic areas are all achievable for most men. Being exceptionally rich, powerful or handsome is not. Most guys fall down in one of the basic areas that I mentioned and that is why they fail. It could be any one or more those areas, but is usually personality or confidence based on my talking to women …

Being good at flirting isn’t necessary. I’m successful at dating and I’ve been told by multiple women that I’m a good conversationalist. I’ve also been told by multiple exes that, either, I don’t flirt, or I don’t know how to flirt. I actually never try to flirt because I’m pretty certain I don’t know how and I haven’t found it necessary to learn. I’m average in looks, height and weight but I’m confident when dating. When first dating a woman, I never initiate conversations related to sex but I …

It’s definitely the confidence then. Confidence is an attraction multiplier in men, for many women, and it can positive, zero, or even negative.

It’s fine to have insecurities and I’m not mocking you for it. And it’s a valid (but non-optimal) choice for these insecurities to affect who you choose to date. People should be honest with themselves about their insecurities, though. It will allow them to work on themselves and lead to better relationships and overall more personal happiness. For example, if someone is sexually insecure and doesn’t date someone who, except for having had a lot of partners, is a perfect match for them, then the…

Personally, I don’t care whatsoever about a woman’s count as long as she is disease free. Of course, she has to be compatible with me in other ways but the count, in itself, makes no difference and I don’t think it should matter to any guy secure in himself.
