The limit as a denominator approaches zero is infinity. Infinity is not a number or defined.

Exactly. Men don't care about women's career prestige.

Lexus cars are so awesome. I love Toyota :P. I drive a 1998 Camry myself, but someday I hope to buy a used Lexus. I hear that you can put a lot of miles on them.

You’re totally right. Trump winning was a huge sign of a cultural pushback. Thanks for the examples. Hope things get better for Canada as well. Sounds like things are worse there politically speaking (regarding the men’s rights movement). Although I wouldn’t really know, I’m just an ignorant American haha.

It just feels like they have everyone with any actual influence in their pocket. College professors, celebrities, the media, politicians, you name it. But yeah, maybe the blatantness of it all will finally catch up with them.

I subscribe to this sub because it’s interesting and I believe in the ideas here by and large. But I have absolutely no faith that anything will change positively for men’s rights for at least a few more decades. Honestly, I think things have gotten substantially worse over the past 20 years.

Exactly. I know a guy who got a divorce a few years ago because he was emotionally abusive (no question about the abuse- I witnessed it with my own eyes / ears). I was really happy for his ex wife and his kids when I heard about the divorce, because I really felt bad for them when I saw him verbally abusing them. At this point, I feel a pity for him. He needed some serious intervention regarding how he treated others / managing his anger. What he did was wrong, and I’m glad that they got divorce…

That’s not true. All people are initially attracted to looks, and then they come to know you ‘as a person’ through conversation. As the adage goes: Looks get you in the door, and your personality keeps you there.

I hadn't seen the TRP justification for toxicity, but I never go there. I totally believe it though. I guess that you can act as you want. I wish both sides were kinder to each other. That's not going to happen though. I mean I was vile to you with my initial comment, and I am sorry about that.

And you would term those as precursors to violence correct? I mean I don’t think every harassment well eventually lead to violence, but almost all violence probably had harassment occur beforehand. Hence the (valid) concerns about rape culture. Thanks again for the perspective. Sorry about the harsh words before. I just didn’t like the absolutism in your first statement.

Ok. Thank you for the explanation. An assumption != fact And honestly, I can’t empathize, but I can at least sympathize. It must really suck to be at constant risk of being treated violently. And I recognize that you can never know from whom violence will come from. I can’t blame you for your assumptions. They are just saddening you know?

A lot of men say untrue things on this sub. You know that. > Any male attention beyond basic courtesy comes with strings, obligations and agendas. That is bullshit^ I, and many other men I know, have helped women with zero sexual interest in them. To say that one gender is entirely selfish while the other isn't is absurd. Somewhere on the level with both FDS and incels.

Not much at all. I mean, yes my attractiveness is something I can (and do) influence, however I'm mostly satisfied with my efforts in that department. I exercise, eat well, practice good hygiene, and I'm quite tidy. My self worth is probably about 85% tied to my conscientiousness and diligence. I feel pretty worthless when I under-perform in a class or have an unproductive day.

These ‘powers’ are not comparable. They aren’t the same caliber. Dying is worse than not having sex. A broken arm is worse than not having sex. I’d say not having sex is becoming less and less of a big deal given the new prevalence of porn, fleshlights, cam girls, phone sex, and even video games and tv can sort of fill the void.

Idk op. I kind of like the friend zone personally. To the point that I actually friend zone girls. I mean you get a friend (wtf is bad about that?). You don’t need to be all committed to them, and you can still do fun things with them and talk to them. You develop your social skills, and maybe get introduced to their friends. It’s kind of sad that some guys view all women solely as something to conquer (aka have sex with them).

Honestly I really agree with that last paragraph. Men complaining about not getting sex... it’s like... bruh, you got two hands and some lotion don’t you? Not having sex really isn’t that bad. And before anyone says I can’t make that claim- stfu. I’m a 23 year old virgin male. I’m pretty happy with my life.

The wage gap. Most people who bitch about it don’t understand it (or how that 78 percent is measured). Fact: The average woman makes 78 percent as much money as the average man in a given year. I’ve literally heard feminists say, “Women make 78% as much as men for the same work.” It’s like, if you don’t understand your own issue that you’re bitching about, then you really shouldn’t be bitching about it. Zero sympathy. Also, it’s a weird hill to die on. Like, you’re never going to achieve a one t…

Good question op. Started our sorta Republican as a kid, but wasn’t really thinking for myself haha (because I was a stupid little kid). Then as a teen I delved into libertarian thought a lot; listened to hundreds of hours of Tom Woods. As an adult going to college, I was pretty open to other ideas (I still am to be honest). Disliked SJWs (I mean who doesn’t). Got my first GF, and early in our dating, she said, “Hey, I’m a feminist, but that doesn’t mean that I hate men.” I’m like, “lol ok. No p…

I'm already tall, on a good career path, skinny, fairly muscular, very clean in my living quarters, and I shower every day. I mean those are things that I actually want to do/be you know? But I don't think I'd fit the FDS definition. I'm way too cheap to take people on expensive and elaborate dates, and I frankly don't consider anyone entitled to that treatment either. I think the FDS crowd does feel entitled to that. And as far as texting back often goes, that's a really subjective thing. I tex…

Exactly. Models are, by definition, incorrect. They are just guides for understanding the real world. Models work pretty well for math and physics. Fairly well for economics. Not super well when it comes to individual human decision making. And that's what TRP is, a model to understand the decisions that individual humans made.

What the other guy said, and also just being willing to work / do stuff. Like I’d want to do some work on my car and wouldn’t have minded a hand or company with it, but she was honestly just a pretty lazy person. A lot of why I broke up with her was because she wouldn’t even take care of herself (skipping college class a lot), wouldn’t exercise / eat right, and she wasn’t ambitious with her long term goals. Edit: she was also constantly on her phone browsing Instagram.

This honestly was kind of the problem with my last relationship. I paid for literally every single date we went on. I didn’t mind because she was broke and I was making good money at the time. The problem was that she never really did anything for me. I mean I enjoyed her company, but she didn’t really show appreciation / reciprocation for what I sacrificed for her.

Precisely this. The Venn diagram is two circles that don’t overlap. It’s a beautiful thing. OP’s post makes it seem like all men are TRP and all women are FDS. Most women I’ve met are very courteous when it comes to the monetary aspects of dating.

With all that in mind, what kind of feminist political actions regarding the 'wage gap' do you think we could see in the future. I mean they'll never stop bitching about it, so either things will change or they won't (policy wise- not outcome wise). We already see company diversity quotas, but what could happen next?

You're right that humans are a lazy bunch. Hence why weight loss 'solutions' are, "Eat this pill once a day and lose ten pounds a week!" All those easy solutions are all bullshit, but people are lazy and want to believe in such things. It may be that men will use money to seek 'attractiveness solutions' because they don't want to go to the gym and get ripped :P. I mean look at Axe products...

I mean part of this aspect not adversely affecting men is by them just not giving a fuck about it though. A good example was a couple weeks ago. I ordered some baby wipes from Amazon (because who doesn't want a clean ass?). Amazon shipped them in a baby wipes box with their label on it, so you could clearly see what it was. My roommate got the package and brought it in for me and said, "Uh... I guess this is for you(?)" or something along those lines. Kind of like, "wtf dude." And I just said, "…

> It can be hard to find love if you're not an attractive guy. It can be rough for anyone, but I do believe guys have it harder. See, this one doesn't make sense to me, and I'm an average looking guy. It seems to me that women's value is based on looks much more than a man's value. That is, an unattractive woman probably has a harder time dating vs an unattractive man. 1) Your percentage is arbitrarily derived. 2) Men, for the most part, don’t date fat women. Probably in comparable proportions to the number of women who won’t date short guys. Your ‘far, far shallower’ seems to indicate that you believe that there is a great disparity in the proportions. 3) Before you say that fatness is something they can change, yes, yes they can, but it’s not easy. If you don’t have your first kid until after 35 then you’re going to be old by the time your kids are teenagers. This is huge. The younger you are when you have kids, the more time that you’ll get to spend with them, and you’ll be more physically able to do active activities with them. Also this snowballs into spending more time with grandkids / seeing grandkids grow up.

So basically the issue is that women see the top 80% of men (thru media, news, porn, etc), and then assume that that's the average? I.e. "most men basically look or are supposed to look / be like that, and I just need to find them?" And if I understood that right, why doesn't the same thing happen with men's perspective? Women tend to complain about unrealistic beauty standards, but it seems that the data indicates that the unrealistic expectations don't affect women nearly as much as it affects…
