Language isn’t a closed system evolving with no relation to the society that uses it. Language both reflects and constructs the social systems of those who use it. If we can't acknowledge both sides of the argument, how are we any different from the hyper-feminists who say the world would be better without men? Doesn't that just make us animals fighting for scraps of a whole truth we'll never know?

The author pretty clearly separates the general being of man from toxic masculinity in stating (although not outright) that masculinity is toxic when it resembles the likes of Don Draper or Charlie Sheen, not that it is inherently toxic. They even go so far as to point out that men are very much ignored when it comes to encouragement to succeed when the deck is stacked against them.
