They call her their bonus mom. Her daughters and my daughter call each other step sisters. When I met her it was in the beginning of the summer and I was determined to make that summer just about me. Once we started talking that went out the window. I've never been happier and it's not about investing time. It's about happiness and just how happy you are which right now I am the happiest I've ever been.

Not long. Married 21 years. Mostly amicable with ex. Moved in with parents during divorce process for 2 years. Bought a motorcycle, then a house, and I'm only a school teacher. 4 years after finalized got engaged to greatest woman who has entered my life, other than my two daughters. Life gets better.

I did pay $1600/month for my two girls. That hurt. They are 25 and 28 now. Luckily no alimony.

Don't give up. I was paying $440 a week for my 2 girls and I'm a school teacher. I was working 3 jobs to her 0 jobs. Did I get screwed? Yup. But now I have a truck I bought new, got the Indian motorcycle I've wanted, a house and have $$ in the bank. It does get better. Keep plugging away.

It's a tough talk and lots of tears, but your son will be ok. My girls were in middle and high school when we told them. We are close, even though they both live out of state, on their own. On another note, as a teacher make sure you, or your ex, let your son's teacher know about this. His behavior may change in the classroom and you want to keep on top of it. Best of luck.

Good question. I really don't have a good answer. I worked 3 jobs to her 0 jobs, believed she needed to be home for the kids when they were in middle and high school. Went on vacations with kids while I worked. Got mad when I went out with my friends, never got a long with anyone on my side of the family, always did things with her side of the family, among a plethora of other things.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
