You probably were downvoted probably for the last sentence, but I think this is actually how most people see this sub from the outside. I'm not saying you're right or wrong, just stating that.

Anecdotal, but where i live i've never witnessed personally any slut shaming. But i've seen virgin shaming so much that it doesn't surprise me since i was like 14.

You know what? We should even ban everyone who doesn't think like us! /s

Someone is really sad and he is just weak and kills himself. Yes, that's most likely how it's seen. Specially when men do it. That's why it's a MRM issue.

This is so fucked up.

No. Amazing. I don't care for a fucking 14 y/o projecting tumblr feminist crying the fake static over the internet. I fucking care if the fucking UN WOMEN references it in their fucking website. That's the stuff the MRM should care about, I think. Not mundane at all.

This is the sort of people taking me away from the subreddit and the movement. Just plain old misogyny, and fuck you if you don't like me using that word. It's just the same hate-spilling garbage tumblr feminists does with men. It's fucking disgusting.

Thank you, Morichalion, you and people like you is why this sub is still worthy.

Why do you think this will cause trouble with feminist groups?
/r/MensRights03/01/14 08:47 AM

Because MRM is pretty recent and we still haven't established the differences between masculinism and machism, for example.

I like the point you rise too. Why does still the opinion of women weight so much on us.
/r/MensRights10/12/13 03:42 PM

Yes. The point being, make women accept it's like this. Read the title again, is about the double standard. Men can't choose women based on their bodies without being jugded.

I'm going to be the guy who's in every thread who congratulates this sub for his honesty and self-awareness. Because it's necessary and somebody has to. Thank you and the people on this sub with a head on their shoulders. Correcting on a fact even though it goes against your believes means a open-minded, critical person. I hope the MRM is full of people like this.

Before some circlejerk responds this with "Feminism", I'll answer, even though how retoricall your question is: Nobody. It's all a big stereothype maker. Women are the victims (therefore they can do no harm ever), and men are the evilness (therefore they can never be victims). Both genders get fucked arround and arround. And since I feel recent feminism has failed to acknowledge this and prevent it (even encourage it, debatadly at the bad use of the "feminist" label), I think this is one of the …

But it is. As long as men are the ones who pressure other men, it is going to be our fault. The single biggest win in woman's liberation was the bond they developed in the beggining. Men have lost this; masculinity was something that used to be praised. Now it's not. And as much as this sub enjoys to blame feminism (many times rightly so), there isn't really going to be a change if men continue to pick on other men. Sorry about the rant, but that's just how I think it is.

I find it interesting not only that some of the answers are about women saying the do feel insecure in certain situations only because they don't know the men arround her, but also the percieved assumption that every woman feels unsafe in this situation, or even "at any given time". PLEASE, abtain to make any comment in the original thread. I posted it because it's interesting to see the concepts some people take for granted ( /u/thetylerh seems to assume every woman feels this way), and the ans…

Even worse, one person tells him it's his fault. The guys said she is more sexual than he is and he was very adamant about it. But no, she felt pressured and he shouldn't had made such a big deal about fantasies.

So you basically bottled up? And why did you felt the need to mention how much you make a year?

My abusive father was abused by his mother. I want to break the cycle of abuse, and tried so by writting him a 44 pages letter telling him why I wanted zero contact from then on. I hope I do well. I feel I'm too young to tell you something really meaningful, but maybe you'd be interested in reading my letter, if you give me some time for translating it (Enligsh is not my first language). I know you said you had no kids of your own, but I speak a lot about abuse and manipulation. It's the only th…

I was raised as a stoic kid, to bottle things up. My teen years were painful, but I was able to handle them thanks to that. But was the loss worth it? Now I'm 19 years old and in a life crisis. I teared up at least with three of the most innocents posts of this thread. I don't know how to open up, how to vent, since all my life I was taught that ALL ways of letting it out were not a man's. I am not vilolent (I don't even like sports), nor do I cry even when alone. Bottling things is not an optio…

These are amazing. The Big Red video is almost an easy example, which you'll get hand waved with a "but that's wrong and she's not a real feminist", but you could use the card with some people. Also, I'm from Argentina, and I'd like to know what's the state of the law regarding men's rights and specially rape. Any ideas how can I get this information?

If it's bad genetics, then they can't really be blamed. And you're leaning to much into the aesthetic part, and I guess your mom and dad told you when you were little that the inside is what matters.

She was actually the lucky one, but not because she was fat. Good for you for making her your ex. Abuse is something you don't fuck arround with, no matter the sex.

Well, just for the sake of responding: doesn't really matter how you talk or if you are not judging her or not, but that with that kind of attitude we won't go very far, because really, it seems like you are just giving up on women or that you think they are all close mindded and it doesn't really mater. I can be cold and to the point most of the times, but in this specific case, being so makes you seem like a douch who just says "meh, all women are the same". And as you can see, the issue was j…

Don't forget "rape". You can rape with arguments too nowdays if you are a man.

I meant the girl, not OP. And that's exactly the thing. Yours didn't seem like an advice at all to me. "No. Don't talk to her. She's like a 12 years old." If we get technical, yes, it constitudes an advice. But the harsh, closeted way of saying it (maybe that's not the right word, I'm not so sure. English is my second language) just made me think of those feminist who say that all man are the same, or some other sexist bullshit. So I'm just going to repeat myself: this kind of attitude doesn't d…

Excuse me for a moment, but you don't know this woman. How are you entitled to give this statement? What if she's actually open minded and that's actually why OP gives a fuck? Sorry, but you are doing exactly what you are saying about 12 years old girls. You know what? You probably are correct. There's a high chance she won't listen. But having that attitud doesn't help men's rights. Isn't it easier to give this guy his statement and let him discover how "women" are regarding sexism?

I guess I've read a little of that sub. I guess it's one of those places where nobody ever wants/gives a real analisis or advice on a situation, but more like a cool down place where everyone gives/recieves what they were wanting to hear.

Glad to see people like you in this sub. As much as I love it, seems that sometimes this gets too much in the "women are evil" train, so kudos to you for fixing your relationships and bringing that here. The kind of abuse I see a fucking lot being done to men is the complete lack of privacy. She can read every single one of your texts. And your facebook conversations. Because what do you have to hide? Of course, this also applies to men, but strangely I don't recall a single relationship where t…

Yeah, I actually don't agree with you, ligament, but the downvoting circlejerk in this subreddit is fucking annoying me. Case in point, this other conversation I had earlier: http://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/1b70zv/whats_it_like_to_walk_around_as_a_male_knowing/c94ckt3

Make her read some of what is said in Men's Rights about domestic violence. If you think she's a good girl, she'll understand and this will be happily fixed in your relationship.
