This is the answer. Every answer telling you not to go is selfish and puts your feelings over your daughter and being a good father. Anytime you have a chance to be at something for your kid, be there. End of story. She will notice and she will remember, whether you go or don’t go. It’s not a difficult question or concept.

Here’s the deal. The worst parts of divorce are going through it and then getting over it. Do not put yourself in an endless cycle of false hope, thinking if she’s nice one day that means there’s a chance. She moved on and it doesn’t take two people to turn the divorce key. Stop wearing the ring. Start working out. Go grab dinner or a drink by yourself. Sit at the bar. Meet new people. Talk to new people, even ones you will never see again. Start remembering you can thrive with or without a part…

There is a light and the tunnel isn’t that long. You’ve done the hard part by grieving the end of it already. There are other hard things, like not being under the same roof as the kids. However, you’ll discover they are just fine. After that, it’s a feeling of relief. I say congratulations without any sarcasm. It’s a good day to finally stop focusing on something that makes you miserable and isn’t working.

Divorced parent with some experience on you. It sucks. I recall Christmas Eve 11 years ago. As my now ex and I discussed our future while wrapping gifts, I realized it was likely the last christmas we would spend together as a family. I was right. So, it’s not another day, I get that part of it. The next Christmas was the first time my kids didn’t wake up with me on Christmas morning. It’s a blow, no doubt. Although it sucks that some traditions ended, it really is an opportunity to take a stab …

This is the answer. Your kid is asking you to go. It’s literally no effort on your part and it will make her happy. I attended joint b day parties when my kids were younger, then they sort of faded away as they got older. Man up, be uncomfortable and don’t give a F what she posts on SM or try’s to get the world to believe. It doesn’t matter even a little. Go, don’t make a scene, then go home and complain about it to your friends.

Echoing all the comments. However, I’ll share the revelation that helped me get over. This shut used to bother me too, couldn’t care less now. I don’t trust a word my ex says to me. Not one thing. Not only to I care whose fingerbanging her, I wouldn’t believe it if she told me. What she says to me has zero impact on me emotionally, except wishing my kids had s better role model mother.

If it’s not to late, it sounds like he can’t afford not to lawyer up and go to Court. Depending on the state, she is probably entitled to half (but not all) of everything, including his tools.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
