My husband and I have a similar agreement. I do not ask him for help around the house or with the yard except for rare instances where I can't lift something. The way I see it I can't go help him out when he is at work all day, so why would I ask him to help with my job? We don't have kids and it certainly does not take 8 hours + a commute a day for me to keep the house almost perfect. That said if we have kid it will be a different story especially if we have multiple kids. If you are pregnant …

Is giving of yourself really the same as giving yourself like a thing? You can give someone your time, love, energy, but they don't own you? Humans aren't an object that has to be given whole. We can give parts of ourselves. You originally said it makes no sense to give to a man and that you think of what men can give you. Why even consider taking from someone if you aren't willing to give? Again maybe I have just completely misunderstood you.

It would have been the same then?

Because you love each other? If my husband builds me a desk isn't it natural for me to want to make him a good meal or rub his shoulders in return?

True, I guess the two kind of blur for me. If I was so sure I could get someone better than is it very different than thinking I deserved someone better? Sorry if it didn't relate

haha Maybe, in my case I have a huge family, not the same as a spouse but I would never truly be alone. Also maybe I was naive but at the time I didn't realize I could run out of time. The concept of the wall didn't occur to me.

Maybe I am misunderstanding but this sounds a bit depressing. If a man has to give you something shouldn't you give something back?

hmmm well when I say standards I don't mean "oh I am a seven so they have to be at least an eight". It was more that I knew I was capable of finding someone who was a better person than me. My standards were all about positive character traits: patient, kind, generous, etc. Never did I or do I think I deserve someone better than me but I knew I could end up with someone like that anyways. If you know you can end up with a six figure job why settle for flipping burgers? My only "shallow" standard…

It isn't that I think I am better than most men but that I wanted a man better than myself. Being alone was more satisfying to me than dating below my standards.

Red pill tends to only see hypergamy as woman wanting a man that is way richer than the woman. Doesn't hypergamy just mean wanting to be with someone better than you? Isn't everyone a bit hypergamous than? Aren't these men looking for woman that are more attractive than them? My husband is poor, when we met and dated he didn't even have a car, I paid for everything and drove him around. This was blasphemy where we lived but in my mind I still traded up. My husband was the kindest most generous p…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
