I don't know, I've known a woman who did something like this... Pre-cell phone days (Just when they were coming out), I'm driving a girl home after a date, a woman who'd I'd been friends with for several years, but had only just started dating. I think it was our 4th date or so. I had been having great times being with her, enjoying her company and whatnot. So on the drive back to her Parent's place I tell her that I'd like her to be my girlfriend, mainly because around that time I had a few gir…

I agree. She wants out, let her go. But no spinning the wheel for cash and prizes. You go out like you came in. If you arrived a broke ass you can leave a broke ass. No pleading for alimony based upon, "I'm used to a certain quality of life!". No kidding, and you deemed that quality of life was not compatible and are ending it. You don't get an allowance now.

For a lot of people Nihilism is the first stop after being redpilled. However, with time, the perspective changes to a much more positive one. It goes from, "Life has no meaning, we're just biological evolutionary drives." to "There is no arbitrary societal goal that I'm failing to live up to, I'm free to make my own choices." It's a very freeing feeling when it first washes over you. It's like the first time you think and truly believe that most peoples opinions about you have no worth. "Why wo…

you gotta realize that having kids is the meaning of life basically, thats one of the only things MGTOW i feel like doesnt realize For you, that may very well be the path you choose, for everyone else, it is up to them to determine what path they walk. That's the whole point of 'going your own way', determining for yourself what you want out of this life and working towards it.

Before Covid touched down in the US, I'd meet up with a group of friends every Saturday for lunch before continuing on to visit with my Parents for the evening. My Parent's are in the 'vulnerable' category due to age, so I discontinued meeting the friends and limited my visits to my Parents to about once every 5 weeks. One of my buddies starting hosting a 'Movie Night' on a Discord server and basically we watch a great 'bad movie' and have a total MST3K experience. (Think movies like: Sharknado,…

offering to work for free on their projects in return for experience. This can be critical when trying to learn a new skill and depending upon what occupation can easily get you valuable insight into the industry as well as get you contacts. Granted, you do have to guard yourself against exploitation sometimes, but I've encountered that more with acquaintances who have no idea how much work something will take but have unachievable expectations. "You're a programmer?! Great, I have this idea for…

Firstly, you're a hormonal teenager. You are literally warring with yourself during this timeframe. Biological drive vs Reason. Loneliness and longing for the familiar are natural, especially during these lockdowns where we don't get to interact with people and get various needs met. I totally understand and at 3 decades older than you, it still occurs within me as well. The trick is to remember that that relationship was flawed and to let it go. The old, "Don't sneak out to the trash can and br…

From the perspective of a son of a Father who would do odd jobs and maintenance for local Farmers on the weekends in trade for Eggs, Milk and whatever vegetable was in season, I had then and now, nothing but respect for that man. Knowing that we had little money that his normal week job paid barely anything helped me grow up knowing some important life lessons. My Father and I had a very rough relationship growing up, but in this area I never found fault with him. His example of work ethic, the …

Do you find it more rewarding that chasing tale? I love that this statement has an inherent double meaning. Yes to both. I find it much more rewarding than chasing physical tail or the fairy tale. After kicking the last LTR to the curb, I've been flying solo for the last 4 years now. The chaos is gone. I'm free to follow my own goals without having to consider the feelings or goals of other people. It's incredibly freeing to not have to cater to the whims of another person who demands you take r…

Dude, never communicate with this chick again. She is straight-up mental. "So I woke up thinking... who in my life is continuing to rape me, ..." Then she proceeds to indicate that she believes you are that person. Dude, beware this chick and the crazy pouring forth from her delusional brain.

Those commenting may very well be perfectly happy being single. However, studies and statistics relating the overall happiness between the sexes over the last 50 years (it's higher for men, lower for women now compared to the 1970's), the rate of drug and alcohol usage amongst women and the antidepressant usage being on the rise seem to indicate a different interpretation of what's going on with the women in general.

I guess you could qualify what I do at home as a side hustle. But my money earning hobby has been Livestock. Egg laying chickens primarily up until this year. I initially got into them as just part of a personal food security plan with a possibility of getting into raising Broilers for myself, friends' and Parents' consumption. I found I preferred the egg laying more after starting with a dual-purpose breed that lays approximately 280 eggs a year. People at work kept inquiring on whether I'd sel…

and keep thinking about questions like ' what is my purpose ' etc. This is good. This is a positive mindset to be in. Work towards having at least a temporary answer for this question. What I mean by that is, you don't have to know what your ultimate purpose is yet, but find an interim purpose to work towards. Don't think poorly on yourself if you change your interim purpose fairly regularly. It's important to re-evaluate your path to see if its truly getting you toward your goals or if your ide…

Throughout your post you indicate that you don't view women as equal human beings with agency. You only ever refer to them as being affected by things rather than the agents fully participating in events. What you seem to be overlooking is this agency. Women are reducing themselves to mere sexual objects. This has been a push since the sexual revolution of the 60's that they can participate in debauchery just as much as the most debased men. They focused on the negative stereotypes and held them…

It's the go to insult because they can't think of anything else. A misdirection tactic to get the subject matter changed. Handle it like any other desperate attempt to attack the person instead of the argument. "Who hurt you?!" "Ahhh, the old, "Nothing intelligent to say, insert personal attack" tactic. Nice usage, I like it! But let's stay on the current subject for the time being."

I’d put $$ down that never happened. Read that whole thing again. Sounds like a total narcissist painting a fairy tale for validation. Exactly what I was thinking as well. Let's break it down: She also cheated and wanted an open relationship You take that garbage to the curb. You don't go back later to sneaking it back into your house. Let her and her issue go. I know the life she wants is massively different to the life I would be comfortable with. That's right. It will never work and you'll only come to hate yourself and then project that hate onto her. But, you'd be the one responsible for inflicting it upon yourself in this instance since your incompatibility …

Well I mean, true masculinity would just not care. I agree with this sentiment and think it's the goal or the end-state of most of us here. Where we diminish our external validation seeking states more in favor of internal retrospection/evaluation. Granted, the fact that the world is cruel and damns you for just existing/being successful/being born male at times, just forces you into a decision point; Do you capitulate and seek more external validation (Am I a good Boy?) or you finally have enou…

I already know the answer but is it possible to find a caring, supportive wholesome woman? Yes, but there are no guarantees she will stay that way. People are constantly changing based upon events/experiences in their lives. There is no guarantee either of you won't evolve out of the relationship and with everything you know of the way the system works, you also know how you can be exploited by that system. Or am I just a dumb mother*****. No, you're just an addict. You're addicted to the feelin…

Sure, I agree. However, my personal goal is to do more work from home in a way that the homestead/surrounding land affords the opportunity to pay for itself. Livestock/Farming/other personal business (Welding/Blacksmithing/Programming). Things like that. Another interpretation is that our luxuries can become our masters if not managed well. The idea that our 'stuff' owns us instead of the other way around. Not saying it's a guarantee, just that it's a trap to avoid.

Here's a quote that I've long enjoyed: Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for – in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it. –Ellen Goodman

Smallish Homesteading: Fowl and gardening (soil and various hydroponics) I've kept chickens for two years now. Hands down the best and most rewarding hobby I've had. I have 31 layers currently and by selling my excess eggs passively at work they easily pay for themselves. I've found Justin Rhodes' videos on youtube to be a great entry-point into them. I really wish I had done this decades ago for the quality of life improvement they've brought. I had never had fresh eggs before I had my own chic…

Anyone else experience this with people you know? I find this is the same with a lot of self-destructive tendencies. You'll see friends and family hamstringing themselves through bad habits or just really bad life choices. I've never found a case where my verbal intervention assisted at all. The only time something I said had an effect was when they'd approach me for advice due to my example. Even then it's probably only 10% of the time that they would actually take that advice. Livestock - care and handling: Currently just chickens at the moment, but that's been quite successful and they're now paying for themselves through the sale of excess eggs to neighbors and at work. I spend time researching future livestock to expand into and throughout the last year I was doing weekend apprenticing at a sheep and goat farm to get hands on experience. Worse comes to worst, I'll just use the food slowly over time. Most of it will last till 2023. I'm a bit of a mild prepper I guess, but that's pretty much how I go about my plans. I'll buy canned goods in bulk of the varieties I like and only have to purchase the perishables weekly. (Milk/bacon). Mr Peterson revels the ugly truth behind his doctrine. The purpose of his teachings is not to promote your happiness, it's to protect society. His real 'Truth' is the success of the species, and a vehicle for that success is some form of collaborative society. Most people, if they don't find themselves somehow aligned with the society they live within, will be crushed by that society. Unless you live a truly nomadic lifestyle far removed from any form of governing body, you'll have to find a way…

To add to your M&M cyanide analogy: The M&Ms in the bowl not laced with cyanide initially may become laced with it later spontaneously. So even if you were to find the magical/mythical NAWALT, there's a large likelihood that she would transform into AWALT later on in the relationship. To put it in other terms; We are constantly slightly changing our character, wants and desires from every event that we go through in our lives. In relationships the hope is that you both will change in compatible …

I've dreamed of visiting Egypt my entire life. This week I finally got the opportunity, and it couldn't have been more of a nightmare. I want to keep this short. As a solo woman, you will be seen as an object. Constant offers of marriage and asking me to "make a selfie" with them. How uncivilized can these people be! I don't recall ever feeling lonely and miserable when I'm alone. However, I have had those feelings while being in a relationship. When you feel totally isolated and weary of going home because you know it'll only lead to more fighting. … but when a man sees all of a womans flaws and still decides to give her his love isn't being a simp. That's just being real. When she crosses this line, it's done. You know she needs love, but she is undeserving of your love now because she will always abuse it for her own gain. And the reason for this 'abuse' is because she's lost respect for the man who has given her love despite her flaws. She questions along the lines of, "What's wrong with him, if he'll accept me?!". Her self-loathing inf…

Also, in my experience, you cannot "observe in advance" to then have stillness of mind when it matters. You are mistaken on this. TLDR: You can practice your emotional control by mentally projecting yourself into different scenarios designed to invoke an emotional reaction. This takes practice like any other martial art. In the military a great deal of preparedness comes from planning. You would write 'Patrol Orders' that would in great detail lay out the response to many scenarios that would be…

How have you successfully gotten past the Red Pill rage? I too found my rage growing and growing. I had kicked the ex to the curb, but a year later I found that I was more angry than I had been at the time when I ended the relationship. I ultimately found that I was extreme mad at myself for allowing what had happened to me and ashamed that I had believed in the pretty dream of it all rather than trusting my instincts when I knew better. Lot of good advice in the comments... Comparisons: You are correct. Don't compare yourself to others to determine where you should be. Compare yourself to past versions of yourself to ensure you're making progress. This is true for anything you are working on. If you'd like to make more progress, analyze your process and see where you can cut the non-producing parts out. This will require you to take notes so that you can evaluate your plan in retrospect. Military or DangZagnut's advice: Both of…

I'd say the person who gives up on their dreams for a paycheck, in general is using it as an excuse and doesn't have the resolve or the drive to actually pursue that dream. So what's the point of living? This is where I think your problem lies. You lack purpose for being other than just existing and that feels empty and unrewarding. No one can give you an answer here that will directly give you purpose we can only encourage you to go in search of it. People reproduce for their own self-centered desires all the time. They don't have children for the children's sake but toward their own goals. They’re not here for you or me, they’re their own thing with their own existence This is where we will disagree, because I believe you are mistaken. “A consistently happy life and one bad day” is an absolutely fucking lunatic way to talk about killing something that’s alive my dude. If only we all could be so lucky. Please understand, I'm not trying to convince you to participate in eating meat or raising and butchering your own animals. So I'll just bring it back to your point, is it really better to have an existence where you're killed at a fraction of your life than not have an existence atall? Yes I do. While none of us are given a choice of whether we are born or not, it is my choice to continue on in the face of adversity that I've encountered and despite what I've lived through. The issue to be raised is not how they're killed, but THAT they're killed, completely needlessly. I think this is biggest point of our differing perspectives. If they weren't killed, then they wouldn't have been born. These animals are only alive and raised for this purpose for the most part. Not discounting people that keep pet chickens, rabbits, and sheep and goats for land management purposes (grassland and brush maintenance). Why chose to be cruel? For my part, I'm not. It is? Is it not possible to live without animal products? I'll reword my statement: Livestock raising for meat and materials CAN fulfill a need. No matter how you get your nutritional needs, animals and/or organisms die either directly or indirectly. That mass production practices that generate energy, materials & food (plant or animal) end up killing. I think some of this can be minimized to some degree by taking a more active role in how we get our food. However, while we have large populatio…

I've never heard of this PETA story before. Do you have a link? Also I'd say there's a high chance they're taken to a sanctuary. I can't find the incident I was referring, but it doesn't surprise me since it happened either late 80s or early 90s. It really depends on what happened to those 'rescued' 16. In the past, PETA has just turned around and killed the animals themselves because they lacked the ability/resources to provide any quality of life for the animals. (Years ago, rescued a bunch of test facility animals and got caught after they killed them all and threw them in a dumpster at a mall). If they took them to the woods and let them go, then they've most likely have not survived as these farmed animals don't generally have the s…

I disagree. In either case I would ask the OP why they married in the first place and in the future if they thought that they'd have any regrets if they failed to find a suitable SO. The poster describes their SO as being great and helpful, but the lack of income is what is causing the rift. Unfortunately, hypergamy is what's causing the rift, and the hypergamic trigger is the lack of income. For all my married friends and married folks in general, I wish them the best of luck. I want it to work…

I think it's more that they've invested so much into the identity they have with the woman in their lives that when it falls apart or is nuked they've lost what they defined as their life and their place in it. So now, they're no longer a husband or possibly a father if they're separated from their kids. Whereas before they were a provider for their families, now they're just a resource generator for an ex-wife and kids that he no longer has a relationship with. He had spent so long thinking in …

My question is, how do I deal with these friends? Just continue to lead by example. If they are good friends and the relationship continues, you may just find that you're an inspiration to them to better themselves. If they are shitty people, just move on as they will only drag you down in petty jealousies. For the most part keep following your own path as you determine the best course of action. If you haven't discovered yet, be weary of telling people your future plans especially if they fall …

The point is it's easy to fool ourselves that we will land okay and softly after the crash. I think this is the best point of your worthy post. Whether you 'make it' or are working on it, stagnancy can creep in and stop your progression on a 'better' version of yourself. Having even a minor 'struggle' to overcome can help you keep improving and building the core of your being. By some people's definition, I have 'made it'. However, I don't wish the trap of settling into complacency onto to anyon…

There is no community. This is no 'safe space'. This is just a sub-reddit that exists at the whims of those who control reddit as a whole. Do not depend on this sub lasting as it could be next on the chopping block. It will most likely not last as a subreddit, howev…

The best lesson I was taught in the military was the knowledge that I can achieve whatever I put my mind and effort into. It's easy to say, it's a different thing to understand it fully into your core being. After accepting that, no limiting ideas that other people try to put on you can hold you back. You'll believe in yourself enough that no other person's opinion will matter. Couple that belief in yourself with the discipline to find the path forward towards those goals and then do what is nec…

You are still living in the past and thinking about your revenge only wastes the valuable time you have rather than setting yourself as your #1 priority in your life. After I got divorced at 35 I was in a similar depressive funk. I was in my own home but I really didn't know what my purpose in life was and that was what I was struggling with then. It depends upon your goal(s) in life. If military service is the only path towards that goal, then use it to fulfill its purpose. You are absolutely correct though if the goal is something like, "To see the world" or "To earn money for college", there are better/safer ways to achieve this. I can respect that desire. Replace the word 'man' with 'anyone' and I've totally taken that approach to being self-reliant. Within reason of course. Granted, anyone who would or could say "you wouldn't have that ...", while a very short list, wouldn't be interacted with much longer if they did mutter those words. Seeing the assertion of "...and women are living longer than men.", I'm wondering if this statistic will start normalizing to men's average lifespans (or below) now that more women are in the workforce. MGTOW doesn't propagate itself through the gene-pool because it's an idea/philosophy. You can't make the assumption that a person who only is in a relationship because of the utility that the other provides will actually breed with that same person. The judgement of 'weak' put forth by the original poster was in regards to a person falling apart over a simple cold not their marital/relationship status.

If the date in your username is anywhere close to your birth year, you have plenty of time to learn a new trade. Time as in you're still young enough to get a solid start. You're still breathing. Just because you've walked one path, you may not be stuck in it unless there are other circumstances preventing you from extricating yourself. Christina Hoff Sommers in "Who Stole Feminism" (1994) talks about this. Even then was saying it was correlation, not causation issue. That the real determinate to longer life/health was money, that married men were more inclined to work more to provide for the family. There's really nothing to 'infiltrate'. It's just a collection of ideas that a person can adopt on a piecemeal basis or in whole as they see fit. Any new suggestions or ideas will be tested/reviewed for viability and dismissed if they're found lacking. The same goes for the other side of aisle. If someone comes here or goes there to start a dumpster fire it only reinforces the ideas really and emboldens the more volatile readers of the subreddits. No real big deal. If anyone's wearing M/W-GTOW a…

The difference is how society views the actions of one gender vs the other. Any man that did anything similar to the situation that you posted has always been considered a piece of shit individual. No one's letting him off the hook if he says, "I just wasn't able to be myself. I wasn't happy.", he'll be written off as some immature man-child going through a mid-life crisis. However, reverse the genders in today's age and she'll have an army of allies telling her "You go girl, you've gotta be you…

It's why I no longer ride a motorcycle. About 9 years ago I gave it up after some near misses. I'm a pretty defensive driver, but even then some of the idiocy that was going on the roads was insane. Now, they barely notice my SUV much less a motorcycle in their midst.

Also, and important question is what their method was for determining levels of happiness. Without disclosing the questions and their criteria of 'grading' the data can skew incredibly from one way to the next. Similarly to the 'study' that report 1 in 4 women raped on campus, where the study claimed some participants were raped (where those participants themselves didn't think they were raped) by factoring in coercion. I've been noticing it a lot lately myself. I'll be working outside in a back pasture, I'll tire myself out and sit down for a moment. I'll look around and listen to the birds. See my dog laying in the weeds sunning herself. Look up the mountain to my left and think that the dog and I need to walk up there someday soon. Being outside, looking up that mountain (a hill with delusions of grandeur) really calms me lately. Nobody talking, just me, the dog, and the sounds of the woods. And I get to wor…

Does he mean 95lb or just having a height under 5'5"? He could've felt that she was petite and this was his way of telling her that he's really attracted to her. Or maybe he's actually just taken aback by this chick, in that while she doesn't fit his 'type' he's really attracted to her. Or maybe she's correct o…

You probably hate family Gatherings. I actually have a pretty good time with family. Some like to argue, some like discussions. It's a pretty good mix. I cut lose long ago any relatives that were toxic. As far as friends, I work with some friends that I've known since middle-school and later college. When they've had enough of their wives/lives, or the release of a new co-op video game, we'll rent a cabin with a decent internet connection and take 3 to 4 day holiday. From this group of friends, …

I feel this book (No More Mr. Nice Guy) did have some importance, but mostly in understanding one's own motivations and also when combining it's message with other concepts/books. Personally I found one section of this particular book very helpful in how it articulated a Mother's relationship with her son. Almost as a subtle support of "Esther Vilar's: The Manipulated Man", where in that it was stating that a Mother raises a Son to be her future provider. in NMMNG, he approached this topic by ta…

What she didn't realize overall (or admit), that in the end even when he had met her every desire, and left with nothing to complain about... she went in search of a problem to complain about. And the husband realizes that there is NOTHING he can do to prevent being criticized. She doesn't realize that what she craves is the conflict/drama, and he's realized this as well. He might've even forced himself to think for a bit, that his total surrender was worth it in the long run. "Relationships are…

I mostly agree with you except we've taken it to next logical step. She never asked herself, what the purpose of having a relationship was for then if she's so driven and ambitious. Though, her 2nd statement I believe fractured her driven argument when she stated she wanted support and reassurance towards her goal. This is more of an MRA concern than what I would gather to be a MGTOW one. Not being dismissive. Basically, that I'll let them wallow in their victim narrative and I'll go off and do what I want. Attempting to minimize my interaction with the legal system in the process. I'll use gamer lingo as well; Do you enjoy playing the game? No. Then why play the game. Yes, that makes a great deal of sense. It ties into my own personal understanding about my initial response patterns of anger/rage. Where initially 'rage' may be the first and easiest response to a major stress event it rarely is the most appropriate. And like your hatred, my anger fades as I deal with the underlying problem. So I understand what you're getting at. Thanks for sharing.

No, of course. I agree with you. While the 'However' paragraph related closer to an experience I had, in the end 'Apathy' was the route I chose after all ties were cut. My last sentence to her was, "If you keep this behavior up, you'll die alone." I had dealt with her and didn't need to resort to any passive aggressive and money wasting. I had thought the picture was humorous and could imagine a scenario to my own experience where I might feel compelled to do something like that, but it would've…

I agree in the sense that it cost some cash to do that much text and why spend money on someone you don't like. However, if money was no object, and other people (that didn't really know what kind of person she actually was) were constantly berating me in her defense saying things along the lines of "She was such an Angel", I might be tempted to memorialize my dissatisfaction. It's not that it affects her(the dead woman) at all, but it would be a little spit in the eye of her defenders.

No hate for Neil Strauss; The book was just an overview of the early PUA game and a lot of the mentality that surrounded the scene at the time. I found it an entertaining novel but that's it. And sometimes, they accidentally developed an interesting personality or skills along the w…

Born, definitely. Though to me, this feels like an obvious choice. "To Be" has always been in the background noise of my head. "Is 'this' more than I can take?", hell no. "Is this what defeats my spirit to push on?", not bloody likely. Suicide or "Not To Be" always kind of came to me as motivators. That if someone or something was plaguing me enough to even have something like that flash in my mind, then a change was needed, and to take the "Not To Be" route allowed them or that thing to have so…

The problem that I see is with this idea: IF I encounter a woman who has humility and depth. The person you initially meet may be in full-on "Find a provider" mode. For instance regarding teamwork it was stating, "It's my way or the highway"; Yes, but it's more dependent upon the team itself. If I have to carry the team, then yes.
