So much support in this thread, it's fantastic. You have nothing to be embarrassed about. Everyone is there to improve themselves, and everyone has to start somewhere. Don't try to be a hero and load up heavy weight when you're just starting out, that's a recipe for injury. It sounds like you really researched your stuff and you'll go far if you stick to it. Just for reference, I started taking a friend with me to the gym in the fall who was in the same place as you. He's also doing SL 5x5. And …

Man chiming in here. What stood out to me more than anything in your post is the decline in morning wood. This is a potential sign of a decrease in testosterone, which would tie in to basically every other concern you have. There's a lot of questionable/brosciency methods to boost testosterone, but I'd recommend more red meat, a heavy weightlifting routine, and more sleep. Less masturbation and no porn will also help, abstaining is proven to boost testosterone (7 days off is said to be peak leve…

How? This post is way better than the FR's we've been seeing here lately that are all written like some shitty fan fiction where the author takes the place of the guy who bullied him in high school. OP's post is more about being confident and able to have a conversation, which makes a world of difference. It doesn't take much to stand out, and now he seems like the only guy in the class with a spine. Good post OP.

Consider something accounting or economics based if it isn't one of your electives already.

He goes on to explain that for every exercise, 5x5 means build up to one large set. So you're doing 1 heavy working set, with 4 warm up sets gradually getting heavier. The notation he uses is incorrect/confusing, that's all

If she didn't even respond to you when you were in the hospital, you need to straight up get out of this relationship. That's not shitty relationship behavior, it's just plain shitty behavior.

5 weeks is probably too long. I'd say go get a dozen new numbers to try out instead

I'm saying to condition as well, but through some punishment (freeze out) instead of just reward (compliments). Just giving reward for good behavior and not acknowledging bad behavior isn't conditioning, she won't feel a need to change other than for special occasions when she gets dolled up. At the end of the day OP has let his frame slip (he admits this) and she's shifting him into her frame by behaving slobby with no reaction on his part. He should cut contact for a few days and see her react…

No. Punish swiftly, reward slowly. Like others have been saying, OP should begin to cut contact and let her wonder why he's ignoring her. After a few days just answer with the truth, "been busy", because you're a busy man and your time is worth more that someone who stops putting in effort to please you.

Don't give yourself death grip syndrome, and don't let porn skew your expectations of real sex.

6'0", 220 (losing weight) I look fantastic compared to the 300+ I started at. Goal is now appearance instead of scale based, but I'm thinking around 190 is where I'd want to be.

If you ask a girl out and she says she's busy, then doesn't offer a time when she's free instead, she's just not interested. Your idea to text asking if the roommate would date you is an attempt at making her jealous, and honestly she'd probably see right through it. Just move on from them both. Completely ignore, no response. You're already fighting to get their attention when it should be them fighting for yours.

I would have started at around your age if I had my time back. But be smart about it, look up how to do compound movements with proper form. Really dedicate yourself to this, go to /r/fitness or /fit/ and read the sidebar or stickies to get started. Read starting strength, it's where most people start. I see people your age at my gym sometimes, but they all do idiotic exercises with poor form. Basically throwing free weights to use momentum instead of muscle to lift. That's a recipe for injuries…

If you ask her out before her getting in shape, there's no reason for her to get in shape. You eliminate dread game from your own use because you've initially said that she's good enough the way she is for you to date.

50 Shades is Twilight fan fiction. Twilight is Anne Rice fan fiction. Anne Rice is Bram Stoker fan fiction. We need to go deeper.

Ok - for starters, "Don't shit where you eat" doesn't necessarily apply to people in food service. This is so hilarious considering it's a place where you ACTUALLY eat. But completely true. One of my best friends is a chef and always has stories about how ridiculous restaurant staff are when they party. Lots of hookup stories too. Just have fun with it, OP.

Sidebar. LMR is a woman's last attempt to prove to herself she isn't a slut by making feeble excuses to refuse sex when in your mind you've probably escalated to the point where it was a sure thing. i.e. you've been making out and groping each other and she slams on the brakes and says she isn't having sex tonight. It's a pretty common shit test, people pass it in the usual ways like agree and amplify ("of course not! I'm saving myself for marriage" then continue escalating). I've also heard fre…

To me this sounds like you become interested in any girl who stumbles into your life. Your descriptions of the three are vague and it doesn't sound like you know anything about any of them. Date all of them and develop an actual opinion of which girl(s) are worth your time. Girl 3 asked you to a party. Go to it and have fun, don't focus on her just have a good time at the party and she'll react accordingly. Then you have some preselection in the minds of the other two as well.

I would amplify this to the point of absurdity and say 8'8" or something. Amplifying while saying 6'5" could just be seen as being misleading/lying if you actually meet, there's plenty of guys around that height.

Two more awesome channels to add to my healthy recipe list, thanks man. I recommend fitmencook and Michael Kory Fitness as well. There's tons of delicious, clean recipes that are the foundation of my diet that come from guys like this. Loving fitmencook's spicy turkey chili for my lunch through the whole week

For the past month ish I've been further sorting out my diet and workout routine, eating clean every meal except for supper and beers with the guys one night and Sunday dinner with the parents. Only drank alcohol one day since Halloween, for a friend's birthday. I was doing great with meditation and reading, but they've fallen off over the past two weeks. Typing this up made me realize it, so thanks, gonna get back on that

I had my first serious LTR start at the very end of high school and carry through a fair chunk of university. We were each other's first, so partner count wasn't something we even considered. I'll be brutally honest, we both had very skewed views of sex. I probably watched too much porn and had bizarre expectations, while she had a very conservative upbringing and probably would have saved sex for marriage if it weren't for the fact she was in an all female class and started hearing stories from…

This has been the hardest part of TRP for me to accept. I want this girl to be real. I want someone I can confide in like you're suggesting. But women are not those people. In my experience, not even platonic female friends will give a fuck about your problems, and will make themselves scarce if you try and confide. Bring your insecurities and confidence issues to strong, stoic men who can give you advice to eliminate these issues. Look for more than someone to confide in, look for someone who c…

Day late but I'm still on a bit of a high from this so whatever. Went out to a club on the weekend with some friends who were home, and got a lot of positive female attention. Including from one of the friends, who has a boyfriend who didn't make the trip home this time. It's been ages since I went out and I've gotten in way better shape (basically been monk mode for a few months), so I was not prepared. Dance floor escalation is ridiculous and I didn't move fast enough. Doesn't matter, I know f…

Excellent post, thank you. I know you say not to rely on external audio, but someone just starting out may benefit from looking into Headspace. Guided meditation app, first 10 day program is free. Each session covers a lot of the same topics as you (breath watching, physical awareness, observing your thoughts "projecting", etc). I just did the first 10 day program and was able to continue on my own applying the concepts.

As it's already been said, deadlift is pretty taxing on your CNS so high volume isn't a great idea. How heavy is your deadlift? If you're able to do 5 sets of 6 reps, you could probably be doing much heavier. My program now (a different SL program) has me doing deadlifts 1 day a week. 4 sets total, 3 are warmup starting low and ramping up with the last set considered my "working" set at the heaviest.

Something something testosterone. But seriously, people who do nofap act like it's literally the solution to every problem they've ever had. I call placebo effect.

It sounds like you KNOW that A is going to try and sabotage your date. I'd be inclined to bail on this entirely if it isn't just the two of you. Just let her know it's not happening if there's a third wheel.

My story for you. About 3 years ago I got out of an LTR that was just not right for me. We were together for more than 3 years, high school sweethearts, each others firsts, etc. etc. But I started to see how much happier other couples were, and met girls in university that I felt more compatible with, and knew I couldn't stay with her. It was tough but I ended it. This girl had a very religious upbringing, she would have stayed with me forever and been unhappy because she believed in soulmates. …

I definitely have some approach anxiety, and I know that the best way to work on that is to just keep going out of your comfort zone and doing it. Trying to work on that, that's something I would say I've improved on. I guess that my issue lies more in conveying interest. My anxiety about my experience keeps me from directing the interaction to becoming more sexually themed. I choke here and any interest I've built fizzles out. Edit: situation is usually house parties hosted by friends of friend…

Yeah that does look contradictory. I guess to clarify I meant that the opportunity has been there but anxiety has prevented me from acting. It's crippling to the point that escorts seem like one of my only options to get over it but I hate the idea of that. What you're saying holds true though. Thanks for the input
