If marriage wasn’t a contract between 2 company, at the end if the less fortunate company decide to end it, the poor one get 50% of all the rich company funds, assets and property, while the other one get nothing. Why sign a contract where the opposite part gain all the benefices by fucking you up? It’s just a losing game, you can perfectly have all the benefices of marriage without actually marrying.
