I mean, it's a bit different right? Playing games with your friends requires pretty limited communication skills. And when you lose a bunch and get mad you can just sign off and play again some other time. If relationships were that easy then every one of them would be great.

If you're raising your kid and for some reason a judge decides that you're not fit to do it anymore, then I do think you should help your ex pay for the kid and I even think it's okay to legislate that.

I think that there should be government provided child care services imo. Population growth is incredibly important for a countries economy, so encouraging people to have kids by our taxes paying for them seems like a good investment.

I think it would be more equal if both parents had a full choice on if they wanted a kid or not. If you want a kid and then you dip you should pay child support, but if you knockup your teenage girlfriend because you're stupid you shouldn't be forced to pay for a child for the next 18 years. Just my opinion.
