Exactly how were their names cleared? Assuming the issue progressed to a certain point, if a background check is ever made, they will still be flagged as having been persons of interest in a rape allegation. There's no way to win against this. When people started to back out of diamonds because of the wars and genocide that they caused, the diamond cartel came out with 'conflict free diamonds' and began marketing those even more agressively. Even though one may know the truth, avoid it and think one can steer clear, but there's nothing you can do when women are easily distracted by shiny things.

No. Unlike students, staff members/employees are protected by labor laws which for the most part require employers to either pay or show cause. Any employee ceased by unsubstantiated allegations would have grounds to pursue legal action.
