Nerds don’t get much attention. They might have a successful career but are not good socially. Then they fall for the one option they end up with. I know a successful but awkward guy that fell for a stripper at a club he went to. We all told him it was a bad idea. They got married, pumped out two kids quick and then she divorced him and took half his stuff and the kids.

Have you tried interacting and getting to know women in person then asking them out? Or are you reading statistics online and only doing dating app swiping? Go out to any crowded place. Plenty of guys who aren't tall with girlfriends or wives.

Dating is difficult. But I think going overseas, leaving behind friends and family, etc. would be a major hassle. I'm older though and like where I live despite dating being a shitshow around here. While you are young if you want to travel a bit and have the funds to do it it might not be a bad idea to go overseas for a short period to see if you like it. I think you have to ask yourself what you have done to improve your dating life first. Are you in decent shape? An interesting person? Have yo…

This is how people met prior to apps and how a lot of people still meet today. It's why you look around and see most couples are average people. Endless self improvement and skydiving through rings of fire aren't needed to impress people to get a date in the real world. It does involve going outside and not hiding behind a screen, which a lot of people on Reddit won't ever do. Bonus points - when you meet someone in real life you've already vibed so your first date will flow better. Beats meetin…

I am late 30s. I typically date late 20s / early 30s. But I will date up to my own age. Hard to find good people after 35 though.

Internet advice (esp on Reddit) does not mirror real life. I think the #1 things posters here could do is log off and live life more.

Go to a mall, sporting event, etc...anywhere there are a lot of people. Observe what is going on around you. There will be plenty of couples. Normally they are on the same level. Plenty of shorter guys with girls. Plenty of bald guys with girls. Etc etc. Most of these guys probably are not rich. I'm not a chad and I have not had any issues finding dates with attractive women. I work out regularly, have a decent job, have a good sense of humor, am honest and caring. What some may view as "putting…

Yep. Too many people on Reddit are afraid of talking to people in real life. Instead they swipe for years with no results and complain.

You are framing things in ways different then what I meant. Keep in mind I am responding to someone else (the OP) who said everything is fine and great for single women as they get older. The data we has says women are on anti depressants in greater amounts then men. After 40 that rate grows even bigger. Maybe there is a good reason men don't seek them out at the same rate. But the data still shows a large amount of women on them. That doesn't line up with what the OP said. Women can have issues…

"The percentage of antidepressant use increased with age, from 7.9% among adults aged 18–39 to 14.4% for those aged 40–59 to 19.0% for those aged 60 and over. A similar increase in the use of antidepressant medications by age was observed for men and women. Among men, use was lowest among those aged 18–39 (5.5%) and highest among those aged 60 and over (12.8%). Among women, use rose from 10.3% among those aged 18–39 to 24.3% among those aged 60 and over." You can scroll down here to the chart fo…

Ah yes, offering a counter arguement that says using men for sperm to raise kids as a single mother isn't the greatest idea means I "hate women". Good talk.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/22 03:21 PM

After 40 over twice the amount of women are on anti depressants compared to men. Having easy access to sex but nothing long term, getting a sperm donor and being a single mother and watching friend groups drift away as other people in the group start raising families probably isn't the happiest way to live life. I think everyone has a "wall". Lifestyle, goals and fitness choices will determine when someone hits it. It might not be at exactly 30. That's probably around the time that is most commo…

I talk to women all the time and don’t go to bars often and never go clubbing. Most guys on Reddit who are afraid to talk to women use this excuse that it is not “socially permissible”.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/22 09:09 PM

There's your problem. If you are afraid to talk to women then you can't meet women.

Bad social skills? Do you talk to and ask out women often?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/22 06:25 PM

Height is one thing a lot of women like. It's not the only thing. Being tall isn't a freecard to be able to attract a woman. You still need to be an interesting person who knows how to talk to women. The rest of your look (face, style, haircut, hygiene) also matter too. Not sure why this is hard to understand for a lot of people.

This is some weird black pill talk that says the only thing that matters is genetics. Then there’s the “Well most girls are fat so you will have to pick one of us”. Sounds like a cope fat women are trying to push rather then getting into shape. Average men are not stuck only dating overweight women, sorry. Go to any large public place sometime and you can observe plenty of couples are around the same fitness level. Overweight people tend to pair with other overweight people.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/22 03:58 AM

It is not uncommon to want to date someone around the same fitness or self improvement level as yourself. But society keeps trying to tell us we have to accept fat chicks and want to date them regardless of how much work we've put into ourselves. No.

Most guys aren't super strict about this. I would take someone with little or no makeup over someone who cakes on tons. Beyond that I would just expect someone to dress nicely, smell good and take basic care of themselves. I'd expect that from any functioning adult though.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/22 08:11 PM

Average women often don't see average men either. They are invisible. Take the dating app 80/20 rule that is often quoted. I don't think the example you mentioned in unique to either side. There are probably a lot of men willing to date the average girl in your story even if your friend wasn't interested. Meanwhile the average guy is told to make a lot more money and hit the gym for years.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/22 07:21 PM
1

Hitting the gym, making lots of money and learning skills can take a long time and a lot of commitment. It took me awhile to hit fix figures. Building a gym body also took a lot of work and sticking to a routine every day of every week for years. Meanwhile what do I look for? Someone who is nice and kind, has a decent personality and is attractive to me. Most of those things come with the person without tons of work. They just have to shower daily and not eat too much McDonalds. Not really compa…

Depends. Are they more then their career? I find a lot of career women spend most of their time rambling about their boring office jobs. I work hard in IT and make six figures. I rarely talk about it because who cares. There are much more interesting things about me then my office job even though I like my job. If they have a balanced life with varied interests then I am ok with dating a woman as described in the OP.

I have options so I don’t need to date single mothers. If single mothers were my only option I would work on bettering myself to get what I want. The thread is centered around RP though, which is largely about self improvement. If I was a lazy man who didn’t want to do that then I’d stay single and enjoy my life. Dealing with someone else’s kids would outweigh the benefits of the relationship. I think that answers your question from all angles.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/22 04:01 PM

The family has already been created. It’s not my interest to play dad in two other people’s family. If you are worried about the decline of society why not look into the two people that had a kid and broke up the family unit rather then someone who isn’t interested in picking up the pieces.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/22 03:50 PM

My life is great as it is right now. If I were to get into a relationship with a woman with a kid my life would be worse then it is right now. I don't want to deal with a kid that is not mine. It doesn't matter what dating ideology one follows for that to be true.

As a guy dating in my 30s has been easier. I have taken care of myself, make a lot more money, have more confidence, style, etc etc. I've improved and grown a lot myself. Dating hasn't really gotten easier because women have hit a "wall". I find most women in their 30s are even more picky. Most of the ones still single at that age don't seem super concerned with having kids and are making their own money. When I started on dating sites a long time ago (prior to apps!) 5'10 was the popular minimum. Although it wasn't as important to women as it is today. The requirement has slowly gone up even over the last 10 years or so.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/22 01:07 AM

Lots of people appear happy on the outside and don’t show they are unhappy and missing something. Don’t let appearances deceive you. How many of these women would choose casual sex when they want as opposed to meeting the right person, starting a family, etc. Arent something like 20% of adult women on anti depressants too? I do think there are more women then in the past that are happy to be alone. Women are making more bank then ever before. But I don’t think the majority are ok with it.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/22 02:25 PM

Once you up your game and put in the work you will see there’s a lot out of shape, career obsessed, socially inept, screen addicted women out there. Women as a whole aren’t any better then men as a whole.

"Date whoever you want" and "there's a problem with you" for choosing to date who you want if it doesn't fit in with your criteria. Everyone has their own requirements. A lot of us want to date people who have been more relationship oriented then casual sex oriented. Who do you think would make a better long term girlfriend and potential wife? Someone who hasn't been in a relationship but slept with 100 people over the last few years or someone who was in one long term relationship during that s…

Ah yes, the whole "if you don't want to date a woman who has slept with 100 guys it can only be misogyny" cop out. The usual low intelligence reply that tries to shut down conversation by name calling. There's a big difference between someone who has slept with one guy many times in a commited relationship and someone who sleeps with a different partner every other weekend. I don’t think your post makes much sense. If I am dating someone and she says she’s slept with 80 people I will end things. Obviously if we are dating and she tells me this she is interested, despite what your original post says. Am I “degrading” her by breaking things off for that reason? I don’t think so. Not sure if you would agree though.

What were you expecting on a discussion forum? Everyone to nod along? Are you just bitter someone shot you down for having 80 partners?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/22 07:53 PM

Not true. I don’t have trouble getting laid if I want to. I also don’t want to be with someone who has a high body count. I’ve always been more of a relationship person, although I’ve had a few short term hookups too. If someone has a really high body count I question their ability to pair bond and work towards something long term.

The guy is incredibly arrogant for an ugly old guy who spent his time chasing single mothers and getting burned. I live in a suburb outside a big city filled with a lot of professionals. A lot of the women I go on dates with make really decent money. I don’t think I’ve come across one that is dead set on having kids. It’s either they are open to it but don’t really care or don’t want them.

Gotta be funny, confident and know how to talk to women too. A lot of women make their own cash today so they are looking for someone that is fun to be around. That's usually what holds most guys back.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/22 08:59 PM

You picked up one thing I said, ignored the rest and then rudely attacked me. The point there is that it is easier for women to have sex or casually date then men if that's what they want. They also have endless dating options where most men do not. If looking for something long term at least you can take some shots as often as you want. There are options for whatever you are looking for. Men don't typically have that in abundance. Hence men don't take being single as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/09/22 07:37 PM

Women get flooded with attention on social media. They can get a date or have sex tonight easily by hopping on a dating app. It's easier for women to get social needs met compared to men.

lol…good question It’s kind of a free for all where everyone has their own rules. Generally things are open until “the talk” like you mentioned. But everyone has different expectations. Some are ok with the person they are dating sleeping around. Others draw a line there. Some people won’t expect who they are dating to be seeing other people after a certain amount of dates since that can probably be seen as a lack of interest. Women here often complain that men don’t plan nice dates anymore. But…

I can only speak for myself, but I apply the same rule to myself as I would any woman. If I am looking for a relationship I am not going on a bunch of dates with someone and sleeping with other people on the side. I think it is important to determine what your goals are and seek people with similiar goals. If you want a relationship then date with more serious intent. If you just want something casual date as many people as you want at a time that match that same goal. If I am seeing someone for…

If I am seeing someone, we're going on a lot of dates, getting along and it seems like things are moving towards something long term I would not agree with it. Maybe I am old fashioned, but it would feel odd taking a girl out on a date and then she goes over to some other dudes house to have sex after. She's not in the wrong doing so since we would not be in a relationship at that point, but I am also not in the wrong not wanting to continue to see her. Ultimately I feel like what she is doing w…

My friends and family are here. I’ve built a career here and do work in the community. I like dating and getting to know new people. It more often doesn’t work out in the modern age, but I’d rather not uproot my life and everything I’ve built to chase women in some other country. To become the best person you can be and then do what you want….don’t date, casually date, date for a relationship, etc. To me it is about being happy with yourself and keeping busy, then going after your dating goals after that. Dating and women are not the sole focus. Goals will vary from person to person.

Agree with it to some extent. I’m in my late 30s. I get more attention in my 30s then my 20s. I workout a lot and haven’t lost my hair. My style, finances, confidence and life experience are all better then in my 20s. Putting in the work + genetics can make a man more of a catch in his 30s. Women do peak in their 20s. If they also kept in shape (and don’t have kids) they can still get plenty of attention in their 30s. It won’t be as much as before, but still more then they can sift through if us…

All of the things you mentioned are not the same as star signs. Football is entertainment. Taylor Swift is entertainment. I've seen women use star signs to make life descisions. That's why most men avoid star sign women. I'd rather be with someone using logic, facts, reason and some feeling to decide things. Not some made up garbage.

I've always looked at Reddit as entertainment rather then getting useful information. You don't know who you are talking to. It could be some 12 year old kid or someone that never leaves their house. There are billions of websites and videos about dating advice. But look at all your friends and people you know. Most of them probably did not consume any content to meet their partner. It just kind of happened naturally.

There is a lot of good advice around self improvement, mental health and chasing your goals instead of constantly worrying about women in the manosphere. I think this is all great advice. There are good people with decent views about women pushing out content, and then some with more extreme views. Mix in a bunch of grifters too. The manosphere has a lot of different viewpoints under a big umbrella. It is just a matter of sifting out the bad and taking in the good.

Stop reading too many statistics on the internet and look around yourself in real life. In my late 30s I have noticed this with most women. I think a lof of them realized they missed the boat on having kids if they haven't had them by that point. Since they are not on a timeline and they've probably been through some bad relationships they become ultra picky. It's why I prefer to date late 20s/early 30s instead of my own age (although I don't write off women my own age). The slightly younger women are more fun and reasonable. A lof of women my own age are bitter and unreasonable.

80% of divorces are initiated by women. It would be interesting to see current year, honest stats about cheating. It's much easier for women to have other people lined up due to social media, dating apps and how sex is much easier for women to find in general. I do wonder what the real numbers would be.

Most people are chill people just living their lives and trying to do good for their friends and family. I live surrounded by all kinds of different people with different beliefs. We all get along because even if we are different we are all good and friendly people. If you are only reading stuff on the internet all day then the world seems like a horrible place. I’d recommend getting to know people in your local community and maybe even find some volunteer work you can do to help out. It really …

I just use texting for setting up the first date. I tell them I'd rather talk and get to know them in person. After the first date is done I will usually text them once between the first date ending and the second date. Just something light and flirty so the week isn't completely silent. If we are eventually in a relationship then I will text more and keep more frequent contact. I don't like to get roped into daily long text conversations with someone I am not in a relationship with. I find that…

I am in this same situation. My date is next Wednesday. My plan is to text on Sunday asking how her NYE went since we talked about what we are each doing already. Then I’ll text Wednesday to just say I’m looking forward to meeting her. We haven’t met yet so I’m not getting roped into long text conversations prior to meeting.

Just tell her you had a good time and if she changes her mind to let you know. Then move on with life. If she does reach out to you one day (doubtful this happens) you can reevaluate things and see if you want to see her again.

The internet would have you believe you need to be all kinds of things and within the top percentage of men to accomplish anything. And there are some women out there looking for that. But a lot of them just want a decent & honest person. Go to the mall or any crowded place. You will see all kinds of different couples out there. Not all those guys with women are within the top couple percentage of men. You should always be yourself and always also be working on yourself throughout life. Keep in …

You have to realize that if you get 10 matches and they respond most of them still won't translate into a date. Women have tons of matches and get distracted easily since there are so many options. I always exchange around 5 messages with someone. I put thought into them and keep them funny also. If you can make someone laugh they will remember you more then all the other boring messages they get. After around 5 messages I mention that it looks like we are getting along great and ask to meet in …

Reddit often doesn’t match reality. As long as you are friendly and know when to back off if they don’t want to be bothered most people won’t mind.

Green can either mean she doesn’t use an iPhone, doesn’t have service or blocked you. If it was blue before but now shows as green + there is no delivered message you could be blocked. I’d give it some time and see if she replies.
