Of all seriousness, you need to find and participate in a church. Find a small group with people your age and get involved. It just sounds like you are directionless. Don't worry about "lifting" or counting your carbs or any of this bro garbage. What you need to do is increase your prayer life and start fasting. What you need to do is find a local church family and just get to work and live life.

Man, you are 23 and complaining?! Son, you need to join a local church and participate in a small group. Get some believers in your life!

The good thing is that you are 23 and taking a good hard look at your life. A lot of people will recommend hucksters like Jordon Peterson and will peddle rubbish, but what you really need is the truth. You need to get right with God. But who is God? What is His character life? Is there any hope? That is why you need to read up on God's son, Jesus Christ. To read about Christ is to read about God. Do deep dives on the gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. And don't lie to yourself if you claim …

Well I would pray about it for sure. But I am curious, in your journey in fasting, do you feel closer to the LORD? Do you feel like you can control more of your bodily urges and not over eat? Even the Lord Jesus submitted to his Earthly body (Mark 11:12), (John 4:7), but always remember'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" (Matthew 4:4).

From what I read, it is heavily implied that it is mandatory but I'll need another brother in Christ to vouch for that since I havn't read enough on the subject. I do know that fasting is one of the biggest tools to use for your spiritual life and I wish more preachers would preach on the subject. 1 day a week is great! Have you considered the 1 meal a day plan?

I am fustrated too by all the local churches closing (I live close to a city). But then again, I can understand why many churches have closed. I mean no one knows what is really going on if this is real or some kind of psyop but what if a child or elder gets sick and dies? No Elder or Pastor would wants that on their conscience. Pastors also have to deal with lawyers and potential lawsuits. Its a messy situation but give your Elders and Leaders some grace. This all will pass.

The better question is how do you feel? How fast did you lose the 30 ibs and are you still doing any type of fasting program?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
