It's amazing how much to can learn about someone in 1/2 hour. Interviewing candidates sure doesn't sound romantic but most people fail to realize or ignore that fact that marriage is a legally binding contract. They discover this in divorce court.

Too many people are misled that marriage is not a legally binding contract. Both parties to the contract should have legal protection. I know it doesn't sound particularly romantic but it is no longer 1950.

A friend used Microsoft Project and had a project plan that used 1,500 people as input. It’s the most important decision in your life and most people spend 10 times more effort researching a car purchase. Our toxic culture requires due diligence.

Out of the box idea: Hire a professional match maker and an attorney. Too much of dating is people lying to each other to get sex.

Crying is can be expression of anger or manipulation or both. In this case sadness is unlikely. Frustration maybe.

If you’re not talking to him about it then you’re in your own personal echo chamber. I assume he loves you and would want to collaborate with you to come up with a creative approach to the question. Having kids is a sacrifice and both parents will suffer. You have to decide as a couple if you’re willing to make that sacrifice. We made it for 2 kids and we had tremendous support from family and it was still really hard. The kids are now in their 40’s and turned out well. But I’m not going to lie.…

Always been like this. However, in the past, stronger families, communities and churches kept couples together. It wasn’t love keeping them together; it was social pressure. The internet changed everything (commerce, politics, relationships etc.). The societal social contract and laws for relationships hasn’t caught up yet. What was once called long term commitment is now transactional. We’re moving to a new world where people connect for few year increments. This has implications for children. …

If women laugh at you they find you interesting. If they find you interesting there is a level of attraction going on. Ignore them politely and they’ll become even more interested. Counterintuitive to men. Relax and ignore them. You’re enabling the drama by caring what they think of you.

Chill sir. I’m 70 and have been through it all. Take a deep breath. Relax. It will be fine. If your words are correct she is nuts and you’re better off without her. If you love her as you say you do that pain of loss will never go away. I’m really sorry about that. The wheels of justice work painfully slowly. You need to focus on self care. Accept the fact that men get screwed. This will change in 30 years. You won’t charge it. This sucks too. Know that you are not alone. Many of us men love you…
