He can’t. He’ll expect the people around him to do the work for him. But reject any conclusion that means change.

Inflexible, impulsive, hypocritical, insecure, not introspective, therapy averse, individualistic, coward.

It absolutely was deliberate. They stood me up so I would chase after them instead of only them chasing after me. I think for insecure men, the vulnerability in pursuing women who they see as out of their league causes them to try and build an anxious attachment with us. A dynamic where we would ultimately be chasing after them instead of them continuing to be vulnerable by chasing after us. Unfortunately for them, they’re idiots and I’m a literal behaviorist who has been in therapy long enough …

Yep. Was acquaintances with a man who everyone I knew liked. He asked me out randomly and I agreed. Physically, he wasn’t what I usually dated but he seemed like he had a nice personality, so I decided to give him a chance. He stood me up. Tried giving some weird excuse why but I blocked him in the middle of his explanation. Every time I’ve seen him since he’s asked me out for dinner. I ignore him. Another man in the same social circle was 2 hours late and expected me to still be around. I know …

I dated a very insecure man. He couldn’t convince me I’m unattractive, so he tried to convince me I wasn’t capable of making good choices without him.

My ex used to tell me I had “horrible taste” for finding Idris Elba attractive, and that I should be glad I was able to find a man as attractive as him to be with. He’d remind me often of my horrible taste and of how wonderfully attractive he is. I always thought it was such a strange and insecure reaction to something so minor. In reality it was psychological abuse.

Why would you want to trust someone who doesn’t respect you? That doesn’t even sound possible.

Insecure men prefer insecure women so they have someone to feel superior to.

He called me lame but still wanted to go on a date lol. I told him if he didn’t neg, he would’ve had a chance and that he should try a direct communication style with the next woman. Then I blocked him.

Agreed. We understand that getting better means putting in work, while men look for someone to do the work for them. There was a time when I was dealing with PTSD, depression, and anxiety all while studying for a grad school comprehensive exam. I was not doing well and confided in my brother about the trauma I went through and asked for support. Somehow, the conversation turned into him sobbing about not making the basketball team in high school. He’s 30. I went no contact. Women are taught to b…

“What does that have to do with me?”, “I don’t care.”, and “You should go to therapy.” have become my go-to responses. We have our own emotional selves to care for that take extreme priority over men we don’t even like.

High maintenance women put a lot of work into maintaining themselves. High maintenance men expect women to put a lot of work into maintaining them.

This logic can be applied to other behaviors as well. Insecure men don’t want women to have any ego. They don’t want us to have pride. Men want women to view their worth as dependent on them, or else women won’t need or want men in their lives. My first and last committed partner projected self-assuredness well, but in reality was one of the most insecure men I have ever met. And I come from a patriarchal family. He was very threatened by the fact that I was more intelligent than him and would t…

It’s simple. People do the things that are important to them. If he doesn’t do something for you—despite you saying how important it is that it be done—then your wants aren’t important to him. If he says he didn’t remember, then your wants aren’t important enough to remember, he’s a liar, or he has a brain tumor. No amount of cOmUnIcAtIoN will make you more important to a man. You either are or aren’t. I am no longer interested in trying to talk people into being more considerate of me. It never…

If his family is affected by his firing, it’s his fault. He had no business sexually harassing you. You had every right to protect yourself. You did nothing wrong.

That question is why I became a behavioral neuroscientist. You have the right answer.

To make the conclusion that people should abandon BLM as a movement against police brutality shows you are clearly against BLM. BLM is more than one Twitter/Facebook page. It is a collective movement of many different activists, in many different parts of the country, all working toward dismantling white supremacy and undoing its evils. You would have needed to look at a lot of different people’s social media pages to understand the collective stance on any issue not exactly specific to the blac…

I have never understand why people think BLM ONLY cares about brutality against black people. We are against all brutality and systems that uphold white supremacy. BLM activists loudly spoke out against the anti-Asian attacks related to COVID. Why? Because we understand that there is no anti-Asian sentiment without white supremacy unduly making Asians a “model minority” and a target of interracial anger. A lot of the people raiding and rioting at the beginning of the protests were widely known t…

I always say, men love smart and pretty until smart and pretty makes them feel dumb.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
