Can confirm guys. Wearing a watch was what got me second dates and definitely not due to having good conversations, actually asking them about their lives (real complaint from woman about first dates with other guys), and being confident and excited about my life and where it is headed.

I wouldn’t hold this as a finite rule but I feel like I have the most success when this happens. If the girl I’m seeing comes from greater or lesser wealth or career success there can sometimes feel like a disconnect, especially in life experiences and even hobbies or interests. There is nothing more attractive than someone who knows pain but also knows determination and self-motivation. Can you please expand on this? I'm very intrigued with this statement, especially the "knows pain" part. As someone who had a shit father that barely taught me anything, I struggled from middle school through college but thankfully figured things out afterwards.

The second part of your comment is spot on. I remember people giving me advice like OP's throughout life for different things which, although correct, was more treating of a symptom of the real problem. It's kind of like the "fake it until you make it" phrase people love to use. Yes, faking confidence helps in the workplaces and others places of life to some degree, but you have to have some competency in your job or whatever it is to at least fake it. So yeah, these guys do need a fun, independ…

This right here is the best and most positive way to react to the situation. Best of luck with your future approaches.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
