My place, I can control the environment. However, if she feels more comfortable at her place then I'm totally cool with that.

Hmm... It doesn't seem very active, either.

For some reason I pictured her as an old southern woman.

Well, thanks for trying them all out, now I don't have to :)

I understand using the "I'm trying to get over my shyness" or "I'm trying to get better at talking to girls", it's a nice comment that puts less pressure on you and makes the approach less serious. So, it's great for the first steps, but next try to cut out the intro and go straight to the compliment. It will seem a lot scarier, but if you are truly trying to get over your approach anxiety, it's a step you need to take. But nice going! A 30 minute conversation with two girls is certainly nothing…

Do you just say that and... walk away?

I would see a therapist, to be honest.

I didn't find most of this advice to be very helpful.

Don't bother. Attract when you see her next.

This is something I also need help with. I consider myself a fairly alright dancer, and I'll often be dancing next/with some chick, making eye contact, smiling, etc, but how do I escalate? I've tried the "hip-bump" once, but that's a brief connection. I just feel strange putting my hands on our hips without any kind of escalation. Tips?

I know that if I agree to be alone with the guy, he's going to escalate fast, way too fast for me to properly process. What does that even mean?

Interesting point. I believe the OP downplayed the states of the other people, but it sounds like they were not totally wasted.

I'm sure you have received this feedback, but your bracelet opener was the smoothest. If you had followed through with that by asking her what she was studying, etc, I believe it would make her feel more comfortable. You made a few attempts at contact (bracelet, coffee, walking around, paper). Following through with the first attempt would have been the best chance of success. But great job leaving your comfort zone :)

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
