Monk mode and going off grid are important experiences to have however. I don't subscribe to them as a lifestyle, but how will you know if you can survive on your own, or hunt, or farm if you've never attempted it.

I agree, just based on the Rome model alone (Not to mention every other republic and democracy since). We have passed our peak where we are trying to support our decadence and moral decay by utilizing resources we no longer have. This is causing a gross military and economic overextension that will result in a economic and societal demise, or military defeat. Nobody studies history anymore, so we're doomed to repeat it.

You've already mistakenly assumed she is your girlfriend/lady friend. She's not yours, it's just your turn; and the same applies for any male dominated environment where ladies are introduced.

As an Eagle Scout (with all Palms) and a Brotherhood Member of the OA, I cannot agree with this enough. Most of my closest friends in adult life, are also Eagles. We did not meet through Scouting. We met through college, fraternity, work, and the military; but Scouting instilled something in us that drew us together. In each of them I recognized a leader, and someone I could call a brother. When I found out they are also Eagle Scouts it instantly created a fraternal bond that helped cement our f…

I had the exact same thing happen about four months ago. I stuck by the girl through a rough time in her life, and as soon as she got better she started saying I never cared about her/ only did things for her when she was sad. She was just justifying to herself what she was doing. She said we needed to break up, and I said "alright, if thats how you feel." The next day she called me constantly, and the day after. I was an idiot and finally answered instead of blocking her. Fast forward two month…

My goals were to finish my work project 3 months ahead of schedule, refocus on my martial arts training (I had been slacking off due to distractions), and I wanted to finish restoring my '65 Chevelle (it had been 90% completed for the last 4 years). I was able to accomplish everything I wanted. My original plan was to monk mode for closer to a year; but I finished my work, caught up my martial arts and almost finished the Chevelle at the 6 month mark. I noticed my focus, productivity, and dedica…

I went through a six month monk mode not so long ago. It works for as long as you have the focus, discipline, and introspection to make it work. The day you can no longer maintain one of those virtues: exit monk mode. The downside is that you will take a social loss. Your friends will wonder where you have been and talk about everything you missed; and you will lose significant ground with any women you were pursuing. My advice: let people in your social circle know that you are taking some time…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
