In the video the reporter says that 'the alleged victim never made a report but her roommate gave police his name' I'm not even sure from this news clip why this guy was charged if this girl never filed a report! Edit: You can hear this at 1:30 on the video. (Hope I haven't misheard it)

I really hope that's not actually a thing. Sometimes humanity is so sad.

I don't get it; 'He said the 'alleged victim' never made a report to police but he was arrested and charged with rape after her roommates gave officer's his name' So this girl never accused him of rape, if she never made a report? How the hell did they charge him on the word of her roommate?? Hope this guy gets justice.

I agree, there should be more encouragement for both boys and girls to get into science at school age. Also not sure why it would be harder for a woman to get a degree than a man they do the same course right?

Don't do this! It's completely unacceptable for someone who is supposed to love you to ask you to get completely unnecessary surgery. I'm in the UK and circumcisions are not normally done here. There's nothing creepy about foreskin, it's meant to be there! Sorry but she sounds shallow af. Imagine a friend telling you their partner asked them to get implants, nose job, what ever wouldn't you tell them to tell their partner to fuck off? Why not ask her to go get something done, see how she feels.

There really shouldn't be any '____ Only' anything. There are better ways to imp rove the representation of women in science surely? I personally think this is patronising to women and infuriating for men - it doesn't help anyone just creates more of a divide. I'm sure there are loads of women & people from disadvantaged backgrounds that would still win the grants based on merit alone, why do they need this? Or am I missing something?

It is perceived at least in the UK as a teenage girl thing. When ever it's portrayed on TV etc it's usually a teenage girl. It's also reported in the media that anorexia is caused by unrealistic/edited images of supermodels in magazines, which obviously has nothing to do with why boys/men would suffer as they would likely not be reading these magazines or want to look like a female supermodel. Support groups are usually aimed at teenage girls too, so the support network available is limited for …

I hope that you are receiving the support you need - stay strong.

I agree, men's rights are like anyone else's, everyone deserves equal treatment legally, socially etc There is nothing inherently sexist about supporting men's rights. It's groups like Incels that are often confused with MRA's in the media (due to complete lack of responsible reporting) that bring about this kind of thinking. People should be educated if they assume men's rights groups are somehow bad. You can support men's rights and women's rights and general equal rights for all, all at the s…

I get your frustration and the sarcasm but I think we need to think positively about the fact that society is changing and starting to recognise that men and women suffer the same ways especially when it comes to mental health and need the same levels of support. I doubt there's a (sane) woman out there that would see this campaign and think its misogynistic or anything other than 'That's great & about time!' Disclaimer: I'm a woman.

There was also information at the reception about male suicide and petition's to the government about doing more.

Did you call the police/social services? Poor kid.

Ok, the only thing I can say is that I think this is more of a highlight of racial inequality and prejudice, which is rife. As all victims were POC, not all were men, in fact only one was a man & not all attackers were women. So I just still don't get the relevance of your title. Also in the video there's no mention of this being a 'social phenomenon', the news reporters were all just generally (quite rightly) outraged at these incidents. They also point out that this woman has been arrested, lo…

I don't really understand the title here, I watched the video and think it's great that the woman has been fired and arrested for assaulting this poor kid. The other incidents mentioned were a white woman calling the cops on a black 8 year old girl for selling water, another white woman calling cops because a black family were having a BBQ and a white man harrasing a woman who was wearing a Puerto Rican flag on her shirt, while a cop walked away and ignored the whole thing (who has since retired…

I haven't gone through the link so perhaps the ttitleis misleading but you shouldn't be suspended for stating this however it isn't entirely accurate. Yes of course the study of physics was started and branched out predominantly by men because in the past due to gender roles, preferences to be mothers & barriers to women at the time that universities had in place predominantly men work in those academic fields. However there are a few notable women who have advanced the field and even obtained n…

It's good to see progress, even if it is still not proportional to the damage that has been caused. I hope it continues to improve until things are just for both the sexes.

Don't you think that grouping and stereotyping all women and all men like this is a part of the problem?

You get the irony in what you have said right? Women are also individuals. There are certainly some women who group all men with the worst of their gender, similarly you get men who do that too like you've just done - that doesn't make all women misandrists and all men misogynists. Everyone is an individual regardless of race, gender, religion, sexuality etc - we all have different views, values & goals. Everyone deserves the same rights and shouldn't be treated a certain way just because they a…

That's good, not sure of your circumstances but maybe just look close to home most people have a nice Mom, Sister, Aunt, Gran, Friend, that they can look to for keeping in mind that not all people are the same.

I have a female colleague who has had a terrible history with the men in her life, her first boyfriend was abusive & her Dad was similar - she now assumes all men are evil. I think this is sort of understandable but still wrong. You should never judge a whole group of people for the crap actions of a few. When you are in a sub like this you obviously see a lot of the worst side of women/societies attitudes towards men. Don't forget that there are a lot of wonderful women in the world who want th…

Yes, if she admitted she lied the only answer to this is yes. Surely this means she committed perjury?

I agree with what you are saying here but this girl isn't asking these guys to get naked so she can drool over them. She stated she convinces them by lying about wanting to pose for her art. She's manipulating a situation and violating their trust - like a sexual predator. So the decision they are making is based on false information. Or am I reading this situation wrong?

This is very true, I think it should be taken very seriously for men and women. This is just plain creepy guy or girl. No one should be tricked in to sexual situations or objectified and violated like this, you know? I think the girl that posted this should be ashamed & called out for the fact that she's probably only doing this because she doesn't have a guy wanting to willingly get naked for her. She's a bad person. I'd think the same if it were a guy posting this. I think it's just highlighte…

I'm fairly certain this is a sarcastic response to the posters you get in women's bathrooms with 'advice' on how to not getting raped. I don't think that the natural comparison to this for women would be killing babies ?!

Unless said man is an artist or a poet, rides a motorcycle or is inherently a 'bad boy' then women don't care about his ability to provide lol

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
